Abstract
Urtica dioica, as a plant species commonly found in Poland and worldwide, can be a source of proteins, thus supplementing the diet by providing both building blocks, vitamins and minerals. This study aimed to determine the value of total protein level in different morphological parts of common nettle. The best results were recorded for the leaves reaching 27.89% of protein content. The collected outcome indicates that commonly grown nettle can be a source of dietary protein. However, the method of cultivation of the raw material, the timing of harvest, and its stabilisation are important.
