One of them is the Air Tiris Great Mosque in Kampar, which must be preserved from the initial stages of growth because it is a tourist destination and an item of cultural heritage. This article aims to verify the calibration of the Qibla direction of the oldest mosque in Kampar and the techniques employed by earlier scholars in measuring their Qibla direction using field investigations and data sources from observations and interviews. This article concludes that the Qibla direction is accurate and correct, the Air Tiris Grand Mosque was established in 1901, and that it has never undergone renovation. When the global Qibla direction was wrapped in religious intuition, the cleric at the time, Datuk Engku Mudo Songkal, used the sun's shadow to bring religious intuition and scientific truth together.","PeriodicalId":444196,"journal":{"name":"Al-Hilal: Journal of Islamic Astronomy","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126449939","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Muslims used the phenomenon of a solar eclipse as the season for prayer, which was only carried out during a solar eclipse from early in the phenomenon until the end. Although there is no statistically significant difference in estimating a solar eclipse, as the seasons change, a solar eclipse becomes increasingly important. Lots of alternatives can be used as a reference in the determination of a solar eclipse. Among the alternatives commonly used is the calculation of spherical astronomy. The question of how to identify the prayer times and the direction of the Qibla emerges when a Muslim is in space. The aim of this paper is to identify the Qibla direction and prayer times in outer space. This qualitative article is based on a literature study. According to some of the findings of the scholars' ijtihād, Muslim astronauts could fly to Cape Canaveral depending on where they last left the earth, or they could follow the Greenwich Time or the Mecca prayer timetable. There are four alternatives for Qibla direction according to A Guideline for Performing Prayer at the International Space Station (ISS): addressing the earth, facing the projection of the Kaaba in the sky, approaching the earth, or facing everywhere.","PeriodicalId":444196,"journal":{"name":"Al-Hilal: Journal of Islamic Astronomy","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133267570","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper adopts a qualitative method to describe the precise technique and strategy of its application for direction identification through the selection of several Stars, Satellites, Constellations and Coordinate which are visible both from the northern and southern parts of the northern Nigeria sky. On the other hand, several challenges were identified to affect the development of science in different dimensions such as total dependence on artificial innovative devices which may very well have limitations. These two different determinations can be easily identified using the contextual method (calculation). The data needed in calculation is the high value of the Sun, so the thought of Ahmad Ghazali, an astronomer from Madura, explained about the height of the Sun based on two schools of thought. This provides a treasure of knowledge to someone in determining the entry of prayer times based on madhhab, just by looking at the clock. The type of method used in this study is qualitative field research with a descriptive approach, the aim is to describe Ahmad Ghazali's thoughts and to analyze in the field the given method. In this modern era, the implementation of Rukyatul Hilal can be done using instruments such as Hilal locater, telescope and theodolite. However, these tools are quite expensive and have a fairly heavy load and require long time to prepare. Therefore, this research provides breakthroughs and new innovations in designing the Rukyatul Hilal Instrument based on Arduino. The research uses the Research and Development model type of research, the development model that the researcher will do is to develop an Arduino Microcontroller so that it can be used as a Rukyatul Hilal Instrument. Based on 4 observations of the Moon, The Arduino-based Rukyatul Hilal instrument can successfully show the position of the Moon and verify the data used by the author is correct and the author can also photograph the image of the Moon clearly using a smartphone. These observations led us to get some estimates about morning twilight, as it is necessary to determine the time of the True Dawn (Al-Fajr Prayer Time). this research aims to determine the correct time of Al-Fajr Prayer by finding the accurate angle of the sun vertical depression below the horizon that is associated with legitimate mark. The Methode used in this research was field research while the observations have been recorded by monitoring the first white thread on the eastern horizon (True Dawn) that announces the time of the Morning Prayer (Al-Fajr Prayer). The azimuthally range of observation about the solar vertical extends from 0° up to ±20°, while the phenomenon was followed from 0° up to 20° along the altitudinal range. This research gives a result that a beginning of the morning twilight is estimated to be around 13.5° depression of the sun below the horizon. This value can reach a minimum depression around 11.5° at low visibility and a maximum around 13.5° at a very god visibility.","PeriodicalId":444196,"journal":{"name":"Al-Hilal: Journal of Islamic Astronomy","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128990313","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
