Aim: To determine the role self-efficacy and work resilience in head nurses’ job insecurity at Main Mansoura University Hospital. Methods: A descriptive, correlational design was utilized with a sample of (81) head nurses at Main Mansoura University hospitals. Tools of data collection were General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and Job Insecurity Questionnaire (JIQ). Results: The majority of studied head nurses had (76.5%) represents the highest level of self-efficacy, more than half of the head nurses who were studied (56.8%) had a highest level of wok resilience and have perceived low level of job insecurity. There was Statistically significant negative correlation between job insecurity and both self-efficacy and work resilience. Conclusion: There was statistically significant negative correlation between job insecurity and both self-efficacy and work resilience at Main Mansoura University Hospital. Recommendations: Promote a healthy workplace for head nurses that giving them a sense of being safe. Time pressure is an threaten variable for it consequently nurse should have job conscientiousness trait to decrease time pressure and improve patient safety. Aim : To investigate the interactive influences of time pressure and job conscientiousness on patient safety among staff nurses at Oncology Center-Mansoura University. Methods: Descriptive correlational design was utilized. Three tools were used to gather the data; time pressure questionnaire, job conscientiousness questionnaire and patient safety questionnaire. Results: The majority of staff nurses complain of time pressure, had high level of job conscientiousness and had moderate level of perception about patient safety. Also, there is highly statistically significant positive correlation between job conscientiousness and patient safety, while there was no relationship between time pressure level and patient safety level. Recommendation: Establishing a favorable work environment by providing sufficient nursing staff and resources to enhance nurses’ ability to deal with work demands and workloads. Encouraging nurses to share responsibility in multimodal team that enhances job conscientiousness. Also, Conduct of education programs for staff nurses continuously on patient safety . Patient falls consider a significant challenge and ongoing issue for acute-care hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community health clinics. Aim: The aim of this study is to assess safety measures for prevention of falling in intensive care units. Method: This study had descriptive exploratory research design was used in this study . to arrive at complete description and explication with convenience sample of ٦٠ CCNs who have at least one year of work experience in the ICU from two intensive care unit for two hospital of Kirkuk city, Iraq. This study was used one tool for collection data; Safety Measures for Falling Prevention among CIPs, Falling Risk Factors Observational, and CCNs Practices Regarding Safety Measures for Falling Prevention. Results: A positive statistical significant correlation was noticed between the studied nurses’ age and their assessment of the patient related ( p = 0.015) and organizational and policies related falling risk factors ( p = 0.029). A highly statistical significant positive correlation was depicted between the studied nurses’ total mean practice score of risk factors assessment and safety measures for falling prevention (r =0.419, p =0.002). Identifying risk factors of PUs is very important for effective prevention. Aim : This study aimed to assess risk factors for PUs among critically ill patients in medical intensive care units. Study design: The study has an observational descriptive design. Setting: The study was conducted at medical intensive care units located in Medical Specialized Hospital in Egypt. Subjects: A convenience sample of 86 patients who were admitted to the previous predetermined setting were enrolled in this investigation. Tool: Pressure ulcer assessment tool was used to collect data for this investigation. Result s : Anemia and hypoalbuminemia were the most common risk factors among the studied patients. A statistically significant correlation was found between the development of PUs, and gender, diabetes, and current smoking status. The non use of preventive care, hypoalbuminemia, altered level of consciousness, diagnosis of chronic liver disease, and high/very high risk score by the initial Braden Scale were statistically significant predictors of PUs. Statistically significant differences were noted between the group who developed PUs and the group who did develop PUs regarding hypoalbuminemia ( P =0.029) and altered level of consciousness ( P =0.012) . Conclusion: Identifying PUs risk factors by critical care nurses is fundamental for implementing successful preventive protocols. Aim: This study aimed to evaluate pregnant women’s knowledge regarding genital tract infections. Study design: A descriptive study design was utilized. Setting: The study was carried out in the outpatient Antenatal Clinic of the New Obstetric and Gynecological Hospital at Mansoura University. Study subjects: The study subjects included 231 pregnant women according to inclusion criteria. Tools : A structured interview questionnaire was used consisting of three parts including an assessment sheet of personal characteristics, obstetric history of, and knowledge of pregnant women, regarding GTIs. Results : The results found that more than one-third of pregnant women had correct knowledge about the definition of GTIs, more than half of studied women had incorrect knowledge about causes and treatment of GTIs, more than one-quarter of them had correct knowledge about risk factors of GTIs while, more than half of them had correct knowledge about signs and symptoms of GTIs, less than half of them had incorrect knowledge about prevention of GTIs and less than two-thirds of them had incorrect knowledge about the mode of transmission, complication and diagnostic tests of GTIs. Conclusion: the present study concluded that there were less than two-thirds of pregnant women had poor knowledge, more than one-quarter of them had good knowledge and only(13.4%) had fair knowledge regarding genital tract infections. It is regarded as the 1 st diagnostic tool for heart problems. It plays a key role in lowering the risk of morbidity and mortality in individuals with heart problems . Nurses are in charge of monitoring and interpreting electrocardiograms. Aim : This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of educational intervention on nurses’ knowledge and skills regarding electrocardiogram. Design: A quasi-experimental design, one group pretest posttest design was used. Methods : Two tools were utilized, structured interview questionnaire to evaluate knowledge and demographic data of the nurses and electrocardiogram observational checklist to assess skills in performing ECG procedure. Results : This study clarified that the effectiveness of the educational intervention regarding ECG is positive and unequivocal. It also shows that there was good improvement with high significant differences in all phases of the educational intervention in overall main domains related to nurses knowledge and skills if compared with pre the educational intervention and slightly declined post 3 months after the educational intervention. Conclusion: Prior to educational intervention, the majority of the nurses lacked adequate ECG knowledge and skills which improved significally immediately post educational intervention, While this progress slowed slightly after 3 months at follow up. It aims to maintain conflict to encourage staff nurses to be innovative. Aim: The study aimed to assess the effect of conflict management program on organizational commitment and structural empowerment. Method: A quasi-experimental design was used and the study was conducted on 64 staff nurses working at Kafrelsheikh University Hospitals using three tools as: Conflict management, organizational commitment, and structural empowerment questionnaires Results: There was statistically significant improvement in all dimensions of staff nurses' opinions related to conflict management, organizational commitment and structural empowerment immediately post the program and post 3 months of the program implementation. The total score of staff nurses' opinions about conflict management, organizational commitment and structural empowerment increased from pre the program phase to immediately post the program with slightly decrease to after the program but still higher than pre program significance. Conclusion: There was statistically significant correlation between conflict management, organizational commitment, and structural empowerment questionnaire at all program phases. The laryngoscope is identified as a potential vector for cross-infection. So, assessing knowledge and performance of NICU nurses is baseline to improve well-being of patients. Aim : This study aimed to assess the nurses' knowledge and performance regarding infection control measures in processing of laryngoscope of neonatal intensive care unit. Method : A descriptive cross-sectional study design was utilized in this study. Setting : study was conducted at Mansoura Specialized Hospital at Mansoura city on a convenient sample of (35) nurses working in the NICU. Tools : Three tools were used to collect data as the following: nurses’ demographic and occupational characteristics questionnaire sheet, nurse’s knowledge about infection control measures toward laryngoscope processing and observational checklist. Results : The overall total knowledge score revealed that (60%) of nurses showed a poor score level of knowledge with a mean of 14.4(4.33). A few percentages of nurses had competent perform hand hygiene, wear personal protective equipment, sharp and waste disposal (2.9%, 0% and 0% respectively). Moreover, there was significant relation between nurses' educational level and total knowledge score. While there was no relation between nurses' occupational characteristics and total performance score related infection control measure in laryngoscopy. Conclusion : Nurses had a poor score level of knowledge in addition, inadequate performance regarding infection control measures in processing of laryngoscope. Ensuring the safety of blood transfusion procedures is the role of critical care nurses in the intensive care unit (ICU). Aim : The current study aimed to investigate critical care nurses’ compliance with blood transfusion guidelines in Gastrointestinal ICUs. Method : A descriptive observational research design was used to conduct this study with a convenience sample of 49 critical care nurses working in three ICUs affiliated with a university hospital in Egypt. Critical care nurses' compliance with the blood transfusion practice tool was used to collect data for this investigation. Results : Most of the participant nurses (81.6%) had satisfactory practice levels regarding their compliance with blood transfusion guidelines with a total mean practice score of 86.5±2.1. All participant nurses showed a satisfactory level of practice regarding patient identification, and collection, delivery, and administration of blood components. However, 91.8% of the participant nurses had unsatisfactory practice levels regarding checking blood requests and documentation. Conclusion and Recommendations : The study highlights the need for periodic refresher training sessions for critical care nurses on updated blood transfusion guidelines with a specific focus on checking blood requests and documentation of blood transfusion. The primary transmission of COVID-19 is from person-to-person through respiratory droplets. Adherence to infection prevention control measures remain the best weapon to protect health care worker against COVID 19. Aim : Evaluate nurses’ knowledge and adherence to infection prevention control measures during caring for COVID 19 patients. Method : A descriptive cross-sectional design used throughout this study. A convenient sample technique was utilized on 106 nurses in the Convalescence building at Mansoura University Hospital. Data was collected using 2 tools, COVID-19 Nurse’s Knowledge Questionnaire and COVID -19 Infection Prevention Control Measures Observational Checklist. Results : It was observed that 53.8% of the studied nurses had average knowledge level and 52.8% of them had poor adherence to infection prevention control measures. It was noticed that, there was strong positive correlation found between nurse's total adherence, knowledge level and infection with COVID 19.
