Two control strategies will be investigated. The first one controls the system voltage by adjusting the power flowing directly through the BESS. The second one provides voltage support by controlling the resulting power flowing between the PV generation and the BESS to the grid. The contribution of this paper is the comparison between these two methodologies in voltage regulation. Abstract

With the growth of distributed generation in distribution systems, problems related to voltage levels start to appear in the grid. In this context, this paper analyzes different techniques for voltage regulation of a distribution system with a high level of photovoltaic penetration (PV).
