This study aims to establish a wind speed model which reflects the wind speed fluctuation characteristics. The stochastic partial differential equation is applied to simulate wind speed and its variation. Using the static distribution of wind speed obtained from the sampled data, the probability density of increment of wind speed and its dynamic Fokker Planck Kolmogorov equation are obtained. The Crank-Nicholson difference scheme is employed to solve the dynamic Fokker Planck Kolmogorov equation, and the sequence of the wind speed, which fluctuates randomly, is built. The power spectral density (PSD) of the obtained wind speed sequence is analyzed. The results demonstrate that the PSD of the sequence of the wind speed built using the proposed method is very close to those measured. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated.","PeriodicalId":439089,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE PES Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference (APPEEC)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126281703","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An optimized current controller is designed for the DC/AC converter that improves the system operation in terms of reducing switching losses whereby increasing the efficiency of power-flow. It regulates the DC-link voltage based on the instantaneous electric vehicle (EV) battery voltage while provides the unity power factor during the operation of the system. A phase shift controller is also designed for the DC/DC converter that provides the bidirectional operation and control charging and discharging modes of the EVs battery in soft-switching mode. The proposed system is implemented and simulated using PSCAD software. From the simulation results, it is found that this optimized V2G system provides excellent performance in terms of operation in unity power factor, reducing switching stresses, losses and increasing overall efficiency.","PeriodicalId":439089,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE PES Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference (APPEEC)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126465740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The substation is formed by AC/DC rectifier, six-pulse DC/AC inverter, high-frequency transformer, DC/AC six-diode rectifier and DC/AC inverter. Both AC/DC rectifier at high AC grid-1 side and DC/AC inverter at lower grid-2 side are controlled by proportional resonant controller and are interfaced with the grids through LCL filters. LCL filters interfaced with both grids are optimized and the controller parameters are also optimized using differential evolution algorithm. It is found by adding passive filter between six-pulse inverter and medium-frequency transformer, it is possible to remove most harmonic voltage components and ensure that the voltage applied across medium- frequency transformer can be quite close to sinusoidal waveform. By doing so, the core losses could be effectively contained, thereby leading to higher frequency and efficiency operation.","PeriodicalId":439089,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE PES Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference (APPEEC)","volume":"58 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121014354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cable insulation is mainly affected by high temperature and water tree. Therefore, in this paper, we use PDC method to evaluate cable insulation, which is non-destructive due to its low voltage. In order to find out the relationship between PDC curve and aging status, we put 5 single-core cable samples in oven and set aging temperature as 14°C. Then, we divide these samples into different aging time (new, 10 days, 20 days, 30 days, 40 days) and measure the PDC curve. The result shows that with the increase of aging time, the PDC curve decreases quicker and the absolute value of steady current becomes higher. PDC will be a very practical way to judge cable insulation in the future.","PeriodicalId":439089,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE PES Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference (APPEEC)","volume":"244 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121151102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the availability of such data is currently very limited. The APVI Live PV Map (Live Map) provides near real-time distributed PV generation estimates in 57 different regions across Australia based on some 6000 PV systems reporting their generation online. This data has a wide range of potential applications including, for example, network planning or PV performance assessment. In this paper we investigate the characteristics of the PV systems contributing to the Live Map database, in order to assess its accuracy and suitability for providing total distributed PV generation estimates for power system planning and operational purposes. The study compares the sample of PV systems contributing data to the Live Map database with the total set of PV systems in Australia, according to the Clean Energy Regulator's (CER's) database. Representativeness is assessed in terms of PV system location, size, age, and inverter manufacturer. The accuracy of the APVI Live Map PV generation estimates for individual regions is assessed by comparison with a separate database of historical interval metered household PV generation from the Ausgrid network. Finally, an example of the application of distributed PV data to electricity network planning is provided to highlight the potential value of these PV generation estimates.","PeriodicalId":439089,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE PES Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference (APPEEC)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127603507","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In practical situations, a variety of equity principles have been applied in different allocation problems, however, conflicts always exist among these principles. It is necessary to coordinate different allocation schemes. Meanwhile, voting is an effective mechanism to solve the conflicts. In this paper, the voting allocation model is presented, and the voting mechanism is introduced to solve the uniformity and effectiveness problem of the allocation method. Since strategic behaviors exist in the iterated voting allocation, it may not be the optimal strategy to only consider the current allocation scheme. To overcome this problem, game strategy is studied in this paper, and the bounded rationality of participants in complicated situations is described by \"Local optimization\" and \"Greedy algorithm\". Based on this, the games equilibrium is investigated for the problem with less than four strategies, by introducing the strict preference ordering list, and a series of theorems are obtained. Finally, the actual case studies are carried out to shown that the algorithms in this paper satisfy the main principles of equity, and can be accepted by all the participants.","PeriodicalId":439089,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE PES Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference (APPEEC)","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127388713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to calculate the harmonic voltage instantaneous value at the point of common coupling (PCC) produced by harmonic source's harmonic current, a time domain equivalent model of distribution network is established. What's more, a computational method about total harmonic contributions determination is deduced in this paper. Based on the covariance characteristic of random variables, equivalent parameters of utility-side can be obtained. On this basis, the total harmonic contributions of harmonic source at the PCC can be calculated. This is called an output curtailment of distributed generation. Although the purpose of the output curtailment is to stably operate the distribution network, it inevitably limits the revenue of distributed generations. Therefore, the need for suitable compensation to the output curtailment is often discussed. As an extension to the discussion, this study proposes the method to determine the suitable bounds of the compensation price for output curtailment. In the proposed method, the suitable bounds of compensation price are obtained from the profit analysis of stakeholders in accordance with the level of the compensation price through optimal power flow technique.","PeriodicalId":439089,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE PES Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference (APPEEC)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116563081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the different characteristics of household microgrid load, models are established for fixed load, shiftable load and adjustable load in this paper. Considering the comfort and economy of users' electricity utilization (EU), a day-ahead energy optimal scheduling model of household microgrid is proposed, which takes the maximum of user satisfaction as the objective function under the time of use price (TOU) condition. Resources that can be scheduled of the household microgrid include photovoltaic generation unit, energy storage unit and load unit. Genetic algorithm is adopted to solve the proposed model. Example analysis shows that different optimal scheduling schemes can be provided according to users' EU needs by the proposed model. And it can effectively reduce the users electricity cost if the household microgrid could be scheduled reasonably.","PeriodicalId":439089,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE PES Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference (APPEEC)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116999991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
