Especially, we assume a WDM LAN of passive star topology which uses the MCA for the control information exchange. The station network interface includes three tunable receivers in order to face the packets rejection at destination due to the receiver conflicts. An efficient WDMA protocol is adopted that significantly reduces the control packets collisions, while it totally avoids the data packets loss over the data channels. The system performance measures are analytically derived based on a Markovian model. Numerical results are studied for diverse numbers of control channels. Comparative results study proves the performance improvement that the proposed network interface configuration provides, as compared to the single receiver per station case.","PeriodicalId":442547,"journal":{"name":"2017 Fourteenth International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131493187","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed approach aims to find the MCDS by implementing a distributed non-greedy Affinity Propagation-driven Multiple Weighted Clustering technique followed by co-operative selection of gateways using QoS metrics. The QoS metric considered in this approach is a weighted aggregate of node lifespan and inter-node interference particularly directed to choose nodes having higher longevity and enduring minimum interference as the gateways. The simulation results in NS2 reveal that the proposed approach scales down the MCDS by 26% and realises 18% and 21% better energy efficiency and bandwidth utilisation respectively during inter-cluster communication.","PeriodicalId":442547,"journal":{"name":"2017 Fourteenth International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN)","volume":"43 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129664914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sarvaiya","doi":"10.1109/WOCN.2017.8065843","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/WOCN.2017.8065843","url":null,"abstract":"One of the primary aims of Optimization is to hunt the best entity from the available set of choice without explicitly assessing them. A new design, efficient outcome and cost effective solution is the outcome of optimization. Radio network planning is the basic seed required for configuring the base station parameters to attain the desired Quality of Service. The tuning of the radio network parameters like power control parameter, radius, tilt, azimuth orientation, cost etc. is a composite task, as majority of parameters are interdependent on each other. Optimization of these radio network parameters is the solution for the effective deployment of the network. Conventional optimizing algorithms like non-linear programming, Steepest Ascent, Golden Search, Newton Raphson, Quadratic programming etc are local search techniques which may stuck at local optimum. These techniques do not work for multi-modal functions and leads to degraded outcome if input parameters are misconfigured. To overcome this condition, modern optimization techniques like Genetic Algorithm, Particle Swarm Optimization, Simulated Annealing and Taguchi's Method of Optimization have been discussed in this paper. These meta-heuristic search techniques have been compared based on the exploration of search space, performance characteristics and computational intricacy. It is shown that Taguchi's method of Optimization has a comparable performance in terms of less iterations and control outcome.","PeriodicalId":442547,"journal":{"name":"2017 Fourteenth International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121655914","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
