In recent decades, some cities have set policies where cycling has become increasingly important. Urban mobility policies in response to Covid-19 have reinforced this perspective. Throughout the analysis of urban bicycle studies, the paper investigates the role of mobility for society and the design of our cities? What the role of sustainable mobility, in particular how the bicycle is addressing the Covid-19 emergency. During and after this emergency, the use of the bicycle addresses urban quality and liveability for spaces. The research studies the urban policies of 5 cities: Barcelona, Bogota, Brussels, Milan and Paris and analyses the measures implemented during the first lock down, since February 2020 to May 2020. In all cities studied, the bicycle modal shares and the bicycle infrastructure has increased. Covid-19 allowed the bicycle to prove it is the safest, most efficient urban mode of transport. The action carried out, in the cities studied, affected not only on the hard aspects reshaping the cities with permanent and temporary solutions but also on soft aspects acting on people's perception and use and choosing how to move. Transport studies and policies involving bicycles are not just 'about cycling', but about sustainable, productive, and prosperous cities.","PeriodicalId":45147,"journal":{"name":"TeMA-Journal of Land Use Mobility and Environment","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.7,"publicationDate":"2021-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75396018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These wavelets are generated by the derivative of specific base functions. In this case, the order of the derivative also indicates the number of vanishing moments of the wavelet. Although these wavelets have a similar waveform, they have several distinct characteristics in time and frequency domains. These distinctions are explored here in the scale space. In order to compare the results provided by these wavelets for a real signal, they are used in the decomposition of a signal inserted in the context of structural health monitoring.","PeriodicalId":45147,"journal":{"name":"TeMA-Journal of Land Use Mobility and Environment","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.7,"publicationDate":"2021-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80766652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

SBMAC was established in 1978 as a scientific organization aimed at developing and promoting Computational and Applied Mathematics in Brazil. It is a leading environment for researchers, professionals and students working in Applied Mathematics and related fields. Currently, SBMAC has over 300 members and it organizes the largest scientific event in t his field in Latin America, the National Congress of Computational and Applied Mathematics (CNMAC), an annual congress that attracts around 700 attendees. Furthermore, SBMAC organizes regional events and co sponsors many other events in Brazil. In 1999, SBMAC created the journal Tendencias em Matematica Aplicada e Computacional (TEMA), which was originally devoted to papers presented at CNMAC and to the dissemination of Applied Mathematics in Portuguese. With the publication of 21 volumes, the jornal has grown and has become a leading Brazilian journal in the field. In the past few years, the great increase in the number of submissions in English, by Brazilian and foreigner researchers alike, shows that TEMA has attracted an international audience and is recognized as an important publication in Computational and Applied Mathematics. The new journal, Trends in Computational and Applied Mathematics, marks the rebirth of TEMA as a truly international journal, yet one that preserves its history and the high profile that it has achieved. Our goals are to publish original research, theoretical developments and case studies on promising themes; to offer an interdisciplinary and reliable international forum; to provide an efficient peer review system, leading to a fast response time to the first decision. For forthcoming issues of TCAM, we invite researchers in Applied Mathematics and related fields to submit papers with innovative and/or relevant contributions to Computational and Applied Mathematics. We hope you enjoy reading the first issue of the new TCAM. We are looking forward to receiving your future contributions, as well as any comments and suggestions you may have. We will try our best to adjust to the expectations of our readership.","PeriodicalId":45147,"journal":{"name":"TeMA-Journal of Land Use Mobility and Environment","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.7,"publicationDate":"2021-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90459824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Esse resultado mostra que existe uma relacao entre a regularidade e o numero de vertices do grafo que possibilita a construcao de uma familia de grafos regulares, denominados grafos harmonicos. Em seguida, mostramos que todo grafo harmonico de grau k pode ser obtido como composicao sucessiva de grafos completos de grau k . A curva de retenção é uma relação não linear entre estas variáveis, fundamental no estudo da dinâmica da água no solo na zona vadosa. Um dos objetivos deste trabalho á avaliar o modelo de curva de retenção da água no solo que melhor ajusta os dados mensurados de umidade e potencial mátrico, obtidos a partir de um experimento realizado na Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro. No presente artigo, um Algoritmo Genético (AG) é proposto de forma a buscar os parâmetros de ajuste que maximizam o coeficiente de determinação, considerando três horizontes de solo e os seguintes modelos de curvas de retenção: van Genuchten, Brooks-Corey e Haverkamp. A performance do AG implementado é avaliada comparando os resultados obtidos com o programa SWRC Fit, que usa o método determinístico de Levenberg-Marquardt. A partir dos resultados obtidos pode-se observar que o AG ajustou com maior precisão os dados mensurados e o modelo Haverkamp apresentou o maior coeficiente de determinação. Além disso, o esquema de discretização da equação de Richards proposto se apresentou mais estável usando o modelo Haverkamp como curva de retenção da água no solo.","PeriodicalId":45147,"journal":{"name":"TeMA-Journal of Land Use Mobility and Environment","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.7,"publicationDate":"2021-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82356903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
