The research purpose was to determine the validity and test-retest reliability of of a kinesthetic perception test for blind people. The test consists of placing both the feet correctly on 4 square targets (5 cm thick) placed on the right, left, front, and back, at a distance of 100 cm from the initial position that is located in the middle, following the audio stimulus with a time limit of 10 seconds per repetition. The researchers used 3 experts to evaluate the validity of the test. The test-retest reliability was evaluated in a total of 50 people who were totally blind. Aiken V coefficient was used to test the validity and Cronbach’s alpha correlation test was used to test the test retest reliability. The research results showed a value of Aiken V of 0.86 > 0.77, and a reliability of 0.816 > 0.60. Therefore, it can be concluded that the kinesthetic perception test for blind people presented in this manuscript is valid and reliable.","PeriodicalId":44430,"journal":{"name":"Sport TK-Revista Euroamericana de Ciencias del Deporte","volume":"379 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77877461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study was to identify and explain the reasons for women’s participation in football in Indonesia. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 29 female athletes of the Indonesian women’s national football team using the Participation Motivation Questionnaire (PMQ) assessed by Guttman scale. The data was analyzed using a descriptive percentage approach and then grouped based on participation criteria. The results showed that more than half of the women participants in football in Indonesia were 17 years old (53%) and had a senior high school education (66%). Most of the time, women participants were encouraged by peers (87%), parents (86%), facilities and infrastructures (97%), awareness (76%), interest (79%), attachment (87%), and loyalty (90%). Participation rates were also influenced by the existence of football clubs (100%) and the training programs implemented (100%). It is concluded that women’s football participation in Indonesia is largely influenced by micro-level factors (peers and parents), macro-level factors (existence of football clubs, their facilities and infrastructures, and their training programs), and psycho-sociological factors (awareness, interest, attachment and loyalty).","PeriodicalId":44430,"journal":{"name":"Sport TK-Revista Euroamericana de Ciencias del Deporte","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79486678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

LDH is believed to be the root cause of 60-80 percent of low back pain cases over a lifetime. Objective: The current study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of different dissimilar manual therapy techniques (Mulligan’s spinal mobilization with leg movement versus McKenzie technique) in patients with lumbar disc herniation. Design: The present study is a randomized control trial in which 45 individuals diagnosed with LDH were recruited as the participants of the study (mean age 48.54 ± 5.8 years). The participants were randomly allocated into three groups, with n=15 in each group. Intervention: Participants of the group A (Experimental group A) received Mulligan spinal mobilization with leg movement and T.E.N.S. (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation). Group B (Experimental group B) participants received McKenzie technique. Group C (control group) participants only received T.E.N.S. for four weeks. All patients in the three groups received 3 sessions each week. Pain, functional disability, and the H reflex were the primary outcome measures. The visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to assess pain, the Oswestry disability scale was used to assess functional disability, and electromyography was used to assess the H reflex. Results: Significant improvements were seen in the participants of group A, with reduction in the intensity and severity of pain, decreased level of functional disability and improvement in the H reflex, in comparison with other groups. Conclusion: Spinal mobilization with leg movement was more effective than McKenzie technique and TENS to reduce pain and functional disability, and to improve the H reflex, in individuals suffering from lumbar disc herniation.","PeriodicalId":44430,"journal":{"name":"Sport TK-Revista Euroamericana de Ciencias del Deporte","volume":"300 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.6,"publicationDate":"2022-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89799345","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
