In CMT1A patients, anticipation showing increased severity by generations has been reported in the CMT1A patients. It has also been reported that severity increases in the non-de novo cases than in the de novo cases. This study was performed to examine epigenetic differences between CMT1A cases and controls as well as between de novo cases and non-de novo cases.Methods: This study examined 40 Korean CMT1A patients and 11 controls. Methylation level was determined using the SureSelect XT Methyl-Seq reagent kit and bisulfite sequence mapping program.Results: Many differentially methylated CpG sites (DMCs) were identified in the comparisonbetween cases and controls and between de novo cases and non-de novo cases. Most DMCs were located within or nearby genes related to the nervous system, mental stress, and motor ability.Conclusions: This study is the first epigenetic study to uncover the mechanism of clinical heterogeneity among CMT1A patients. A 32-year-old man was admitted due to sudden memory impairment and had a history of recurrent oral/genital ulcers. Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed ischemic lesions in the bilateral fornix and left thalamus, and high-resolution vessel wall MRI demonstrated vasculitis in the anterior communicating artery. This study aimed to review the current system and efficiently develop long-term care insurance services according to changes in socioeconomic situations. First, a 21 items questionnaire survey was conducted from August 16 to August 31, 2022, for all members of the Korean Neurological Association. The survey was divided into seven areas, and individualized results were analyzed. Second, cumulative data on long-term care insurance services were collected and analyzed from July 1, 2008 to December 31, 2021, for the National Health Insurance system, and the results were summarized. In the survey, approximately 21% of the neurologists answered a web-based questionnaire survey on current doctors’ referral slips for long-term insurance services. Most (94%) had doctor referral slips for long-term insurance services. However, the authors estimated that doctors’ referral slips did not sufficiently affect the grading of longterm insurance services. The long-term care insurance services data according to several categories were classified and then, we statistically analyzed the socioeconomic burden of long-term insurance. Those cumulative data showed a gradual increase in the recipient number, diversity of geriatric diseases, and socioeconomic burden. MIDD can be accompanied by various neurological symptoms. In this patient, memory impairment and ataxia were the predominant neurological symptoms. Here, we present the case of a 60-yearold male patient with small cell lung cancer who developed autoimmune encephalitis during treatment with atezolizumab. Notably, this case involved the concurrent detection of two paraneoplastic autoantibodies (anti-Hu and anti-SOX1). Encephalitis was treated by discontinuing atezolizumab and administering steroids, despite the persistence of the antibodies. The treatment for PKD differs from other paroxysmal dyskinesias, as it notably responds well to sodium channel blockers. We report a case of atypical PKD, coupled with paroxysmal exercise-induced dyskinesia (PED). Both PKD and PED in this patient showed a good response to oxcarbazepine.
