However, interactions among objects result in complex spatial occlusions, which gives rise to a challenging problem in tracking. We propose an adaptive weighing particle filter (AWPT) for tracking multiple objects and reasoning the occlusions among them. A weighing-occlusion modeling-weighing procedure is developed to adaptively weigh the particles. Moreover, we propose a stack occlusion model and define the operations on it to maintain the occlusion relationship. The experiments exhibit that the proposed method can effectively track fully occluded objects and reason about the occlusion relationships among them.","PeriodicalId":44835,"journal":{"name":"New Mathematics and Natural Computation","volume":"10 1","pages":"225-238"},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1142/S1793005714500136","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"64038141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Human-centered HMI containing rich context information is proposed by taking the advantage of the abundant research findings of artificial intelligence and pervasive computing. The technology of context-aware computing is introduced in this study for providing initiative services mode as well. First, in view of the characteristics of VE, the Web Ontology Language (OWL) is adopted to model the context information. Second, the modified ID3 decision-tree algorithm is applied to automatically generate the context rules of VE. Third, the polymorphic proactive services model based on context rules is designed. Finally, an example is given to illustrate how to apply context rule-inference to realize proactive services. The experiment demonstrates the correctness and effectiveness of the above mentioned algorithm and model.","PeriodicalId":44835,"journal":{"name":"New Mathematics and Natural Computation","volume":"221 1","pages":"177-185"},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1142/S1793005714500094","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"64037998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Besides studying some interesting mathematical properties of the method, algorithm viz neut-MCDM is presented. The work also furnishes the fundamentals of neutrosophic set theory succinctly, to provide a first introduction of neutrosophic sets for the MCDM community. QSR theories have applications in areas such as geographic information systems, spatial databases, robotics, and cognitive sciences. The existing QSR theories have been applied primarily to 2D. The ability to perform QSR over a collection of 3D objects is desirable in many problem domains. Here we present the evolution (VRCC-3D+) of RCC-based QSR from 2D to both 3D (including occlusion support) and 4D (a temporal component). It is time consuming to construct large composition tables manually. We give a divide-and-conquer algorithm to construct a comprehensive composition table from smaller constituent tables (which can be easily handcrafted). In addition to the logical consistency entailment checking that is required for such a system, clearly there is a need for a spatio-temporal component to account for spatial movements and path consistency (i.e. to consider only smooth transitions in spatial movements over time). Visually, these smooth movement phenomena are represented as a conceptual neighborhood graph. We believe that the methods presented herein to detect consistency, refine uncertainty, and enhance reasoning about 3D objects will provide useful guidelines for other studies in automated spatial reasoning.","PeriodicalId":44835,"journal":{"name":"New Mathematics and Natural Computation","volume":"10 1","pages":"103-141"},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1142/S1793005714500069","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"64037878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To avoid the drawback of the possibility of being trapped in local optimum, the proposed method uses a migrate-based strategy to control the diversity of the swarm. During the iteration aspect of the algorithm, the comprehensive fuzzy evaluation method is employed to evaluate the diversity. Furthermore, the fuzzy migratory operator is then used to remove bad particles once the diversity is far from ideal. Moreover, we have proven that the proposed migrate strategy is a mean square convergence. The experimental results conducted on three benchmark functions also proved that the proposed method is superior to that of classical PSO and conventional cooperative PSO, where the comparison has been based primarily upon the global optimality, solution accuracy and diversity value.","PeriodicalId":44835,"journal":{"name":"New Mathematics and Natural Computation","volume":"10 1","pages":"163-175"},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1142/S1793005714500082","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"64037920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, a protocol is given, via which Maxwell's demon transfers green energy into optimally secure and efficient EPS. Then a morphogenesis scheme (design) of a homeostatic demon is determined, so that the demon can achieve sustainable EPS stability. It is shown that synchronization protocol complicates the sustainable EPS and that the beneficial design transforms the sustainable EPS in a complex community. A sustainability test is introduced for the sake of coping with the issue in the sense the test serves to determine the EPS is indeed sustainable.","PeriodicalId":44835,"journal":{"name":"New Mathematics and Natural Computation","volume":"10 1","pages":"55-67"},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1142/S1793005714500033","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"64038191","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different from most of the current methods which utilize face models to estimate head position, we develop a relative homography transformation based algorithm which is robust to the large scale change of the head. In the proposed method, salient Harris corners are detected on a face, and local binary pattern features are extracted around each of the corners. And then, relative homography transformation is calculated by using RANSAC optimization algorithm, which applies homography to a region of interest (ROI) on an image and calculates the transformation of a planar object moving in the scene relative to a virtual camera. By doing so, the face center initialized in the first frame will be tracked frame by frame. Meanwhile, a head shoulder model based Chamfer matching method is proposed to estimate the head centroid. With the face center and the detected head centroid, the head pose is estimated. The experiments show the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm.","PeriodicalId":44835,"journal":{"name":"New Mathematics and Natural Computation","volume":"10 1","pages":"69-90"},"PeriodicalIF":1.0,"publicationDate":"2014-03-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1142/S1793005714500045","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"64038266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
