The fact that anyone can publish anything has ultimately led to pages with varying degrees of quality. This paper aims at investigating means for assessing the quality of a random web page and provides a quantitative approach for selecting high quality-content pages. The work was motivated by the need to locate pages that may be considered as candidates for translation.","PeriodicalId":438270,"journal":{"name":"2013 9th International Conference on Innovations in Information Technology (IIT)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130870813","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, accurate and reliable prediction of protein domain boundaries is often the primary step in both experimental and computational protein research. This paper surveys several prediction techniques of inter-domain linker segments within protein sequences and summarizes the key technical challenges and unresolved issues. The paper investigates most of the relevant existing approaches carried out towards this perspective and provides a comparison of these approaches. Future research directions in this area are also discussed.","PeriodicalId":438270,"journal":{"name":"2013 9th International Conference on Innovations in Information Technology (IIT)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115294877","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accordingly, many methods aiming at detecting protein complexes were developed. Recently, a novel method called ProRank was introduced. This method uses a ranking algorithm to detect protein complexes by ordering proteins based on their importance in the interaction network and by accounting for the evolutionary relationships among them. The experimental results showed that ProRank outperformed several well-known methods in terms of the number of detected complexes with high accuracy, precision and recall levels. In this paper, we overcome a drawback of the ProRank algorithm and further improve its performance by allowing detected protein complexes to overlap; a supposition that was not considered in the original version of the method.","PeriodicalId":438270,"journal":{"name":"2013 9th International Conference on Innovations in Information Technology (IIT)","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126014995","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper describes a NoC implementation that is specifically targeted towards FPGA based designs. Our implementation is based on a lightweight circuit-switched architecture called programmable NoC (PNoC). It is captured in the Verilog hardware description language and is implemented using the Xilinx Virtex-II pro FPGA (XC2Vp30-7) device at 126 MHz. The proposed architecture allows parametrization at the compile time for the number of nodes and amount of data. Moreover, experimental results have confirmed that the proposed implementation is the most efficient one in terms of performance.","PeriodicalId":438270,"journal":{"name":"2013 9th International Conference on Innovations in Information Technology (IIT)","volume":"469 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132562851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been attracting considerable attention from academia and industry for several decades. Recently, a number of new and promising meta-heuristic approaches for solving the RCPSP problem have emerged. In this paper, we provide a detailed review of the most recent approaches for solving the RCPSP that have been proposed in literature. In particular, we present a comparison, classification and analysis, based on a number of relevant metrics. Extensive numerical results based on well-known benchmark problem instance sets of size J30, J60 and J120 from Project Scheduling Problem Library (PSPLIB), as well as comparisons among state-of-the-art hybrid meta-heuristic algorithms demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches for solving the RCPSP of various scales.","PeriodicalId":438270,"journal":{"name":"2013 9th International Conference on Innovations in Information Technology (IIT)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115524552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the number of urbanized and mobile population has increased, the possibility of a worldwide pandemic has grown too. The latest advances in high-performance computing and computational network science can help computational epidemiologists to develop large-scale high-fidelity models of epidemic spread. These models can help to characterize the large-scale patterns of epidemics and guide public health officials and policy makers in taking appropriate decisions to prevent and control such epidemics. This paper presents an overview of the epidemic spread modeling and simulation, and summarizes the main technical challenges in this field. It further investigates the most relevant recent approaches carried out towards this perspective and provides a comparison and classification of these approaches.","PeriodicalId":438270,"journal":{"name":"2013 9th International Conference on Innovations in Information Technology (IIT)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122071699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mobile WiMAX is considered a candidate for such deployment. The Federal Communication Commission issues licenses for Mobile WiMAX in several bands, among which 2.5 GHz and 3.65 GHz are the most popular. 2.5 GHz provides less operating restrictions while 3.65 GHz has more attractive licensing requirements. Therefore, it is imperative to compare the performances for both spectrums to ascertain the best fit with regards to performance and cost. In this paper, we provide a thorough quantitative comparison between the two spectrums and an in-depth analysis of the results.","PeriodicalId":438270,"journal":{"name":"2013 9th International Conference on Innovations in Information Technology (IIT)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126168892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently, we are able to build smart systems that improve quality of life and enhance environment management. However, most available smart systems are implemented based on proprietary hardware/software solutions, restricting interoperation, which is required for large-scale Smart City solutions. To enable the implementation of a general Smart City solution, a platform is needed to fulfill the communication requirements between heterogeneous access technologies.
