However, as in many other areas, this potential is not fully exploited in viticulture and wine sector. This study examined the development of vineyard areas and grape production in the world and in Turkey over the last 51 years, assessing Turkey's contribution to grape production on the basis of regions and provinces. According to world statistics, Turkey is one of the leading countries in terms of production area and quantity of product. Turkey has 390.221 ha of vineyards and a total production of 3.670.000 tonnes of fresh grapes. These figures place the country 5th in the world in terms of vineyard area and 6th in terms of total production. Although Turkey has a good position in terms of raisin production and market share, one cannot speak of the same situation for table grapes, wine grapes and wine markets. Therefore, it is considered that for the development of production and marketing of grapes and wine products, a foreign trade policy should be developed rapidly.","PeriodicalId":446361,"journal":{"name":"Tekirdag Viticulture Research Institute","volume":"135 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130587801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The skin, fruit flesh and seeds of grape varieties were analyzed separately by using spectrophotometric methods. As a result, in this study conducted; It has been determined that grape varieties are rich in phenolic compounds and their content differs from each other. Comparison of the white and colored varieties showed that total phenolic compound and anthocyanin contents of colored varieties were higher in skin, flesh and seed. Besides, this study determined that total tannin content of colored varieties was higher in skin and flesh, while it was at the same level in seeds of both colored and white varieties. Moreover, the study revealed that different climatic structures have an effect on the accumulation of phenolic compounds in the berry over the years.","PeriodicalId":446361,"journal":{"name":"Tekirdag Viticulture Research Institute","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123628470","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this review is to introduce the applied techniques in decreasing the time period and manage the physiological stage of vine cuttings by simultaneously manipulating the temperature of two nodes of the same cuttings in order to stimulate roots and inhibit shoot formation for vegetative propagation. To avoid mold and other bacterial diseases, antifungal and antibacterial treatment is applied. In asymptomatic situations, all cuttings should be treated with hot water before carrying out the rooting process. The cuttings are exposed to soilless aseptic hydrated media to maintain thermal isolation for emergence of root callus, at 25–27 °C during 3-4 weeks. Meanwhile, spatial temperature under 1 °C may result in chilly stress. More than 2 °C may have a significant influence on cutting performance, and above 4 °C stimulate microbial activity. Therefore, the system must maintain between 2-4 °C. This technique provides to viticulture farmers for regulation of root development and disease-free cuttings in a short time period.","PeriodicalId":446361,"journal":{"name":"Tekirdag Viticulture Research Institute","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122168461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the potential of using organic materials as organic fertilizers is important in the evaluation of agricultural industry wastes in plant nutrition. This experiment was carried out during the 2014-2015-2016 and 2017 growing seasons to evaluate the effects of grape marc and olive pomace organic wastes on nutrition of grapes of cv. Kalecik Karası and Narince ( Vitis vinifera L.) in the experimental vineyards of Tekirdağ Viticulture Research Institute in Turkey. Grape marc and olive pomace were applied to the soil once in 2014 as industrial waste, without being processed. TF 1 and TF 2 represent control applications of without and with standard chemical fertilizer. GM 1 , GM 2 , GM 3 , OP 1 , OP 2 , OP 3 applications represent 10 ton ha -1 , 20 ton ha -1 and 40 ton ha -1 doses of grape marc and olive pomace. Based on the data obtained, it has been concluded that the applications of grape marc and olive pomace as organic material did not cause significant reductions in the nutrient content of the grapevines compared to the traditional plant nutrition, and do not adversely affect the nutrition contents of the grapevine.","PeriodicalId":446361,"journal":{"name":"Tekirdag Viticulture Research Institute","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127663792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was carried out in the period 2017-2019 with monitoring of the weather factors over the years. The treatment with herbicides was performed on an annual basis, during the last week of May, as they were introduced into the intra-row stripe once, with a backpack sprayer. For comparison, a non-herbicide treated control variant was used. The treated variants did not exceed the control for the sugar content of the grapes. The sugar ratio decreased in the order Control>V3 Guild>V2 Lumax 358 SK>V1 Pledge 50 VP. The most favorable in terms of sugar accumulation in grapes was 2019. The alcohol content of the wines was in correlation with the sugars in the grapes. Regarding the sugar-free extract in 2017 and 2018, with the exception of the variant treated with Pledge 50 VP, the rest exceeded the control, while in 2019 it had the highest rate. The total phenolic compounds in wines varied from 2.62±0.84 to 2.73±0.93 g L. Their change increased in the order Control<Pledge 50 VP<Lumax 358 SK<Guild. In 2018 and 2019 the control was with the lowest rates of anthocyanins while in 2017 only the variant treated with Guild exceeded it. No negative effect of the tested herbicides on the organoleptic profile of the obtained wines was established in the dose in which they were applied. In many developed or developing countries, agricultural production is carried out in limited areas since lands opened up for agriculture are being lost day by day due to urbanization and drought. For this reason, in order to obtain the amount of agricultural production that will meet the demanded food of the population throughout the world, practices that promote productivity are carried out and efforts are made to eliminate yield losing factors. Many abiotic and biotic factors are involved in deacricing agricultural yield, and one of these factors is plant parasitic nematodes (Luc et al., 2005b). Plant parasitic nematodes belong to phylum Nematoda, the most abundant group of invertebrates with about 30.000 known species. Based on feeding habitat nematodes are classified into 5 groups; fungivores that feed with fungi, bacterivores that feed with bacteria, predators, omnivores and plant parasitic herbivores (Kennedy and Luna, 2004). Approximately 15% of identified nematodes are plant parasitic herbivores and these are the largest group with 250 nematode species from 43 genera harmful to plants and 126 species from 33 genera included in the quarantine list of several countries (Lambert and Bekal, 2002; Singh et al., 2013). Herbivore nematodes that feed on stem, leaf, flower, seed and root of plants were divided into 3 groups (ectoparasite, endoparasite, semi endoparasite) based on feeding behavior. Ectoparasite nematodes feed on an external surfaces without entering into plant roots. Endoparasites totally enters roots while semi endoparasites insert only the head region into root cells to feed (Decreamer and Hunt, 2006). Although many plant parasitic nematodes have been identified in agricultural areas the economically most harmful species include in genera of Heterodera, Globodera, Meloidogyne, Pratylenchus and Ditylenchus (Brown, 1984; Smiley, 2009; Janati et al., 2018). They belong to the Black Sea ecological-geographic group (Proles pontica Negr.). The Gamza and Mavrud varieties are late ripening, and the Wide Melnik vine variety is a very late ripening variety. The varieties described possess high fertility of replacement and dormant buds. The Gamza variety is widespread and shows the best agrobiological and technological qualities only in Central and Western Northern Bulgaria. It is sensitive to low winter temperatures and can only be grown as low-stemmed (dwarf) in these areas. The Mavrud variety is widespread and cultivated in the Plovdiv region, mainly in the Asenovgrad microdistrict, where it is zoned and shows its agrobiological and technological qualities best, and on smaller areas in the Pazardzhik and Stara Zagora regions. The grapes of the Mavroud variety are mainly used for the production of high quality dry black wines. The wines develop their qualities after 2-3 years of aging in wooden barrels. Wide Melnik variety is widespread in the southern part of the South-Western wine-growing region, where it is also zoned. It requires a high amount of vegetation temperature, develops and bears fruit well in microregions with high (above 4.000 °C) vegetation temperature, on hilly terrain with southern exposure and soils with light mechanical composition. It is one of the original Bulgarian varieties for the production of red wines. In addition to the effects of the vine plant on civilizations in history, today the economic value produced from grape and grape products distinguishes it financially from other plant species. Anatolia is a central point in the journey of Vitis species. The South Caucasus (GeorgiaAzerbaijan-Armenia) and the Fertile Crescent regions are accepted as the vine's homeland. Thus, these areas played a significant role in the cultivation and distribution of grapes. Genetic diversity also led to the diversification of usage purposes and has been an essential resource for breeding studies. Sultana is preferably the most dried grape variety around the world, but there is a need for candidates with different characteristics that can be grown in different conditions where the Sultana is not grown. In our study, the drying kinetics and quality properties of 5 different types of candidates that can be evaluated as raisins, obtained through breeding studies in Tekirdag Viticulture Research Institute, were examined. Among these candidate varieties, the 43*B-103 variety candidate, which is the second in sensory evaluation score and has the least drying time stands out. The bioactive component properties of two of the candidate varieties (40*D-17 and 40*D-160) were found better than Sultana, too. At the same time, these two grapes were dried in a shorter time than Sultana.
