From searches conducted in May 2023 in the Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed databases, 52 articles were selected, and thematic content analysis strategies were applied. The results account for various articulations between the concepts addressed, establishing a critical look at the biomedical model in mental health. In the forms of mad activism, the human rights approach, the fight against stigma and its influence on the reform processes of the mental health system become relevant. On the other hand, a framework of social justice, identity policies and practices of mutual support from the community are established. As a whole, they emphasize methodological innovations and an intersectional perspective on the production of knowledge. It is concluded that it is possible to situate madness as a field of constitution of a political actor and epistemic subject. Based on this, possible lines of research on mad activisms in Latin America are formulated.</p>","PeriodicalId":44640,"journal":{"name":"Salud Colectiva","volume":"19 ","pages":"e4627"},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2023-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC11822915/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138499737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The standards established in health policies, at times, prove to be inflexible, tending to obscure the difficulties experienced by individuals in treatment. The aim of this article is to analyze the practices of continuous health education developed by family health teams at healthcare units in Maré, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in cases of tuberculosis treatment interruption. An exploratory qualitative study was conducted with twelve healthcare professionals from the team between August and November 2021. The findings from this research regard continuous health education as a strategy to enhance care processes, fostered through the lived experiences of the healthcare workers, enabling the creation of knowledge and exchanges that expand the effective treatment of tuberculosis with creativity and flexibility in the dynamics of interactions with users. White, an economist, epidemiologist, statistician, general physician, and health advocate, was highly critical of the separation between research, clinical practice, epidemiology, public health, and health policies. He was one of the pioneers in healthcare services research. His primary concern was society's responsibility to allocate healthcare resources in the most appropriate way to improve the health of populations. White's work critically addresses the absence of a population perspective in epidemiology applied to healthcare services and systems, and the lack of evaluation of the social and economic impact of practices. From a bioethical perspective, the relevance of social participation in health has been emphasized due to its positive effects at the level of social groups, the healthcare structure, and democratic political systems. To ensure social participation in health, bioethics advocates for the incorporation of deliberation as a tool for making binding decisions. The aim of this essay is to reflect on social participation in the history of Chile's healthcare system from a bioethical perspective. The main reflections indicate that participation is consultative in nature, lacking deliberation and, therefore, the distribution of power. Additionally, social participation has been redefined under the label of \"citizen,\" promoting an instrumental, individual, and client-oriented character in healthcare. To subvert this situation, it is necessary to incorporate bioethical reflections into the healthcare structure to enable communities to consistently influence the healthcare system.","PeriodicalId":44640,"journal":{"name":"Salud Colectiva","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136022895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

En primer lugar, presento los conceptos de técnica, tecnología y objeto técnico, centrales en las teorías de Álvaro Vieira Pinto y Milton Santos. En segundo lugar, a partir de la filosofía de la información de Luciano Floridi, cuestiono la pertinencia de la dicotomía real-material-concreto versus digital-virtual-informacional como fundamento ontológico de los conceptos de realidad, lugar y presencia, destacando las nociones de realidad virtual y realidad extendida. En tercer lugar, introduzco una crítica etimológica e histórica de la serie presencia-telepresencia-metapresencia, enfocando la noción emergente de metapresencialidad en forma de protoconcepto y su eventual formalización como fundamento conceptual para una apropiación sociotécnica y una integración tecnosocial de las tecnologías digitales.
