Digital content alone is not enough in this context and 3D content is increasingly gaining importance. One of the most accessible and at the same time most effective 3D digitisation methods is photogrammetry. The result, if procedures are followed correctly, is not only high-quality content with a wide range of uses, but also potential stepping stones for effective business models. This can reduce acquisition costs quite significantly and make 3D digitisation accessible to a wider range of institutions.","PeriodicalId":435640,"journal":{"name":"Muzeum Muzejní a vlastivedná práce","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130957637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conclusions show the lack of advanced discussion about the museum’s role during this period. Most museum workers are only concerned with practical problems; they are unwilling to reflect on their work critically, and their idea of the museum is based primarily on physical collections. There is an evident distance between the narrow circle of active theorists in the academic environment and the reserved majority of curators and conservators in the regional museums. This majority does not participate in public discussions, and because of that, its opinions and arguments are more implicit in the analyzed texts. Many published articles are concerned with the history of concrete museum collections, buildings, and significant personalities. The authors frequently underlined the long and rich tradition of Czech museums. However, their perspective lacks a necessary reflective examination (i. e. the museum as an institution and a building with a long history but without a precisely defined position in contemporary society). Review of new exhibitions is a long-neglected genre, often replaced with abstracts or notices. During the last few years, the situation has been improving due to some impulses of new museology and educational turn (i. e. the museum as a responsive and accessible institution to the local community).","PeriodicalId":435640,"journal":{"name":"Muzeum Muzejní a vlastivedná práce","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115609607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Historical images created by studios after 1859 give only limited evidence of the appearance of characters in theater plays. The article describes the specifics of recording and technical limitations in studios until the end of the long 19th century. The first professional photographer working for one theater – Josef Heinrich. Between 1936 and 1950, he filmed 405 productions of all National Theater ensembles. Originally a reportage photographer of the Czechoslovak press office, Čestmír Jírů stood on the sidelines of the researchers’ interest. After documenting political events and working for a postcard manufacturer, he took a unique set of lifestyle photos of actors of all generations – at home, at hobby work, with family members.","PeriodicalId":435640,"journal":{"name":"Muzeum Muzejní a vlastivedná práce","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123343476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A brief summary of the historical development of the Náprstek Museum’s photographic collections and the phenomenon of stereoscopic photography in the 19th century is followed by the results of a survey itself. The images were categorised by an authorship and analysed both technically and thematically. It turned out that the stereoscope collection contains the oldest photographs of China, which can be dated to the turn of the 1850’s and 1860’s.","PeriodicalId":435640,"journal":{"name":"Muzeum Muzejní a vlastivedná práce","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128864314","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The application shows interrelated data about personalities, productions, performances, institutions and ensembles down to the smallest detail and allows to search by various criteria. The collections of the Ethnological Museum, containing mainly exhibits from Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas, as well as the collections of the Museum of Asian Art, were moved from Dahlem to the newly reconstructed building of the former royal palace. Many objects on display were obtained in more or less transparent ways during the period of colonialism, in which the then German Empire also actively participated. According to the management of the museum, the curators of permanent and short-term exhibitions tried to balance the legacy of the colonial era and reflect contemporary discourse about the problematic past of the European museums. However, the authors of the text question whether the effort to come to terms with the past and to open an intercultural dialogue can be considered successful in this case, or whether the Humboldt Forum is following in the footsteps of the ethnological museums of the 19th and a large part of the 20th century, where Europeans used to go to look at “exotic” objects and where, among other things, the construction of the European colonial imagination took place.","PeriodicalId":435640,"journal":{"name":"Muzeum Muzejní a vlastivedná práce","volume":"46 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120897764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
