The focus of this paper is timbre characteristics of the interjection YEAH and formant’s spectral pictures. The author focuses the special attention on these features with the help of multifunctional computer programme “Praat”. The author of the article specifies on the quantitative distributing of using interjection YEAH depending on gender belonging. The author accents basic attention on illustration the structure of formant analysis for both sexes using multifunctional computer programme “Praat”. The article is related to the structure of formants, quantitative distribution of speakers between two genders, the formants’ depending on gender factor. The indexes of quantative distribution of the speakers, influence of gender factor on prevailing the formants in the speech of speakers, quantative distribution of using interjection YEAH are visually represented. The paper concerned with the analysis of prosodic characteristics such as: the range of fundamental frequency and speech rate. Absolute maximum and minimum ranges of fundamental frequency for the representatives from two gender groups (women and men) specify the certain type of melody’s modification (intonation). The author has identified timbre as a component of prosody. The indexes of the absolute maximum and minimum of fundamental frequencies and speech rate are visually shown. In the paper the gender difference of speech rate was identified. The indexes of maximum and minimum rates of fundamental frequency are visually represented. The author presents examples of the interjection YEAH by means of pitch charts that demonstrate speech directions of the speakers. The charts display the points of minimum and maximum indexes of fundamental frequency for both women and men. The paper is concerned with the analysis of timbre as a prosody component by means of which strengthening of sounding in the appropriate formant is visually shown. The author considers timbre characteristics of the interjection YEAH and its belonging to a certain gender group. The quantitative distribution of the interjection YEAH was pointed out by analysis of formant’s structure. The article clarifies the dependence of the timbral characteristics of this interjection on the gender of the speakers. The author of the article points out the quantitative distribution of interjection’s usage by gender. The constitutional crisis in Catalonia in 2017, the motion of no-confidence leading to the new Socialist government and the emergence of a radical right-wing party, VOX, all led to Spanish politics becoming more polarised. This paper also discusses polarisation from both the left-right and the territorial perspectives, intimately linked in Spain both for historical reasons but also because of agency decisions during the period analysed. Finally, the article shows the electoral results, government formation processes and political implications of polarisation in a non-institutionalised party system.","PeriodicalId":47304,"journal":{"name":"South European Society and Politics","volume":"20 1","pages":"441 - 474"},"PeriodicalIF":3.3,"publicationDate":"2020-05-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90149559","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While Portugal has shown more predictable patterns of interparty competition, since the 2015 elections it has experienced incremental changes in the electoral, parliamentary and governing arenas. This study explores several dimensions of the Portuguese party system (including volatility, alternation in government and innovation) from a longitudinal perspective, and provides new explanations for its development. Focusing on the post-bailout period, it argues that abstention and party strategy go a long way to explaining the patterns of continuity and (marginal) change in the Portuguese party system.","PeriodicalId":47304,"journal":{"name":"South European Society and Politics","volume":"122 6 1","pages":"179 - 203"},"PeriodicalIF":3.3,"publicationDate":"2020-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77308401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
