We perform extensive calculations of matrix elements and renormalization factors of composite operators in Perturbation Theory. In particular, we compute the renormalization factors of quark and squark bilinears, as well as their mixing at the quantum level with gluino and gluon bilinear operators. From these results we construct correctly renormalized composite operators, which are free of mixing effects and may be employed in non-perturbative studies of Supersymmetry. All our calculations have been performed with massive matter fields, in order to regulate the infrared singularities which are inherent in renormalizing squark bilinears. Furthermore, the quark and squark propagators are computed in momentum space with nonzero masses. \u0000This work is a feasibility study for lattice computations relevant to a number of observables, such as spectra and distribution functions of hadrons, but in the context of supersymmetric QCD, as a forerunner to lattice investigations of SUSY extensions of the Standard Model.","PeriodicalId":441384,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of XIII Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum — PoS(Confinement2018)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132779730","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This theory could be viewed as an effective theory describing the centre vortex picture of QCD colour confinement, but it is studied here with local interactions as theory in its own right. It is shown that the sign-problem can be solved by dualisation. The dual theory is derived: the pure gauge sector is a theory of closed membranes with Nambu-Goto action, and matter is described by open branes bounded by closed matter loops. The brane theory is simulated with Monte-Carlo techniques. Some evidence is found that the theory possesses a weakly-renormalisable phase with the scale set by a mass gap. Deconfinement at low temperatures and finite chemical potentials appears as a percolation transition for matter loops.","PeriodicalId":441384,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of XIII Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum — PoS(Confinement2018)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123351497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have analyzed the running of the coupling in SU(2) gauge theories with six and eight fermionic flavours using the gradient flow step scaling method. From the running of the coupling, we see a clear indication of an infrared stable fixed point in theories with six and eight flavours. These results are confirmed by our mass spectrum study, where we varied the number of flavours from two to six. We also compute the anomalous dimensions of mass and coupling.","PeriodicalId":441384,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of XIII Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum — PoS(Confinement2018)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117053824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We discuss this behavior by studying magnetic line defects in a Ginzburg-Landau approach, taking into account all possible values of the three winding numbers. After a brief discussion of the defects that include baryon circulation we focus on pure magnetic flux tubes. We show that at strong coupling, relevant for neutron stars, type-II behavior is conceivable and the most preferred configuration has minimal total winding. Only at weak coupling we find a regime where multi-winding flux tubes are preferred, although this regime most likely requires an unrealistically large superconducting gap.","PeriodicalId":441384,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of XIII Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum — PoS(Confinement2018)","volume":"115 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116592491","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have entered a new era of quarkonium production phenomenology, with the help of new measurements from the LHC giving access to more varieties of observables, and recent theoretical developments that provided us a better understanding of the short-distance process in which quarkonia are produced. With a more concrete understanding of perturbative corrections and a prolific collection of data, a satisfactory description of the quarkonium production mechanism might now be within reach. Unfortunately, the exact mechanism of quarkonium production still remains elusive. Even analyses based on the same formalism can lead to different descriptions of the production process and give contradicting predictions of processes involving heavy quarkonia. This implies that there are much more physics yet to be understood and much work yet to be done in quarkonium production phenomenology. In this paper, we review the current status of theoretical approaches and discuss possible strategies that may improve our understanding of heavy quarkonium production.","PeriodicalId":441384,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of XIII Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum — PoS(Confinement2018)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121740743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
