Most scholars have adopted the same methodic approach: analyzing sources in the book connected to the promise of the Davidic dynasty. This article addresses this issue from a novel angle–through a discussion of the three most wicked kings described in the book of Chronicles, Jehoram, Ahaziah, and Ahaz. It seems that the question whether the rule of a certain king, and the succession of his son after him, can be justified, arises only in cases where the king has no merits whatsoever. The comparison between these three kings uncovers numerous connections between them, especially the motif of the death of their children.","PeriodicalId":45627,"journal":{"name":"ZEITSCHRIFT FUR DIE ALTTESTAMENTLICHE WISSENSCHAFT","volume":"132 1","pages":"558 - 572"},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2020-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1515/zaw-2020-4003","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45608914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":2,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ps 48 wird als Hymnus auf Zion aus vorexilischer Zeit vor dem Einfluss der neuassyrischen Großmacht beurteilt, der in frühnachexilischer Zeit durch Ps 46 ein erläuterndes Vorwort erhalten hat. Dies ist nach der Katastrophe von 587/6 v. Chr. und dem anschließenden Exil als notwendig erachtet worden. Ps 46 wirbt im erschütterten Gottesvolk um neues Vertrauen, indem mit Jhwh Zebaoth der Titel »Gott Jakobs« verbunden wird, eine Erinnerung an die verheißungsvollen Anfänge des Gottesvolkes. In der Perserzeit ist später Ps 47 als weiteres Vorwort komponiert und dazwischen gestellt worden. Um Jhwh, den einzigen König, sind die Edlen aller Völker zum gemeinsamen Lob versammelt und empfangen den Ehrentitel »Volk des Gottes Abrahams«. In diesem Lichte kann der Kampf der Könige in Ps 48 gegen den Großkönig Jhwh nur noch als Ausnahme gegenüber der wechselseitigen Zuwendung von Jhwh und den Völkern erscheinen.","PeriodicalId":45627,"journal":{"name":"ZEITSCHRIFT FUR DIE ALTTESTAMENTLICHE WISSENSCHAFT","volume":"132 1","pages":"542 - 557"},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2020-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1515/zaw-2020-4002","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43321732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":2,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Il s’agit en fait d’un retournement de malédictions contre celui qui les pratique. De ce point de vue le Ps 109 se situe dans la ligne des dénonciations de Pr 30,11–14, non seulement quant à l’usage de la malédiction et de la bénédiction, mais encore quant aux comportements à l’égard du pauvre et du malheureux ‘ny et ’bywn, comme dans le premier psautier davidique Ps 3–41. Voir également les liens plus larges du Ps 18 avec Pr 30,1–14, le Ps 18 comportant une réaffirmation conjointe du pauvre et du messie. Les allusions du Ps 109 quant aux rites de malédictions trouvent quelques parallèles bibliques, mais également extrabibliques quant aux rites liés à l’alliance d’un suzerain avec ses subordonnés.","PeriodicalId":45627,"journal":{"name":"ZEITSCHRIFT FUR DIE ALTTESTAMENTLICHE WISSENSCHAFT","volume":"132 1","pages":"415 - 426"},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1515/zaw-2020-3003","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49249721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":2,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its contexts clearly suggest that it belongs to the semantic domain of rain and dew, and that it denotes something desirable. But further precision has eluded interpreters, and the much-discussed Ugaritic words rbb and rb are of little help in this regard. The apparent Akkadian cognate rabbu A, unmentioned in the standard Biblical Hebrew lexica, is considered here, and it is argued on that basis that the word means “gentle rain” or “drizzle.”","PeriodicalId":45627,"journal":{"name":"ZEITSCHRIFT FUR DIE ALTTESTAMENTLICHE WISSENSCHAFT","volume":"132 1","pages":"449 - 457"},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2020-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1515/zaw-2020-3002","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47504336","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":2,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
