The pastures were subdivided into two periods of evaluation. The treatments consisted of pearl millet (Pennisetum americanum (L.) Leeke) and sudangrass (Sorghum bicolor cv. Sudanense), both submitted to continuous grazing by culling cows. The experimental design was completely randomized with two treatments and two periods. The canopy height (32.69 vs 20.29 cm), leaf appearance rate (0.147 vs 0.080) , total number of leaves per tiller (4.74 vs 3,06), number of green leaves (4.26 vs 2.55), number of young leaves (1.92 vs 1.47) and number of mature leaves (2.34 vs 1.08) were higher in millet tillers, while the rate of senescence was higher in sudangrass tillers (0.511 cm) compared to millet tillers (0.495 cm). The total number of leaves (4.28 vs 3.53) and the number of dead leaves (0.58 vs 0.38) were higher during the initial grazing cycle. Costa","doi":"10.17523/BIA.2019.V76.E1437","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17523/BIA.2019.V76.E1437","url":null,"abstract":"The objective of this work was to evaluate qualitative semen parameters and to compare the morphology of the sperm head among three fish species, Piaractus mesopotamicus, Piaractus brachypomus and Colossoma macropomum. The semen samples were collected from nine animals, three males per species, by the induced reproduction method in November 2011. Sperm motility was evaluated and morphology was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. The motility rates of the three species evaluated were higher than 90%, with no difference between species. However, the duration of sperm motility was longer for pacu semen compared to the other species. The head length was 2.43 ± 0.19, 1.94 ± 0.07 and 2.44 ± 0.12 μm for pacu, pirapitinga and tambaqui sperm, respectively. The head width was 1.45 ± 0.07, 1.76 ± 0.07 and 1.56 ± 0.06 μm, and the length of the intermediate piece was 1.0 ± 0.10, 1.54 ± 0.08 and 2.07 ± 0.33 μm, respectively. We used 120 layers Avifran distributed in Black 4 treatments, 6 reps with 5 birds each, totaling 24 experimental plots. Zootechnical performance analyses were undertaken, quality of the eggs and egg yolk color via color range and color matching methods using digital calorimeter. Pubertal Bos indicus Nellore heifers were injected at day 0 with 2 mg estradiol benzoate (EB) and assigned randomly to three groups. Anintravaginal device containing 1.9 or 0.75 g P4 was inserted in animals of groups 1 (n=80) and 2 (n=79), while group 3 (n=76) received no device. The intravaginal devices were removed on day 8 and one luteolytic dose (125 μg) of d-cloprostenol was administered. Half of the animals in each group additionally received 300 IU of eCG. Twenty-fourhours later, the heifers received a second injection of 1 mg EB and TAI was performed 54 hours after the injection of cloprostenol. Pregnancy was diagnosed 40 days after TAI by transrectal ultrasonography. Data were analyzed by logistic regression. Pregnancy rates were 27.5%, 30.4% and 28.9% in groups 1, 2 and 3, respectively (P>0.05). This resultwas not influenced by body score, farm, eCG, or presence of CL at the beginning of the treatments. A completely randomized experimental design with five treatments and six replicates was used. The treatments were the different opening periods of the silos (7, 14, 30, 42 and 60 days after the closing date). PVC minisilars with 10 cm diameter and 30 cm length were used. The production of lactic acid was influenced (P = 0.01) of the fermentation time, presenting a quadratic positive behavior. The buffer capacity showed a linear behavior (P = 0.02) along the fermentation time. Negative quadratic behavior (P = 0.01) was observed for pH values, as a function of fermentation time. Positive quadratic behavior (P 0.05) of the fermentation time for the other chemical variables with mean values ​​of 230.2 g / kg, 66.4; 514.8; 407.6; 66.7; 107.2; 447.4 and 213.4 (g / kg DM) for MS, MM, NDF, ADF, Lig, Hem, Cel and NFC respectively. No effect (P> 0.05) of the fermentation time was observed for the crude protein (CP) content and the fractionation protein values ​​with mean values ​​of 204.2 g / kg, 356.2, 128.8, 353, 162.6, for PB, fraction A, fraction B1 + B2, fraction B3 and fraction C, respectively. This study evaluated the replacement of meat and bone meal by soybean meal with and without the use of synthetic lysine in the diet of common carp juveniles. An experiment was conducted with 35 days. Thirty-five fish were used in a water recirculation system. Three diets were tested: DA (diet with animal protein), DV (100% vegetable diet) and DV1 (DV diet supplemented with 1% synthetic lysine). After the experimental period, the following zootechnical parameters were estimated: mean weight, total and standard length, condition factor, specific growth rate, relative weight gain, survival and biomass. In addition, the centesimal composition of the fish was analyzed, where the fat, dry matter and mineral matter content of the carcass were determined. The amount of plasma glucose in carp was also measured. The results of weight, length and relative weight gain were higher in fish fed the DA diet. Fish fed with plant diets had higher glucose values. The material was ensiled for 60 days in polyvinyl chloride \"PVC\" experimental bags. There was a maximum loss (P<0.05) of the effluent of 48.5 kg/ton of natural matter with the inclusion of 24.3% of mango residue in the elephant grass silage and cassava peel. Maximum dry matter (DM) loss (P<0.05) of 22.1% and minimum DM recovery (P<0.05) of 78.9% were found with the inclusion of 21.1% and 21.4% of mango residue. Quadratic behavior (P<0.05) was observed for the chemical composition of the silages, with minimum DM content (29.2%) and non-fibrous carbohydrates (37.6% NFC), and maximum crude protein (9.64% CP) and neutral detergent fiber (41.6% NDF) contents, with the inclusion of 23.5%, 8.90%, 10.7%, and 9.11% of mango residue, respectively. In the sensory evaluation regarding the characteristics associated with the nutritional value, the classification \"good to very good\" was recorded for the silages where the elephant grass and the cassava peels were added with 10% and 20% of mango residue.
