Orchestration refers to the sequencing of services, usually defined in a separate Web services definition language (WSDL) document, in order to provide additional logic to process data, which essentially creates the application logic. In certain situations, when business goals or policies change, these services (external to the orchestrated process) may change in a way that it affects the orchestrated process. For example, some services may be removed and new ones introduced. In situations like this, BPEL models need to be changed accordingly. In large and complex business processes, due to the verbose nature of BPEL, making alterations to BPEL descriptions is an arduous task, and can often lead to inconsistencies and errors. This paper demonstrates a way to map BPEL processes and related WSDL service descriptions into algebraic expressions, which encapsulate all process elements into a single phrase. The purpose of these algebraic expressions is to easily identify the effect of service changes in the orchestrated process, which in turn enables the required changes to be carried out efficiently in-situ within a given context, without disturbing the consistency of the overall BPEL document. The proposed algebraic methodology is based on Kleene algebra with tests (KAT), which is a new branch of algebra that lends itself for practical modeling purposes","PeriodicalId":439165,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on e-Business Engineering (ICEBE'06)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116892440","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main interest in CBR relies on its allowance of a system to avoid past failures and exploit past successes. The focus of our business process management depicted is on the transformation of a business goal's states, which are the most important scenarios of enterprises. A case is a template of common business processes, which combines a series of activities to meet some special goals, in another word, to complete goal's states transformation. Cases can be modified to meet the new business goals specification, and restored in repository, which contributes to knowledge base. The paper discusses cases retrieval, reusing, revising, and retaining based on a goal's states transformation and gives cases representation. It emphasizes the similarity measure of cases and gives match arithmetic","PeriodicalId":439165,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on e-Business Engineering (ICEBE'06)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129548198","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In today's global economy this task is getting, at the same time, more difficult and more important. In order to retain the potentially good customers and to improve their buying attitude this paper proposes a hierarchical fuzzy classification of online customers. A fuzzy classification, which is a combination of relational databases and fuzzy logic, allows customers to be classified in several classes at the same time and can therefore precisely determine the customers' value for an enterprise. This approach allows companies to improve the customer equity, to launch loyalty programs, to automate mass customization and to refine marketing campaigns in order to maximize the customers' value and, this way, the companies' profit","PeriodicalId":439165,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on e-Business Engineering (ICEBE'06)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122246614","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes a design approach addressing this problem of business-software alignment. The approach takes an initial business model as a basis in deriving refined models that target a service-oriented software implementation. The approach explicitly identifies a software modeling level at which software modules are represented as services in a technology-platform-independent way. This model-driven service-oriented approach has the following properties: (i) there is a forced alignment (consistency) between business processes and supporting applications; (ii) changes in the business environment can be traced to the application and vice versa, via model relationships; (iii) the software modules modeled as services have a high degree of autonomy; (iv) migration to new technology platforms can be supported through the platform independent software model","PeriodicalId":439165,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on e-Business Engineering (ICEBE'06)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121804249","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditionally the evaluation process is based on other peers' recommendations neglecting transaction amounts. This may lead to the bias to the transaction trust evaluation and risk the new transaction, which may occur between unknown peers. This paper presents a novel model for transaction trust evaluation, which distinguishes transaction amounts and thus computes different impact factors when analyzing old transactions and computing trust values. As a result, the trust evaluation becomes more accurate, which is dependant on transaction history, the amounts of old transactions, the amount of the new transaction, and the temporal dimension. Therefore the obtained trust value can be taken as the risk indication of the forthcoming transaction","PeriodicalId":439165,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on e-Business Engineering (ICEBE'06)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115174931","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Centralized data transmission adopted in most of classical workflow systems, i.e. the workflow engines delay all data transmitting across the services, would results in a bottleneck of communication in these grid workflows. This paper proposes a decentralized data communication model that enables peer-to-peer communication for large amount of data between grid services by means of notification mechanism of grid service and GridFTP. To enable inter-workflow data communication in the case of composite grid workflow that is composed of multiple grid workflows, data proxy services are constructed to take charge of data communication tasks of workflows. UMM models should be managed in a registry for two reasons: firstly, business partners supporting the process can find it and bind to it; and secondly, a model - or more important parts thereof - may be reused in another model of an inter-organizational process. Accordingly, registering one model as one object in a registry is not appropriate. Those parts of a model that may be reused must become registry objects themselves. Extracting parts of a model results in objects that are logically inter-related. Thus, a registry model taking care of these inter-relationships is needed. In this paper we present a so-called business collaboration registry model that sits on top of the ebRIM (ebXML registry information model) in order to manage UMM business collaboration models in an ebXML registry.
