Det overordnede argument i denne artikel er, at personlige fortællinger kan udgøre et privilegeret værktøj i sådanne inventiofaser. Argumentet hviler på et auktionsforskningsprojekt, gennemført som rådgivningsforløb i forbindelse med Kvindernes Internationale Kampdag i 2021. De tre klienter var ligestillingsordfører for Det Radikale Venstre, Samira Nawa, ligestillingsordfører for Venstre, Fatma Øktem og næstformand i Ligestillingsudvalget, Birgitte Vind. Artiklens bidrag er tosidet: I forhold til eksisterende håndbøger i retorisk rådgivningspraksis tilbyder den et specifikt, velbegrundet redskab, som har potentiale til at forbedre taleskrivningsprocesser, men som også medfører bestemte udfordringer. I forhold til eksisterende viden om fortællingers rolle i retorisk diskurs forskyder artiklen traditionens fokus. The analysis establishes a new genre with distinctive traits and functions: They royal crisis address. This genre has two constitutive traits: To demonstrate the seriousness of the situation and to constitute the citizens and encourage them to behave in the right way. The genre also has three optional traits: to provide thanks, to empathise with those affected, and to reassure and inspire the nation. In a national crisis such as the Covid-19 pandemic, these rhetorical functions will also be performed by national leaders, however, because of the apolitical position and charismatic and historical power of the royals in the North European monarchies the royals can perform these functions with a special authority. Användningen av färgglada uniformer, populär musik, känslomässiga predikningar, och välgörenhet till fattiga och ut stötta, möttes av såväl entusiasm som förlöjligande. Redan i samtiden var det tydligt att rörelsen var mer förlöjligad än någon annan folkrörelse, något som senare historiker också bemärkt. Detta förlöjligande kunde både undergräva det ethos som behövdes för att övertyga de ofrälsta och motverka medlemmarnas förtroende. Med hjälp av Michael Billigs begrepp \"unlaughter\" studerar jag Frälsningsarméns strategier för att motverka förlöjligande. Denne artikel undersøger et sådant tilfælde: den første nordiske civile ulydighedsaktion udført af forskerbevægelsen Scientist Rebellion foran Klimaministeriet i København i 2021. I min retoriske kritik fokuserer jeg på mediedækningen af demonstrationen for at undersøge, hvordan videnskabelig etos bliver forhandlet i mødet med aktivistisk praksis i det offentlige rum. Gennem en læsning af forskeraktivisternes brug af stedslig- og bevægelsesretorik argumenterer jeg for, at vi med fordel kan nuancere vores blik på videnskabelig etos i klimakrisen. Krydsfeltet mellem videnskab og sociale bevægelser blotlægger behovet for at forstå etos som urolig, snarere end en slags gradvis og stabil opbygningsproces. Now everyone is supposed to answer questions about the work envi-ronment joining what is called an ‘ARK-survey’. It has been two mer-ges of institutions and a period of accreditation to get the status as university since the last time the staff was asked about the work envi-ronment. “The leader at my unit always acts honestly toward me” one of the questions sounds, expecting you to answer on a scale from 1 to 5. How to answer? The article constitutes an interpretative rhetorical criticism of a cluster of texts that prepared the institution for the sur-vey, the texts that formed the survey and selected texts that were pre-sented to the university board after the survey. The questions we seek to answer concern the rhetorical practices: What forms of rhetorical agency that are to be found? How do the texts and transactions reflect trust between leaders and employees? Martin Andersen Nexøs tale: \"Fattigper og Fremtiden\"","authors":"Hanne Roer","doi":"10.52610/rhs.v27i85.139","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.52610/rhs.v27i85.139","url":null,"abstract":"Martin Andersen Nexø’s speech at the Dynæs-gathering in 1913 is the most important of the many speeches he gave as a public orator, agitator, and popular lecturer, in Denmark and abroad. After an introduction to Danish oratory in the period, this article presents a close textual analysis of the speech, revealing Nexø’s synthesis of different traditions. In 1919, Nexø turned to communism, defending in the decades to come the Soviet Union. His change of ideology did not mean that his way of appealing to the emotions of the audience changed. Hence his oratory is characterized by a generalized pathos, as defined by Madsen and Lund (2021). Nexø’s ortho-dox, communist ideology (after 1919) may explain why there has been little research in his work as popular orator and lec turer. {"title":"Ironier och katakreser","authors":"Alexander Stagnell","doi":"10.52610/rhs.v27i85.88","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.52610/rhs.v27i85.88","url":null,"abstract":"Denna artikel tar sin utgångspunkt i ett skifte inom retorikämnets demokratiförståelse där ett agonistiskt eller antagonistiskt perspektiv alltmer kommit att ersätta det konsensusinriktade demokratibegrepp som tidigare varit dominerande. Mer specifikt handlar det om hur denna förändrade utgångspunkt påverkar analysen av populistisk retorik då den, inom ramen för detta nya perspektiv, inte längre kan avfärdas som otvetydigt antidemokratisk. Artikeln tar sig an denna fråga genom en läsning av två tänkare av antagonismen, Slavoj Žižek och Ernesto Laclau, samt deras diskussion över populismen. Genom exempel hämtade från Nya Moderaternas retoriska förvandling under tiden i Allians för Sverige ämnar artikeln att, ur Žižeks och Laclaus respektive tänkande, utvinna två motsatta perspektiv på hur vi kan förstå retoriciteten hos det politiskas antagonistiska ontologi.
