The futuristic tour of the nation-state’s future leaves a wide field for reflection and research. It is time to create a qualitatively new postmodern concept of the nation as opposed to the traditional industrial-modern one, which will help the modern man not only to moderately distance himself from the globalization foundations of world life but also to create a kind of axio-resistant for the nation-state. The object of research is the entire sphere of national consciousness through the prism of the research of modern Western theoreticians of the nation in spectral analysis. The research subject is the sociological concept of the nation (D. Schnapper) and the political and legal concept of triad nationalism (R. Brubaker). The main idea is to find out the specifics of the theoretical load of the supramodern Western concepts of nation and nationalism, to analyze and compare the concepts of modern theorists of the nation with modern ones, to create a new strategic theory of the development of the nation-state in the information age, to prove the impossibility of the nation-state in changing conditions of the globalized 21st century. The author determines the cognitive value and intellectual load of the theoretical decline and praxeological aspects of modern scientific versions of the nation and nationalism and the heuristic potential that can give impetus to constructing a new theory of strategic development of the nation-state in the 21st century. The methodological orientations of the problem of the position of the national state in the era of global society are clarified in comparison with theoreticians of the concepts of global world life – M. McLuhan, N. Postman, M. Castells, and, based on this, the aspects of changing the functional load of the concept of the national state at the current stage are determined. Expressed mobility of nationology is determined.","PeriodicalId":436487,"journal":{"name":"Ukrainian Society","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128953715","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The author considers the role of advertising as a factor in social transformations, and negative social deviations, particularly manifestations of deviant behaviour such as smoking and gaming addiction. In the example of social groups most vulnerable to the influence of advertising, which are children and teenagers, special attention is paid to analysing the use of archetypes in advertising. It has been proven that thanks to technologies of influence on mass consciousness, including archetypes, advertising acquires the function of a manipulator of mass consciousness and, to a certain extent, exerts a destructive influence on society as a whole and youth in particular. It is shown that advertising as a socio-cultural phenomenon requires a complex approach to the problem of regulating this sphere to ensure the interests of society and protect consumers from the negative impact of advertising propaganda. The problem of using archetypal principles in regulating advertising activity to counteract its negative impact on social transformation processes is clarified. Attention is paid to areas of regulation improvement in advertising to counteract its negative impact on social transformations. The need to strengthen the role in the processes of regulation of public institutions, to involve the public in solving current problems of society and to protect its moral and ethical values is proved. According to the study results, it was concluded that advertising acts as a determinant of societal transformational processes and causes changes in mass behaviour, including negative ones, particularly delinquency. Emphasis is placed on the role played by government institutions and state regulation and the public, social organisations, and institutions in solving the problem. Consideration of the state of regulation of advertising activity through the prism of archetypes gives grounds for the conclusion that the use of archetypes as the basis of managerial influence and their use in the regulation of the advertising sphere will contribute to balancing the interests of society and the advertising industry, protecting the rights of consumers, and increasing the social responsibility of advertising distributors.","PeriodicalId":436487,"journal":{"name":"Ukrainian Society","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121151635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ukrainian society is going through a critically difficult period associated with the full-scale aggression of Russia and the tasks of developing internal rules of life in the country (in the direction of European values and the revival of Ukrainian ones, in contrast to the remnants of Soviet stereotypes and rules imposed by oligarchic clans in recent years). An environment that can be compared to chaos is a potential prerequisite for the emergence of “order out of chaos”, including in the formation of views and the development of rules regarding the norm of behaviour and the formation of Ukrainian archetypes of the hero and the villain. The behaviour of the hero and the villain go beyond the norm, “background behaviour”. Therefore, considering the archetype of the hero and the villain in the context of delinquency is interesting. The author considers delinquent behaviour as a catalyst for social changes, social norms that are directed against existing moral, ethical, and legal norms, and rules. In the author’s opinion, deviations that bear the signs of the new (conscious or not) are new formations (recognised or unrecognised). In the context of the identified problem, behaviour that increasingly deviates from the remnants of Soviet stereotypes and the norms and rules imposed on Ukrainian society by oligarchic clans can be considered delinquent. At the same time, new formations are actions that correspond to the chosen general European guidelines and the revival of Ukrainian values and beliefs. The author assumes the following boundaries of delinquency: on the one hand – heroism. On the other – villainism. There are transitional forms between them. The author emphasises that a villain can be understood as a clear enemy, the struggle of intrapersonal multidirectional interests and motives (one’s enemy), and a reincarnated hero (antihero, villain). The author tries to summarise the characteristics of the hero accordingly. Heroes and villains are distinguished by their values in their activities, which they are carriers of. The author characterises the modern Ukrainian hero’s values (universal human values, European values, and values of a just, fair war). This work contributes to the consolidation of society around selected values. The author sees further work in the study of the characteristics of the archetypes of the hero and the villain in the post-war period.","PeriodicalId":436487,"journal":{"name":"Ukrainian Society","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115063494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Corruption as a social phenomenon manifests itself to one degree or another in any country, exacerbating all growing contradictions in relations between society and the state, especially in crisis and transformational conditions. When developing an anti-corruption policy, it is less visible, but perhaps the most essential factors of its emergence and overcoming are often overlooked: institutional, cultural, and “cognitive”. The degree of their development is affected by the development of the shadow economy: on the one hand, they contribute to counteracting informal activity and preventing the strengthening of criminalization of society; on the other hand, they contribute to forming a “shadow” culture and institutionalising the shadow economy. The study aims to determine the influence of socio-cultural factors on the development of the shadow economy and corruption and to determine the conceptual foundations of innovative anti-corruption measures. The study examines the shadow economy and corruption as a mechanism of insufficient functionality of state institutions. It is proposed to consider the shadow economy and corruption within the model of the interaction of archetypes as institutions that generate values and the state as a system of institutions that uses these values. Several empirical studies were analyzed, the purpose of which was to determine the influence of culture on the shadow economy and corruption. The experience of Finland, which occupies the leading position in the rating of the corruption perception index as a country with the lowest level of corruption, is published. It was determined that the principles of good governance, ethical norms and recommendations are prescribed in many regulatory acts of Finland and are an essential, integral part of state management. Within the framework of the study, it is proposed to combine Weber’s research approach with the theory of institutional transformations. Institutional and innovative (technological) development includes two components – innovative, which are formed due to natural selection or design, and imitative, which arise from borrowing (transplantation) of institutions from other institutional systems. This approach is appropriate for the institutional-evolutionary strategy of forming an anti-corruption strategy of the national system “sustainable development – security”, the purpose of which can be defined as the support of the natural evolution of the existing institution (complex of institutions) within the limits of a particular strategy, including institutional innovations and borrowing. The initial (existing) institution can be “transplanted” or “developed”, or it can arise in the process of developing the internal institutional environment. According to the author, the advantage of the institutional strategy is the vast possibil","PeriodicalId":436487,"journal":{"name":"Ukrainian Society","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126476295","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authors present an overview of scientific approaches to the study of sexual life, in particular, sociological studies of the sexual behaviour of young people in the West and modern Ukraine. The paper draws attention to some of the consequences of the “sexual revolution” regarding the impact on sexual health (HIV/AIDS; sexually transmitted diseases; teenage abortions, sexual violence, etc.). The analysis of features inherent in the modern sexual behaviour of adolescents (frequency of sexual contacts; the number of sexual partners; age and gender characteristics of sexual behaviour of respondents) is based on the results of three representative sociological studies among schoolchildren in Kharkiv and Kharkiv region (1999 and 2013) and four regions of Ukraine (2021). Sociologists of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and the Sociological Association of Ukraine carried out these studies. Such characteristics of social behaviour as “age of sexual debut” and the dynamics of changes of this indicator were analyzed based on the data of Ukrainian and Western sociologists. Some negative consequences of early sexual life are described (sexual development disorders, mental disorders, sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted teenage pregnancies, teenage prostitution, etc.). Attention is paid to issues of systematic sexual education and sexual enlightenment of adolescents to preserve reproductive and sexual health. The authors analyze the role of parents, the educational process in school, and sexual education programs in the formation of safe sexual behaviour skills and a responsible attitude of adolescents to their health and the health of loved ones.","PeriodicalId":436487,"journal":{"name":"Ukrainian Society","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122824935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The general background of this relationship is the visible weakening of social norms and institutions regulating and disciplining people’s behaviour through transformational processes, which leads to the denial of the authority of existing social norms and provokes various forms of deviant behaviour. Therefore, the psychological (psychosocial) aspect, which covers the individual and the collective conscious and unconscious nature of social behaviour, comes to the forefront of the knowledge of the new – Postmodern social situation. For the analysis of transitional processes and the social situation as a whole, the authors use both the established concept of the Modern era – “social identity” and introduce a new one, corresponding to the realities of the postmodern era, the concept of “societal identity” as a multidimensional psychosocial reality, which is measured by the author’s BAD methodology. It is about its six binary scales-oppositions, which measure such qualitative features of the social system as: “extroversion – introversion”, “emotionality – pragmatism”, “irrationality – rationality”, “intuitiveness – sensory”, “externality – internality”, “executiveness – intentionality”. Monitoring the trends of changes in these qualitative characteristics during the years 2002–2023 provided an opportunity not only to establish the fact of the birth and subsequent dominance of a new type of “social identity” in Ukraine but also to determine the “landmarks” of the irreversibility of the process of social transformation, which became: the “Orange Revolution” (2004), the “Revolution of Dignity” (2013–2014), the Russian-Ukrainian war (2014–2023), especially its final phase – Russia’s large-scale aggression against Ukraine (2022–2023). The latter seems to be the equifinal moment of social transformation, which brings victory for Ukraine while turning into a strategic defeat for Russia. This defeat is accompanied by the criminal nature of the delinquent behaviour of the military and politicians, which is caused by the pathopsychological state of Russian society with its conformist behavioural colouring, which is based on the archetypal tradition of the “oprichnina” of the Muscovite state of the 16th century, during the reign of Ivan 4th the Terrible.","PeriodicalId":436487,"journal":{"name":"Ukrainian Society","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129281398","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This model serves as a framework for analyzing the mechanisms of behavioural choice, based on which the author concludes that the archetypal approach makes it possible to use and bring together socio-psychological and biological approaches when examining the influence of various external environment factors on an individual’s behavioural choice. In particular, the mechanisms of the emergence and spread of individuals’ delinquent behaviour in a crisis are discussed. It is assumed that the social psyche, which is inert in normal conditions and resistant to changes, becomes more plastic in critical conditions with high uncertainty. This facilitates adaptating the social system to new conditions due to normalising individuals’ new – successful behaviour, which is formed based on new – operatively changed social attitudes, values, beliefs, and norms. Thus, manifestations of delinquency in wartime and after wars might be seen as a by-product of the social system’s natural desire for stability in the new external conditions. Hence, the prevention of delinquency serves to normalize the behaviour of individuals to return to pre-crisis conditions, and at the same time as contributes to promoting adaptation to new conditions of life. The conclusion is that to overcome the destructive consequences of war, the social structure should be improved and renewed to produce a new social environment that could harmoniously change the behaviour of individuals per the acquired social attitudes, values, beliefs, and norms that determine it. Based on the results of the analysis of the developed model and the identified mechanisms of influencing behavioural choices, approaches to the selection of practical tools for the prevention of delinquency in post-war times are suggested (i.e., collective events involving representatives of the target audience) and methods of organizing their collective activities is proposed. It is assumed that further research can be aimed at verifying the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed measures in real-life conditions to improve the methodology of their use and develop criteria and methods for evaluating the obtained results.","PeriodicalId":436487,"journal":{"name":"Ukrainian Society","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126742072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During the research, it was established that the manifestations of delinquency in the Russian military are criminal in nature, they are an integral part of the Russian-Ukrainian war, and are directed mainly against the civilian population. The origin of modern Russian ideology and its dangers for modernity are determined. Based on historical examples, a comparison of the consequences of the delinquency of fascist and racist ideologies and the manifestation of the latter during hostilities was made. The psychological portrait of the Russian army is considered in the context of a representative sample of Russian society. An archetypal analysis of the latter’s genesis is carried out, and the archetype of the Horde is identified, which has had a decisive influence on the development of modern Russian society. The author traced the impact of the Horde archetype on the modern Russian state system, state-building processes and society in general. The channels of influence of the Horde archetype on the formation of the Russian army and its relations with the crimes committed by the Russian military on the territory of Ukraine were studied. The phenomenon of the influential leader and its correspondence to the archetype of the Horde are analysed. The paper determined how the Horde archetype affects the perception of other nations and nationalities by Russians, how “Russian collectivism” relates to responsibility, and what is the basis for the Russians’ justification of Russian war crimes in Ukraine. In conclusion, the cardinal changes that have taken place in the perception of the war and the enemy in Ukrainian society are noted, and the leading role of the analysis of basic Russian archetypes for effective resistance to Russian military and semantic aggression is determined. Further directions of archetypal research in the context of the “Russian issue” are outlined.","PeriodicalId":436487,"journal":{"name":"Ukrainian Society","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133676223","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main goal is to analyse the peculiarities of delinquent behaviour at the national economic level within the archetypal approach. Factors influencing the formation of illegal behaviour in the social environment of the national economy are defined and characterized. The behaviour of a delinquent is defined as the antisocial and illegal behaviour of a person whose misdeeds are harmful to individual citizens and society as a whole, as well as the indicated signs of its separation from deviant behaviour. The main criteria and differences distinguishing delinquent behaviour from deviant and key signs of delinquent behaviour are characterized. The reasons that are prerequisites for delinquent behaviour are systematized, and classified into internal and external, as well as three groups of factors of the causes of delinquent behaviour. The archetypes present in every person’s consciousness are considered, and their influence on the formation of an individual’s behaviour in society is determined. Factors contributing to the formation of delinquency in the national economy at the macro and micro levels are identified. The typification of delinquent behaviour was carried out, indicating its types by type and their characteristics. Prevention of delinquent behaviour is the most effective means because preventing such behaviour, especially among children and adolescents, is more reasonable than punishing people who have already committed crimes. Basic measures to prevent delinquent behaviour are proposed. Based on the results of the analysis, it was determined that there are several objective and subjective factors, the interdependence and interaction of which affect human behaviour and generates conditions for delinquent actions; their quantitative and qualitative characteristics increase with the increase of social contradictions in the national economy, since any process in one way or another affects a certain aspect of society’s life, influencing a change in antisocial behaviour to one degree or another.","PeriodicalId":436487,"journal":{"name":"Ukrainian Society","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134002880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
