But improper concealment by these PLC techniques result in unreliable observations that contribute adversely to the Viterbi decoding step and result in misrecognitions. We propose a graphical model based decoding architecture that can skip unreliable observations and hence the corresponding states, so that recognition accuracy improves in spite of improper concealment. Experimental validation of the proposed skip decoder is carried out using the loss-concealed speech samples of isolated words. Lots of techniques have developed so far, still research is going on to find better solution in terms of optimality and computational ease. In this work  an algorithm based on binary particle swarm optimization (bPSO) is proposed for feature subset selection. The approach of biometric image fusion at sensor level refers to a process that fuses multispectral images captured at different resolutions and by different biometric sensors to acquire richer and complementary information to produce a new fused image in spatially enhanced form. When the fused image is ready for further processing, SIFT operator are then used for feature extraction and the recognition is performed by adjustable structural graph matching between a pair of fused images by searching corresponding points using recursive descent tree traversal approach. In this paper, we establish the corner correspondence between two images in the presence of intensity variations and motion blur by using a fuzzy theory based similarity measure. The matching approach proposed by us needs to extract set of corner points as candidates from both the frames. The core idea of the proposed scheme is to decompose an image into four frequency sub-bands using D-MR-DCT and then singular values of every sub-band are modified with the singular values of the watermark. The features are extracted from skeletonizsed images. But the presence of parasitic components in the image will degrade the performance of the pattern recognition system. So there arise needs for a pruning method to produce skeletons that are in accordance with human visual perception. The skeleton pruning by contour portioning with discrete curve evolution (DCE) showed that it never produce spurious branches. Moreover, this method doesn’t displace skeleton points. Consequently, all skeleton points are centers of maximal disks. Even in the presence of significant noise and shape variations, this approach gave same topology as that of original skeletons. SIFT is used to extract the features on a ear images at different pose, which is then merged according to a fusion rule to produce a single feature called the Fused Template. The similarity of SIFT extracted features of the live image and the enrolled user template in the database is measured by their Euclidean distance. IITK database is used to validate the performance of the proposed method. Guhathakurta","doi":"10.1109/ICAPR.2009.24","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICAPR.2009.24","url":null,"abstract":"Attempts to predict long-range monsoon rainfall over the subdivision EPMB, Three layer perception feed forward back propagation deterministic and probabilistic artificial neural network models have been developed. 61 years data for 1945–2006 have been used, of which the first 51 years (1945–1995) of data are used for training the network and data for the period 1996–2006 are used independently for validation. We have found that the mean absolute deviation (% of mean) of the model is less than and half of the standard deviation (% of mean) in the independent period (1996-2006) of the subdivision in deterministic forecast. Correlation between actual and particular model predicted values are more than 0.8 for the districts and 0.7 for the whole subdivision in deterministic forecast. However performance of the model in probabilistic forecast is better evaluated over deterministic forecast.
