While among threats to international security one can mention poverty, terror, xenophobia, food insecurity, war, and climate change, a far more lethal challenge, which has the destructive capacity to erase the history of all the peoples from the surface of the planet, is currently unfolding. With tens of thousands of people being killed or wounded daily, it has become imperative to interrogate the politics behind the endless abuse, misuse, and illicit proliferation of lethal weapons in the global system and its implications for global security given the scant academic at-tention it has received in recent time. Relying on archival and other non-quantitative data, this study examines the implications of the continued illicit proliferation of weapons for international peace and security. The re-sults reveal that the failures of state actors to address the problem of illicit weapons proliferation have grave implications not only for global peace and security but also for the future. Pojęcie bezpieczeństwa religijnego obejmuje również ochronę miejsc kultu, budynków religijnych oraz innych zasobów związanych z praktykami religijnymi. Bezpieczeństwo religijne wywiera wpływ na ogólne bezpieczeństwo publiczne, ponieważ akty przemocy i dyskryminacji wobec wspólnot religijnych (ale też akty przemocy dokonywane przez grupy wyznaniowe) mogą mieć negatywne skutki społeczne i polityczne.Bezpieczeństwo religijne w Republice Słowackiej jest regulowane przez odpowiednie przepisy prawne i konstytucyjne gwarancje. {"title":"Conceptual demarkation between concepts «national security» and «state security» in the Ukrainian political discourse","authors":"Halyna Kuts","doi":"10.34739/dsd.2023.01.02","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.34739/dsd.2023.01.02","url":null,"abstract":"The article is devoted to the conceptual demarcation of the concepts of «national security» and «state security» in the Ukrainian political discourse. In particular, the analysis of the categories «national security» and «state security» was carried out in the political and legal context. It was concluded that the category of national security is broader than the category of state security, which is an important marker of the democracy of the political system of a certain state. It is reasoned that the type of political regime in the state acquires significant importance in the conceptual demarcation of the concepts of «national security» and «state security». The more developed a democratic society is, the easier it is to identify conceptual differences between the two definitions. Under the conditions of dominance of an undemocratic political regime in the state (totalitarianism/authoritarianism), the conceptual features of these concepts «merge», which eventually leads to their identification.
