This study aimed to determine the value of total protein level in different morphological parts of common nettle. The best results were recorded for the leaves reaching 27.89% of protein content. The collected outcome indicates that commonly grown nettle can be a source of dietary protein. However, the method of cultivation of the raw material, the timing of harvest, and its stabilisation are important.","PeriodicalId":472822,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"20 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140778354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In cosmetology, it is mainly used in the prevention of cellulite and stretch marks, and in skin care. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of mud and caffeine treatments on cellulite reduction. A 49-year-old woman with confirmed cellulite on the back of her thighs underwent a series of ten mud treatments. The first effects were observed after just five treatments. The results of the study confirm that the mud, in combination with caffeine, has a beneficial effect on reducing visible bumps on the skin. The disadvantage of the treatment may be the unpleasant smell.","PeriodicalId":472822,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"542 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140775419","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The trend of lip rejuvenation and correction was popularised and continues to this day. This study aimed to present the results of lip augmentation using a 24 mg/ml hyaluronic acid hydrogel cross-linked with polyethylene glycol diglycidyl ether (PEGDE) supplemented with l-proline and glycine to reduce post-injection swelling. The article presents a retrospective study of two women following lip augmentation diagnosed with an autoimmune disease: one with systemic lupus erythematosus and the other with multiple sclerosis. The use of a PEGDE cross-linked hyaluronic acid-based filler gave highly satisfactory results. No adverse events were reported.","PeriodicalId":472822,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"211 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140760305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can be congenital (hereditary) or acquired. The aim of this study was to assess the self-esteem of people with acquired vitiligo. The study was based on an anonymous questionnaire completed by 195 participants. The majority of the respondents indicated that the placement of the skin abnormalities was a cosmetic concern, and that vitiligo affected their self-acceptance and contributed to their diminished emotional state. In their opinion, stress of daily life can influence the appearance of new vitiligo lesions or increase of already existing skin discoloration. Although vitiligo brings many challenges for the majority of respondents, they maintain that it has a minimal impact on their overall quality of life.","PeriodicalId":472822,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"535 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140788058","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It allows the detection of early problems and diseases of the scalp, and the selection of appropriate treatment methods. In some cases, it is necessary to perform extended diagnostics. Capillaroscopy enables to measure cutaneous vascularization and evaluate vascular changes. The study aimed to introduce the use of capillaroscopy in imaging of the scalp. The possibilities of diagnostic development on the way to assess the predictive value of vascular and hyperpigmented skin dermatoses were indicated. Capillaroscopy can complement the basic diagnosis and control of the skin and its appendages.","PeriodicalId":472822,"journal":{"name":"Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine","volume":"126 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140784035","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
