Hence, it is essential to investigate the fractional composition of raw materials for pellet production. Tested materials originated from ten parquet manufacturing facilities located in western Poland. The research material consisted of uncontaminated oak ( Quercus spp.) wood particles. The tested material had a moisture content rang - ing from 8.8% to 11.4% and a density of 210.7 ± 1.79 kg/m 3 . A sieve analysis method segregated the tested material into four distinct size fractions (<1.0 mm, 1.0–2.5 mm, 2.5–5.0 mm, and >5 mm). The average mass shares in these fractions were 53.72 ±0.51%, 35.14 ±0.27%, 9.59 ±0.36%, and 1.55% ±0.11%, respectively. The particle size distributions of wood particles generated in all the facilities demonstrate remarkable similarity. No substantial differences were observed in terms of tilt angle and calorific value. Factors such as variations in raw material spe - cies, geographical origins, density, humidity, and technological processes appear to have minimal influence on the sieve-size distributions of the generated sawdust. All these solid wood processing residues can undergo processing into high-quality solid biofuel production.","PeriodicalId":46357,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Science and Technology-Research Journal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135618916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the case presented here, the effect of the addition of high TC carbon nanotubes to commercial epoxy resin LH145 cured with H147 hardener was investigated experimentally. The main parameter studied was thermal diffusivity. Measurements were carried out for samples of epoxy resin and epoxy resin matrix composites with dispersed CNTs with a volume fraction of carbon nanotubes ranging from 1% to 6%. A modified Ångström temperature oscillation method was used to obtain TD. Basic measurements were performed in the temperature range from −20 ºC to 80 ºC while maintaining high temperature resolution that allows to observe the TD changes with the temperature change. During complementary microcalorimetric studies focussed on specific heat determination effects of matrix resin postcuring were also characterized. The studies were performed within extended up to 80 ºC temperature range. As a result, the temperature dependence of thermal conductivity was determined and data for determining thermal diffusivity was obtained. However, the analysis of the obtained results did not show a significant dependence of the studied parameters on the amount of CNT additive for the studied compositions.","PeriodicalId":46357,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Science and Technology-Research Journal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135619148","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Single-lap joints made of S235JR steel sheets bonded with Araldite 2024-2 epoxy adhesive were tested. For comparative reasons, static shear strength tests and high-cycle fatigue strength tests were performed. Adhesive-filled joints having three holes, each with a diameter of 3 mm, and notches, each 3 mm wide and 4 mm long, were tested and compared with reference joints, i.e. without modifica - tion. The assumption was to determine whether the structural modifications would reduce the peak peel and shear stresses that are typical of this type of joints. Results of the static strength tests showed no significant effect of the applied modifications on the strength of the joints. However, in terms of fatigue strength, the results demonstrated a significant improvement in fatigue life, the value of which increased in the low-cycle fatigue region by 328.6% for the joint with notches and by 640.8% for the joint with holes. A smaller yet still positive effect of the applied modifications was shown for high-cycle fatigue. For a variable load with the maximum value of 9 MPa, the fatigue life increased by 215.9% for the variant with notches and by 183.3% for the variant with holes. Surface topography of fatigue fractures was examined by determining roughness parameters on the overlap ends in the samples. Significant differences were shown, with the selected roughness parameters being significantly lower for the reference variant than for the variants with notches and holes. It was shown that the applied structural modifications led to increasing the fatigue strength to 8.5 MPa for the limit number of cycles equal to 2 · 106, when compared to the reference variant for which the fatigue strength was 8 MPa.","PeriodicalId":46357,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Science and Technology-Research Journal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135619163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The extent of this change and work time after which it occurs is important information in the maintenance process, necessary for its planning. This paper presents the developed concept of durability prediction method of a four-joint metal-elastomer machine support based on the variation of working temperature of its elastomer elements. Therefore, the solution enables the estimation of significant indexes determining the life cycle of the mount. The developed simulation model is a useful tool for designers, allowing them to estimate the time of the machine mount’s correct work. It also helps the operator to schedule the inspections of technical condition (degree of wear) of the machine mount and prepare its replacement operations accordingly. This problem is significant because any failure to an element usually gener - ates higher costs than carrying out a scheduled preventive replacement.","PeriodicalId":46357,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Science and Technology-Research Journal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135619353","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A specific feature of this solution is its suitability for distance estimation on devices which are characterised by a small amount of resources. The presented method allows to provide an acceptable precision of distance estimation while using a relatively small measurement set. For this purpose, real RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) measurements were used and estimation of the path-loss exponent was performed with the use of a Bayesian particle filter. The article, apart from a detailed demonstration of the algorithms, presents the results of the sensitivity analysis of this method to change the number of inserted particles and of the repetitions of calculations needed to estimate the path loss exponent. Additionally, the results of the model stability study on the size change of the experimental dataset RSSI are presented. The properties and accuracy of the proposed method are verified based on a set of actual measurement data. All the obtained results indicate the utility of the Bayesian filtering method for effective estimation of the path loss exponent and confirm the possibility of using the described method in systems with a limited amount of computing resources.","PeriodicalId":46357,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Science and Technology-Research Journal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135619168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The designer problems of tribo-joints operating under difficult conditions of force and temperature loads are singled out. The study aimed at obtaining the comparable quantitative dependences of blade material wear, taking into account the role of both cyclical changes in the temperature of the gas flow under the conditions close to real ones, and their frictional characteristics. Deformable heat-resistant nickel alloys and foundry heat-resistant nickel alloys from which T-shaped samples were made, were chosen for the research. The tests were carried out on the developed gas dynamic stand, which simulates the working conditions of the bandage joints of the bladed turbomachines of gas turbine installations. The intensity of wear was determined as the ratio of the worn material volume to the number of load cycles under different temperature conditions. The wear resis - tance of three-way connections operating under the conditions of non-stationary thermal loads and fluctuations in the contact was considered. It was shown that thermal cycling leads to a decrease in the wear resistance of heat-resistant nickel alloys by 2–3 times and depends on the average temperature of the cycle. It wasfound that resistance to the wear, and also the character of change of coefficient of friction is mainly determined by the terms of education and destruction of the protective superficial layer. Basic factors managing tribology processes in the zone of contact were determined.","PeriodicalId":46357,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Science and Technology-Research Journal","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135619155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
