Comparative analysis of energy consumption of various types electric motors in fixed speed centrifugal industrial pump applications is carried out. The purpose of the analysis is to choose the most efficient motor in the considered application. It is assumed that hydraulic flow of the pump is adjusted by throttling. The rated power of the pump unit is 2.2 kW. Direct on line motors of various energy efficiency classes from various manufacturers are considered: induction motors with permanent magnets on the rotor of IE4 class and squirrel cage induction motors of IE3 and IE4 classes. Methodology. Assessment of energy consumption of the motors is carried out based on the catalogue data from manufacturers of the pump and the motors. Pump hydraulic equations, interpolation of motor catalogue data and statistical data are also used. Results. The following values have been obtained: annual and daily energy consumption of the motors and electricity cost savings comparing with the least effective motor considered. Practical value. The following practical consideration are presented based on the theoretical results: choosing the motor based only on its IE efficiency class according to IEC 60034-30-1 is not enough to ensure the minimum energy consumption of pump units with variable flow during the load cycle. In addition, the energy consumption may be higher in the case of permanent magnet motors of IE4 class in comparison with induction motors of IE4 or even IE3 class. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account efficiency of the motors at underload and it is needed to calculate the energy consumption during the actual load cycle. It should be noted, that the existing approach based on the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) calculation does not provide information about absolute values of energy savings and cost savings, in contrast to the described approach. While choosing motors to run in the considered application it is also important to take into account that the motors with permanent magnets on the rotor have significantly higher price and very restricted starting capabilities comparing with induction motors. In addition, the production of rare earth magnets causes a significant environmental damage. Technical means of fire protection systems are capable of operating at data rates from tens to hundreds of Kbit/s with components of a digital signal in the frequency spectrum up to several tens of MHz. Appropriate cable infrastructure with a high level of noise immunity is required to transmit broadband digital signals. Purpose. Substantiation of ways to increase noise immunity of cables based on twisted pairs for modern fire protection systems with the ability to transmit digital signals in the frequency spectrum up to 100 MHz. Methodology. A comparison is made of the influence of the twisting step of pairs in unshielded 4-pair and multi-pair shielded balanced cables on the parameters of electromagnetic effects. It has been experimentally shown that twisting each pair with different steps provides a higher level of noise immunity of cables based on twisted pairs. Practical value. The frequency dependencies of the near end crosstalk in 10-, 30- and 4-pair balanced cables are shown. Methodology. Theoretical bases of the electrical engineering, electrophysics bases of technique of high voltage and high pulsed currents, applied thermal physics. Results. The engineering approach is developed for a calculation choice on the condition of thermal resistibility of aircraft cable-conductor products (CCP) of maximum permissible sections Sil of the uninsulated wires, insulated wires and cables with copper (aluminum) cores (shells), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), rubber (R) and polyethylene (PET) insulation, on which in malfunction of operation of on-board aircraft network with AC frequency of f>50 Hz flows of ik(t) current at single phase short circuit (SC) with given amplitude-temporal parameters. It is determined that in the onboard power circuits of electrical equipment of aircrafts (f=400 Hz; for permanent time of slump of Ta=3 ms of аperiodic constituent of current of SC) maximum permissible amplitudes of current density of δilm≈Imk/Sil of single phase SC at time of its disconnecting tkC=5 ms in the on-board network of aircraft without dependence on the numerical value of amplitude Imk of the given current of SC for the uninsulated wires with copper (aluminum) cores is accordingly about 2.48 (1.40) kA/mm, for wires (cables) with copper (aluminum) cores (shells) and PVC (R) with insulation – 1.85 (1.18) kA/mm, and for wires (cables) with copper (aluminum) cores (shells) and PET insulation – 1.53 (0.99) kA/mm. The influence on a choice in the on-board network of aircrafts of maximum permissible sections Sil of its CCP and accordingly maximum permissible amplitudes of current density δilm of current copper (aluminum) parts of its wires and cables of frequency f of AC in the on-board network of aircraft is determined, but duration of flow tkC (time of disconnecting) renders in the on-board network of aircrafts of emergency current of SC ik(t. For diminishing in the on-board power circuits of electrical equipment of aircrafts of maximum permissible sections Sil of the electric wires (cables) applied in them and accordingly providing of decline for different aircrafts of mass and overall indicators of their on-board CCP is needed in the on-boar networks of aircrafts along with the use of enhance frequency of f=400 Hz of AC to apply the fast-acting devices of their protecting from SC in course of time wearing-outs of ta<<100 ms. It isshown that application of enhance frequency of f=400 Hz of AC in the on-board networks of aircrafts as compared to its frequency of f=50 Hz results in the considerable increase (in four times) of fast-acting of devices of their protection from SC, operation of which is based on the air electric explosion of metallic wire. Based on a detailed analysis of the working temperature influence on the efficiency of photovoltaic processes that determine the solar cells work, it has been developed the optimal construction and technological solution of hybrid solar generated module, the main feature of which is the heat exchange block, designed to reduce the solar cells working temperature. The most common methods to design a multiclass classification consist to determine a set of binary classifiers and to combine them. In this paper support vector machine with Error-Correcting Output Codes (ECOC-SVM) classifier is proposed to classify and characterize the power quality disturbances such as harmonic distortion, voltage sag, and voltage swell include wind farms generator in power transmission systems. Firstly three phases unbalanced load flow analysis is executed to calculate difference electric network characteristics, levels of voltage, active and reactive power. After, discrete wavelet transform is combined with the probabilistic ECOC-SVM model to construct the classifier. Finally, the ECOC-SVM classifies and identifies the disturbance type according to the energy deviation of the discrete wavelet transform. This paper presents an advanced control scheme based on fuzzy logic and second order sliding mode of a unified power flow controller. This controller offers advantages in terms of static and dynamic operation of the power system such as the control law is synthesized using three types of controllers: proportional integral , and sliding mode controller and Fuzzy logic second order sliding mode controller. Their respective performances are compared in terms of reference tracking, sensitivity to perturbations and robustness. We have to study the problem of controlling power in electric system by UPFC. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method especially in chattering-free behavior, response to sudden load variations and robustness. All the simulations for the above work have been carried out using MATLAB / Simulink. Preparation of short scientifically-historical essay about the distinguished designer of domestic space-rocket technique and one of basic creators of missiles for a Soviet rocket-nuclear «shield» Mikhail Kuzmich Yangel. Methodology. Known scientific methods of collection, analysis and analytical treatment of scientific and technical information, regarding becoming and development in the USSR of space-rocket technique of the military and peaceful applications and resulted in scientific monographs, journals and internet-reports. Results. A short scientifically-historical essay is resulted about the distinguished Soviet designer of space-rocket technique of M.K. Yangel, becoming one of creators of domestic strategic rocket-nuclear «shield». Basic scientific and technical achievements of talented and purposeful scientist-mechanic M.K. Yangel are described, becoming in 1954 Head and Chief Designer of the Special Designer Bureau No. 586 (SDB-586, Dnepropetrovsk city), in area of development and creation of powerful battle ballistic rockets of the strategic applications and missiles for the peaceful mastering of space. It is shown that under scientific guidance of the Chief Designer of SDB-586 (in 1966 it began to be named DB «Southern») M.K. Yangel in the USSR were developed and accepted on the armament of rocket strategic armies the Soviet army: battle strategic rockets of the first generation (rockets with military indexes 8K63, 8K65 and 8K64); battle intercontinents ballistic rockets (ICBR) of the second (rockets with military indexes 8K67, 8K69 and 8К67П) and the third (rockets with military indexes 15A14 (on terminology of NATO SS-18 «Satan»), 15A15, 15A16 and 15A18) generations. At creation in the USSR of battle ICBR of the fourth generation (rockets with the military indexes of 15А18М, 15Ж60 and 15Ж61) the ideas of M.K. Yangel were applied. These battle ICBR provided in the period of the «Cold War» for the USSR a party in the world race of strategic rocketnuclear armaments. Powerful domestic missiles are «Space-1», «Space-2»,»Cyclone-2» and «Cyclone-3», created at SDB-586 (DB «Southern») under the guidance of M.K. Yangel on the base of the indicated battle ICBR, executed the tasks laid on them in area of the peaceful mastering of space. Originality. Certain systematization is executed known from mass of scientific and technical materials media, regarding becoming and development in the USSR of rocket industry, having an important militarystrategic and civil value. First for a wide reader the concrete contribution of SDB-586 (DB «Southern»), headed in the period of 1954-1971 by Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR and the Academy of Sciences of the USSR M.K. Yangel is exposed in the concentrated kind, in creation of powerful Soviet battle ICBR, making in the period of 1959-1991 basis of rocket-nuclear «shield» of the USSR. Practical value. A three-phase magnetic field inductor (MFI) similar to the asynchronous motor stator, which provides processing of various substances, is considered. This is done by means of oblong ferromagnetic elements moving with a rotating magnetic field and located in its cylindrical working chamber. Problem. The aim of the work is to develop the theory and conduct practical calculations of the parameters and characteristics of the MFI that connect the electromagnetic quantities and their phase relationships in the mode of its load. Methodology. The studies are carried out on the basis of numerical calculations of the magnetic field in the MFI taking into account the ferromagnetic elements in its working chamber. The calculation model of the chamber is represented by a homogeneous anisotropic magnetic medium for which the method of determining different magnetic permeabilities by its longitudinal and transverse axes is given. In order to obtain the characteristics of the presented MFI, the method of determining the electromagnetic parameters and phase relationships of the quantities accompanying its operation has been developed. Results. The theory and results of numerical-field analysis of electromagnetic quantities, their phase relationships and corresponding characteristics of three-phase MFI are presented. Calculations of characteristics are made for the inductor load mode depending on the phase shift of the magnetomotive force of the stator winding relative to the longitudinal axis of the chamber and while ensuring the constant value of the current of this winding. The characteristics include magnetic flux coupling, EMF and stator winding voltage, phase shifts between them and current, electromagnetic moment, input and output power, electrical and magnetic loss power, power factor and efficiency. Practical value. The technique of numerical-field calculations of electromagnetic quantities and their phase relationships is developed, and also the set of characteristics which should promote designing and perfection of inductors of the considered type is received. Methodology. Scientific and technical bases of power engineering, electrophysics bases of technique of high-voltage and large pulsed currents, theoretical bases of the electrical engineering. Results. The results of the developed electrical engineering approach are resulted in a calculation choice on the condition of electric explosion (EE) of current-carrying parts of cable and conductor products (CCP) of critical sections of S Ci for the copper (aluminum) cores of the uninsulated wires, and also for the insulated wires and cables with a polyvinilkhloride (PVC), rubber (R) and polyethylene (PET) insulation with copper (aluminum) cores (shells) on which in the power circuits of electrical equipment of the general industrial equipment in malfunction the current of SC i k (t) flows with set ATP. On the basis of determination of sizes of the real critical sections S Ci for the indicated wires and cables the calculation numeral estimation of critical amplitudes of density δ Ci of SC current i k (t) is executed with set ATP in current-carrying parts of investigated CCP of power circuits of the examined electrical equipment. It is determined that in the power circuits of electric equipment of the general industrial installations (for permanent time of slump of T a =50 ms of аperiodic to the constituent of current of SC) critical amplitudes of density δ Ci of SC current i k (t) at time of his disconnecting t k =100 ms in copper (aluminum) cores for the uninsulated wires and insulated wires (cables) with copper (aluminum) cores (shells), PVH, R and PET it is numeral made an insulation according to approximately 1,57 (1,18) kA/mm 2 . At time of disconnecting t k =160 ms of SC current i k (t) in the power circuits of the examined electrical equipment (T a =50 ms) critical amplitudes of density δ Ci of SC current i k (t) for the copper (aluminum) cores (shells) of indicated CCP become accordingly numeral equal approximately 1,33 (0,99) kA/mm 2 . Originality. First by a calculation  way taking into account information for ATP of SC current  i k (t) and quantitative values of time of his disconnecting t k in the power circuits of electrical equipment of the general industrial installations the numerical values of critical sections S Ci and critical amplitudes of density δ Ci of AC SC current i k (t) are certain for the uninsulated wires, and also insulated wires and cables with copper (aluminum) cores (shells), PVH, R and PET insulation.
