Through a rigorous examination of its publications and of references to it in the contemporary press, we reconstruct its regular meetings, conferences and proposals on customs reform. As a first result, we illustrate the singularity of the Asociacion, which was more than a mere transposition of the Free-Trade Congress of Brussels in 1856. Secondly, we call into question the traditional vision of an Asociacion where different political parties live in harmony. To that effect, patents held in place for more than ten years had been use as an indicator. These patents —whether by its value or quality— provide a more accurate view on innovation. A detailed analysis of patent records still a relevant source not only to deep delve into the role of the patent system but also to the characteristics and peculiarities of the technical progress of innovation in outlying countries. Moreover, the article seeks to explore the forerunners of this process as well as the dynamics involved in the patent renewal. Regarding this last phase, this paper focuses on company «management» of labour, related to its production strategies in specific geological conditions and socioeconomic context. In interaction with this, analysis also looks at workers answers and emphasizes about the dynamic of reciprocal adaptations which is revealed by the evolution of working conditions, its changes and continuities. Better times for miners came quite late and were short-lived. This institution was one of the mainstays of the treaty port system, and its archives contain information about the Sino-Spanish trade and the Spanish population that lived in China, as well as their economic activities. Its function was to guarantee the conditions of free trade that China had signed with the foreign powers. However, despite the Spanish presence and the participation of this community in the custom service, the Sino-Spanish trade remained weak and with a negative balance for Spain. This article aims to point out the relationship between space and economic development, from the concept of territory of progress. We understand that «territories of progress» are those spaces which assimilate organizational patterns, technological trends and trade patterns of the most advanced regions in a particular historical moment. The case study is Andalusia, a region of southwestern Europe, between 1886 and 1959. First, we locate the economic activity in local business systems. Subsequently, we identified those business systems became territories of progress, using indicators of network theory. Este articulo analiza el trabajo infantil en la indianeria barcelonesa del setecientos y muestra como algunas de las «rupturas» atribuidas a la Revolucion Industrial, en realidad, ya habian comenzado a fraguarse mucho antes en dicha industria manufacturera. Para ello, hemos recurrido a las listas salariales de las empresas del sector, la correspondencia fabril, las estadisticas oficiales, los tratados tecnicos y la prensa. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que la gran flexibilidad del trabajo infantil fue el principal reclamo para una demanda cuyas necesidades eran cambiantes y diversas. It is a very important phenomenon in the Spanish financial history, where banks have dominated the scene with the formation of large groups with subsidiaries in the industry and the financial services. The bank-industry relationship has earned much attention, but the bancassurance relationship has never been studied in depth. This work analyzes, with archival sources, the Hispano-Estrella case, i.e., the relationship established between the Banco Hispano Americano, which led its ranking for many years, and La Estrella, an insurance company that at times was second in its ranking. A traves del analisis de las principales magnitudes bancarias esta investigacion plantea que la plaza financiera andorrana actuo como refugio de capitales extranjeros en epocas de inestabilidad economica. Una vez cubiertas las necesidades financieras domesticas, el excedente de capital se transfirio al mercado internacional, haciendo posible la obtencion de mayores rentabilidades. El estudio de esta nueva fuente cuantitativa permite un primer contraste acerca de la relacion entre estructura de mercado y resultados obtenidos.
