The outer loop employs a PI subsystem designed to maintain the average LED current regulated at the reference value, which depends on the desired output dimming. On the other hand, the APDR subsystem is designed to strictly reject the bus voltage ripple and limit its transmission to the LED current and voltage. Experimental results show the proposed controller feasibility in achieving good tracking behavior, reduced output current ripple, robustness against parametric variations, and simple design and implementation.","PeriodicalId":442384,"journal":{"name":"2021 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference (COBEP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131749545","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The power conversion system consists of a bidirectional dc-dc converter as an additional stage for regulating the dc-link voltage of the dc-ac converter, which is connected to a three-wire three-phase system. The grid power control is implemented based on the instantaneous $pq$ theory, in order to achieve low-frequency demand from the power control of the batteries. Thus, the power peaks are automatically provided by the supercapacitors. From this solution, a smaller battery size, a longer battery life and a higher overall system efficiency can be achieved compared to a conventional battery ESS. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed system, simulation results are presented, and a comparison between the conventional battery ESS and the proposed solution is also presented.","PeriodicalId":442384,"journal":{"name":"2021 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference (COBEP)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115051114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The VSIs structures are composed of power-sharing, voltage, and current controllers that dictate the dynamics performance of the microgrid. The tuning of the controllers is modeled as an optimization problem. This procedure involves minimizing a cost function based on a weighted sum of deviations between instantaneous and nominal active/reactive powers, inner control loop errors, control signals saturation, active power-sharing errors, and the total harmonic distortion of the output voltages. It is considered an eigenvalue stability analysis based on a complete autonomous microgrid small-signal model for defining the search range of the optimization parameters by combining three major sub-modules: droop-controlled three-phase VSIs, network and loads, in conjunction with the frequency response method in terms of phase margin and 0dB crossover frequency. Simulation results are obtained to evidencing the effectiveness of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":442384,"journal":{"name":"2021 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference (COBEP)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130899304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main reason to implement a filter is to mitigate the harmonic components introduced by the inverter, that could damage the machine isolation, and to reduce the reflected wave created by the long cables. However, this strategy introduces a resonance, which can lead to instabilities in current control. This issue can be mitigated by introducing resistive elements, which causes additional losses. In order to avoid these losses, the filter resistors can be suppressed if an active damping strategy is used. In this work, a design method for passive and active damping based on capacitor current measurement is presented. The parameters are selected based on root locus method. Finally, a comparison between both strategies is described.","PeriodicalId":442384,"journal":{"name":"2021 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference (COBEP)","volume":"75 2 Suppl 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128454805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, this paper analyzes different techniques for voltage regulation of a distribution system with a high level of photovoltaic penetration (PV). The strategy is to use a battery energy storage system (BESS) in parallel to the PV generation point to promote power support to the grid, and to control the voltage level of the system. Two control strategies will be investigated. The first one controls the system voltage by adjusting the power flowing directly through the BESS. The second one provides voltage support by controlling the resulting power flowing between the PV generation and the BESS to the grid. The contribution of this paper is the comparison between these two methodologies in voltage regulation. These analyses were done through the Simulink/Matlab software using the Cigré 18 Bus Distribution system.","PeriodicalId":442384,"journal":{"name":"2021 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference (COBEP)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133175827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, unlike most of the work developed with the OCC technique, the digital implementation using DSP TMS320F28335 from Texas Instruments was used. The objective of implementing this proposal is the obtain a sinusoidal current at the input of the rectifier with a power factor as close as feasible to the unit, although the output of the rectifier is controlled at a fixed voltage value. Thus, simulations were performed to evaluate the proposed system, and empirical results were verified in a laboratory prototype.","PeriodicalId":442384,"journal":{"name":"2021 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference (COBEP)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133380380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the fact that these drive systems have already been discussed in the literature, the reported papers always make use of either Field-Oriented-Control (FOC)- or Switching- Table-Direct- Torque-Control (ST-DTC)-based fault compensation strategies. In this way, performed simulations show that Modulated DTC provides proper fault-tolerant performance for all studied configu-rations. Also, a comparison between ST-DTC and Modu-lated DTC for all discussed drives systems is performed, showing that Modulated DTC provides better dynamic response when the systems migrate from healthy to post-fault operation, reaching lower peak current values during transient-state operation.","PeriodicalId":442384,"journal":{"name":"2021 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference (COBEP)","volume":"370 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122150609","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
