Yet, the role of transportation as a key \"transportation 4.0\" sub-system has been overlooked by scholars, resulting in an incomplete transition towards IR5.0. To bridge this gap, we adopt the reductionist approach grounded from systems theory to systematically review literature. Our analysis highlights the integration of technologies in transportation, impacting ecosystems significantly. However, global progress on transportation 4.0 exhibits regional disparities. In response, we propose a transportation 4.0 framework to mitigate disparities and enhance competitiveness. Identifying research gaps, challenges, and prospects, we outline directions towards IR5.0. Our study clarifies the evolving landscape of transportation within the Industry 4.0 paradigm.
","PeriodicalId":46120,"journal":{"name":"Operations Management Research","volume":"46 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":9.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140046435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":2,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

EVs are recognized by academics as a viable and potentially game-changing type of transportation due to their ability to improve overall energy efficiency and lower emissions of greenhouse gases. Studies on either the technological or environmental aspects of electric vehicles abound in the literature, but a comprehensive sustainability assessment taking all three into account is the subject of relatively little investigation. This research study has performed a bibliometric analysis, cluster analysis, and morphology analysis on ‘EV adoption and Sustainability’ to gain insights into the research field. In total, 291 articles were found suitable from 2003 to Jan 2023. Our assessment only considers review papers, articles, and journals from the Scopus database. After going through this procedure, we found 191 articles worthy of bibliometric study, and 73 were chosen for the cluster analysis and morphology analysis. Vosviewer software has been used to generate two-dimensional bibliographic maps for visualization. This study has used cluster analysis to determine which themes predominate and a morphological analysis of author-supplied keywords to determine which sets of words appear most frequently and how often they appear. Six theme-based clusters have been found from the cluster analysis. We have read all the papers within the clusters, and we have discussed and devised the theme for each cluster as per the content covered in the clusters. The findings of this study have provided a research proposition for future researchers working in this area. This study has also suggested policy, societal, and managerial implications of EV adoption. The proposed study will aid engineers, academics, researchers, and policymakers involved in promoting electric vehicle adoption.
","PeriodicalId":46120,"journal":{"name":"Operations Management Research","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":9.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140001371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":2,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So, this research article presents a study that identifies and analyses the barriers for adoption of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in the Indian handloom industry. The study employs a mixed-methods approach involving a review of relevant literature, expert discussions, and a questionnaire survey among industry experts and academicians. Data for this study was collected from the handloom sector of Varanasi city in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) technique has been used to determine the contextual driver-driven relationships among the identified barriers. The study reveals eleven barriers to AR technology adoption and implementation, including a lack of government support policies, skilled workers, legal contractual certainty, and funds. The driven barriers are the lack of IT infrastructure and internet access, lack of digital culture, fear of failure, and poor research and development in the industry. Further, the managerial insights of this study will undoubtedly help the policymakers/government bodies to take care of this particular sector.
","PeriodicalId":46120,"journal":{"name":"Operations Management Research","volume":"38 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":9.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139921419","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":2,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of high retail costs and poor consumption habits in emerging nations, the disruption has produced worldwide anxiety. In emerging economies, in addition to rising food costs, the epidemic has prompted worries about national food security. Recent research on developing markets have indicated that endemic has a disruptive and negative impact on corporate performance. Thus, the S-AFSC of growing economies such as India must be investigated where the population and poverty rate is high, a greater population is dependent on public distribution systems, and delivering fairer pricing to farmers for their crop is the key priority. With structural equation modelling, this study assesses the impact of digital technology on sustainable S-AFSCs. Additionally, the moderating influence of organisational flexibility (OE) is assessed. The findings shows that industry 4.0 technologies (ITe) have major impact on the viability of sustainable S-AFSC. Furthermore, the link between IE 4.0 and S-AFSC is moderated by organisational flexibility. The study will assist policymakers and stakeholders in revising their post-pandemic actions.
","PeriodicalId":46120,"journal":{"name":"Operations Management Research","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":9.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139680147","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":2,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sustainable practices are essential for the conservation of natural resources and environmental protection. A reluctant attitude of manufacturing organizations towards sustainable practices has been observed due to the lack of exposure to sustainability-specific indicators and frameworks. Therefore, relying on the concepts of stakeholder theory, resource-based theory, and institutional theory, this study has proposed a framework to evaluate the sustainability index. There are two aspects of the study: one is to explore the indicators of sustainability considering all dimensions of the triple-bottom-line and validation through a questionnaire survey, and another is prioritization and indexing of the sustainability performance using the Delphi method and Graph Theory Matrix Approach (GTMA). Finally, forty-five indicators have been considered for this study. The GTMA-based framework is proposed for evaluating the sustainability index. Its application is illustrated in the context of an Indian manufacturing organization. The findings of the study unveiled that ‘employees and customers welfare’, ‘material & energy consumption’, and ‘value creation’ possess a strong contribution to the sustainable operations of an organization. This study will assist the concerned professionals in gauging their industrial sustainability performance.
","PeriodicalId":46120,"journal":{"name":"Operations Management Research","volume":"86 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":9.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139588566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":2,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results showed that redesigning the network and creating a supply chain buffer were the most important criteria/pillars, and the most important factors were creating redundancy and robustness. The study also found that approximately 80% and 20% of resilience can be achieved by developing absorption and reactive capabilities, respectively. The importance weight provided by this study can be used by industry professionals to estimate achieving supply chain resilience, while academicians can use it as the foundation for future researches. Further, researches may be carried out by developing a digital twin to understand potential impact of disruptions and resilience strategies. Blockchain implementation precisely smart contracts may be studied, since it appears to be one among best solutions to create transparency, coordination and control mechanism in the supply chain system. To achieve this goal, we begin by identifying relevant criteria through a comprehensive literature review and interviews with experts, including faculty members, executive professionals from sports departments, and board members of a municipality. Subsequently, we assess the significance of inter-city (optimal city selection) and intra-city (optimal geographic area identification) criteria in two distinct stages. These assessments are based on experts' opinions, collect via an online questionnaire developed in alignment with the Best Worst Method (BWM). In an effort to assess the desirability of the cities under consideration, we apply piecewise linear preference functions (PLPFs) to determine the ranges in which each of the items achieve their best score. Also, the best area for constructing a sports complex is selected using the geographical information system (GIS). The results of this research confirm that social factors are more important than economic and environmental ones in the evaluation phase of the candidates and PLPFs produce different results vis- à-vis the existing linear methods. The framework presented offers decision-makers a comprehensive overview of the considerations involved in selecting suitable locations for sustainable sports complexes. Notably, it specifically delineates the criteria essential for the location selection of sports complexes dedicated to traditional games. Furthermore, the proposed methodology can be regarded as an expert-based solution applicable to a range of challenges in sports complex location selection.
","PeriodicalId":46120,"journal":{"name":"Operations Management Research","volume":"14 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":9.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138629129","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":2,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it also entails dangers, including shifting circumstances, disruptions, and elevated prices. To address these issues, outsourcing has evolved, lowering outputs and service costs. To mitigate these risks, businesses employ strategies such as interventionism, protectionism, and regionalization. By investigating and simulating the interplay of outsourcing approaches to equip businesses with supply chain resilience (SCRES), this study aims to close the knowledge gap between the existing knowledge and global supply chain (GSC) risk management practices. To choose the best alternative for our case study company, we analyzed four distinct outsourcing techniques, namely offshoring, reshoring, nearshoring, and farshoring; furthermore, we investigated the outsourcing elements typically taken into account to achieve resilience.
