Traditionally, EBB algorithm often takes singular value decomposition (SVD) to the average channel matrix of each resource block (RB) or RB-group. This method is simple but very inflexible, and sometimes it may result in unnecessary high complexity. In this paper, we propose an adaptive approach that combines first order perturbation compensation (FOPC) with traditional SVD to get the beamforming vector or precoding matrix. It has been validated by simulations that our approach can significantly reduce the implementation complexity of EBB with slight performance loss.","PeriodicalId":448094,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126566385","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering both of cycle conditions and ACE spectrum, we design the base-matrix in the framework of PEG construction. Only one base-matrix is required to support a wide rage of coding lengths for our proposed scheme, where the lifting factors are set in non-uniformly distributed values. The transmission configurations with arbitrary lengths within the coding range can be achieved by shortening and puncturing. Moreover, our proposed scheme provides better error performance than the traditional structured LDPC codes lifted by many different factors, when the shortening and puncturing patters are optimally selected by numerical methods.","PeriodicalId":448094,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126311072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes a real-time perceptual tempo estimation algorithm, which calculates the envelope autocorrelation of the music signals firstly, and then a weighted tempo function based on envelope autocorrelation is constructed to estimate the music's perceptual tempo. The weighted tempo function is computed according to the peak amplitudes and positions of the envelope autocorrelation, which can demonstrate the real-time tempo information of the music signal, and its statistics can be used to represent the rhythm of the whole piece of music. Our experiment results show that the proposed weighted tempo function is highly related to the sense of auditory rhythm, and is capable of describing the music tempo changes at real-time.","PeriodicalId":448094,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"199 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121437207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose three-layer system info of multi-domain cognition (MDC) with the characteristic of policy restriction and the capability of learning and reasoning. Especially, multi-domain local cognition (MDLC) layer performs the acquirement of mass multi-domain cognition information (CI). Integrative consideration of effective expression, efficient transfer and distributive processing, multi-domain cooperative cognition (MDCC) layer implements rational flow and fusion of CI and multi-domain initiative cognition (MDIC) layer effectively utilizes CI by prediction and reasoning. This contribution focuses on a semi-empirical large-scale fading (LSF) model, which is able to estimate signal power loss between base station and mobile phone under debris. Due to multitude of diverse materials appearing in burying scenarios, the signal loss factor varies heavily depending on electromagnetic properties of involved materials. Additionally, highly variable shape and dimension of rubbles impact strongly the loss factor. Besides numerous LSF models investigated in urban environments, only a few are in ruins. This paper presents a novel modeling concept of LSF in catastrophe scenarios. The proposed LSF model handles the radio propagation way in two parts: outside ruins and through the ruins. Measurements have been conducted at GSM 900 and GSM 1800 bands in collapsed buildings of stratified rubbles, as well as in an avalanche scenario. The model predication fits the measured data well.","PeriodicalId":448094,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121498630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the group mobility management in IPv6 over Low power Wireless Personal Area Networks (6LoWPAN) based WSN is considered and the application of network mobility (NEMO) protocol to support group mobility in WSN is discussed. A new network architecture supporting the integration of NEMO and 6LoWPAN-based WSN is proposed, the group mobility management mechanism and the corresponding signaling flow are discussed. Simulation results demonstrate that comparing to MIPv6, the application of NEMO protocol in 6LoWPAN reduces both the handoff latency and the energy consumption of sensor node.","PeriodicalId":448094,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127875502","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This approach allows proposing, by analogy to diversity combining, suboptimal algorithms which can provide near optimal characteristics for the Neyman-Pearson Test (NPT). The analysis is based on the Generalized Gaussian (Klovsky-Middleton) Channel Model, which allows obtaining the above mention NPT characteristics: probability of misdetection (PM) and probability of false alarm (Pfa) in the most general way. Some quasi-optimum algorithms such as energetic receiver and selection addition algorithm are analyzed and their comparison with the noise immunity properties (Receiver Operational Characteristics-ROC) of the optimum approach is provided as well.","PeriodicalId":448094,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130725243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are three classical schemes for cognitive radio spectrum access: the random channel assignment, the reservation based assignment and the non-random channel assignment. In this paper, we study the performance of these schemes in a new scenario: a cognitive radio network with finite primary users and infinite secondary users. We model the users' behavior in these schemes by Markov chains. Moreover, the blocking, transition and dropping probabilities of the secondary users based on the user connection rate are derived as the performance metrics. Furthermore, we evaluate the secondary system capacity of these schemes. Numerical results show that the random and non-random channel assignments can get the lowest blocking probability, the reservation based assignment can get the lowest dropping probability, and the non-random channel assignment can provide the most system capacity and avoid the channel handoff for the secondary users.","PeriodicalId":448094,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116915323","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
