Este artigo procura analisar as interpretações discursivas e aproximações ao conceito de sustentabilidade urbana em uma intervenção de habitação de interesse social oriunda do Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento (PAC) em Belém (PA), a partir do Projeto de Trabalho Técnico Social (PTTS), visando estabelecer nexos de sustentabilidade entre a população atendida pelo Programa durante a realização das obras da intervenção – o Projeto Taboquinha, localizado no distrito de Icoaraci. Foi utilizada pesquisa qualitativa a partir dos projetos técnicos, documentos, além de entrevistas semiestruturadas com técnicos elaboradores e executores. Percebe-se que em relação à sustentabilidade, tomando por base a categoria lazer, foco do estudo, o Projeto reproduz espaços sem relação com as vivências materiais e substantivas dos sujeitos atendidos, desconsiderando suas necessidades e práticas cotidianas.","PeriodicalId":444694,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Urban Technology and Sustainability","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127918031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The concern about the pollution derived from the construction industry has brought attention to the need of developing more sustainable construction materials and processes. Admixtures based on nanometric graphene oxide have the potential to enhance mechanical properties and durability of cementitious composites. In this context, an experimental program was conducted to evaluate how the addition of graphene oxide may be used to reduce cement content in concretes, maintaining the same mechanical properties of conventional concretes (control matrices, with no graphene oxide additions). Kinetics of hydration of cement pastes was evaluated by isothermal calorimetry, phase evolution during hydration was determined by X-ray diffraction coupled with quantitative Rietveld analysis and mechanical properties were evaluated by compressive strength. Results indicate that graphene oxide additions provide a faster hydration rate until 24 h and generate a larger amount of C-S-H gel, increasing mechanical strength of the matrix. By the addition of graphene oxide dispersion (0.4% of solid content) at 0.02% by cement weight, cement content reductions of up to 15% may be achieved, maintaining the same compressive strength as the control matrices. From this research, a reduction in cement content to obtain more sustainable construction materials and processes may be achieved.","PeriodicalId":444694,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Urban Technology and Sustainability","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124534163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ca(OH)2 is produced after cement/water reaction and the macromolecules tend to disturb the hydration process, after the latex demulsification, by covering the cement particle. The free water decreases due to the high hydrophilicity of demulsified SBR, where final gel values increased up to 67%. The slump diameter was decreased exponentially by increasing the latex content limiting the workability. SBR-modified slurries presented a Pseudoplastic non-Newtonian flow behavior and the plastic viscosity decreases gradually, while the yield stress values registered a progressive increment by adding SBR till 10%.","PeriodicalId":444694,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Urban Technology and Sustainability","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114808251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Results show that the compressive strength and elastic modulus of the composite significantly reduce with the increase in temperature, independent of the specimen shape. Additionally, a significant difference in the compressive strength and elastic modulus conversion factors for cube-cylinder was verified with the increase in temperature. This study contributes to the limited amount of studies regarding the effect of elevated temperatures on steel fiber reinforced concretes and shows that the elevated temperatures may have a significant effect in the conversion factors for cube-cylinder.","PeriodicalId":444694,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Urban Technology and Sustainability","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114179571","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some researchers argue that adhesion is obtained mainly by mechanical interlocking, while othersclaim that adhesion is obtained mainly by increasing the contact surface. To provide this increase in the contact surface, some studies indicate the use of surface modifiers on the back of the ceramic plate. Thus, this research aimed to evaluate the influence of surface treatment on tensile strength. The research showed that factors such as the polymer content of the adhesive mortar, the absorption and the roughness of the ceramic back were more influential in the tensile strength than the use of the mentioned surface treatments.","PeriodicalId":444694,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Urban Technology and Sustainability","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122515031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
