Motivation: Aligning ongoing IT projects to strategies and business goals, as well as monitoring deliverables' results and Service Level Agreements (SLA) defined in contracts is a challenging task for IT service organizations. Objective: This paper presents an application of SINIS and GQM + Strategies methods for organizational alignment and definition of goals, strategies and indicators for IT services. Method: We performed a case study in a service management team of a Brazilian large public IT organization. Results: We could properly identify and explain the relation between business goals, indicators, strategies and existing SLA and suggested improvements for SINIS method. Conclusion: SINIS and GQM+Strategies helped organization to provide a clear, explicit and common understanding of IT service goals and how they are related to ongoing strategies, contracts and respective SLA. Besides, SINIS helped the organization on defining a monitoring mechanism for goals achievement by defining proper and relevant indicators, measurement plans and interpretation models for decision making.","PeriodicalId":443823,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVII Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131737386","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A problem that aggravates this situation involves the fact that web accessibility requirements are often addressed when the application is fully developed. Such delayed processing often results in significant rework, increasing costs with new recoding analyzes, which may be totally outside the scope and budget of the project. As we believe that the need for accessibility may vary according to the users and their context, in this article, we approach a strategy to promote web accessibility in legacy systems through the use of software awareness. In this process of reengineering, we deal with the interaction of web accessibility with another nonfunctional requirement: Software Awareness. In this way, we use self-adaptation strategies to provide customized accessibility. As a result of our strategy, we present a hybrid SIG (Softgoal Interdependency Graphs) containing the requirements of accessibility and software awareness, based on the concepts of the NFR Framework, and its application in reengineering a real system based on Android.","PeriodicalId":443823,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVII Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116663273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Brazil organizations involved with software development frequently adopt this multi-model approach using the MR-MPS-SW and the CMMI-DEV models. In order to support these organizations previous work carried out the mapping of these two models. The advent of version 2.0 of CMMI-DEV model has become necessary to conduct a new mapping. This article describes an initial experience of mapping MR-MPS-SW:2016 and CMMI-DEV v 2.0, which showed the feasibility of the harmonization of the two models.","PeriodicalId":443823,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVII Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality","volume":"15 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126982871","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The commonly adopted technologies for usability assessment can be divided into two broad categories: Inspection, in which inspectors examine aspects of the application to detect violations of usability principles; and Test, in which users interact with the application in search of usability problems. In this paper, we report a practical experience of two usability evaluations carried out during the process of developing of a web application, one before the implementation of the web application (usability inspection) and another after the application is ready (usability testing). The results show the possibility of companies evaluating usability before and after application implementation with low cost.","PeriodicalId":443823,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVII Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality","volume":"36 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130478196","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This fact expanded the number of Software Process Lines (SPrL) researches based on concepts derived from the Software Product Line approach. However, SPrL is still incipient with regard to existing literature providing de facto empirical studies on comparing SPrL variability modeling capabilities. In this context, approaches such as SMartySPEM and vSPEM, both based on the Metamodel Software and System Process Engineering Metamodel (SPEM), were proposed as annotative mechanisms for variabilities representation in SPrL. We compared SMartySPEM and vSPEM for comprehensibility and variability mechanism in a previous controlled quasi-experiment. Results from such study suggested further investigation on variability modeling of both approaches. Therefore, this paper presents an empirical study, which qualitatively compares such approaches based on Modularity, Traceability, Error Detection, Granularity, Adoption and Systematic Variability Management. Experts were invited to contribute to our study. Their feedback was analyzed based on Grounded Theory procedures, such as Coding. Results provided initial evidence SMartySPEM had better results compared to vSPEM, except for the Adoption criterion. In addition, several points of improvement for SMartySPEM were highlighted.","PeriodicalId":443823,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVII Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133914121","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An essential tool for this is Function Point Analysis (FPA). This makes it important for students to have contact with this technique as early as possible. Thus, this study aims to use the concepts of gamification to stimulate the support for teaching and engaging students' motivation in the subject of Software Quality taught in the graduate course in computer science at UFPA. For this, classes were defined to teach the FPA technique that used elements of games as motivation for the students. Therefore, this research resulted in an enrichment of the knowledge of these students in the practice of estimation, commonly present and recommended the use in software quality models, such as MR-MPS-SW. This work focuses on contributing to the teaching of the FPA technique for students, aiming at a better preparation for the software development market. It was also verified that the use of gamification elements for the teaching of this estimation technique was efficient, since the participating students were more dedicated to the tasks and were participative in all the different types of classes.","PeriodicalId":443823,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the XVII Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122594479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
