The use of a non-uniform current distribution aims to suppress the sidelobe level (SLL) which usually appears in the array of antenna. The proposed antenna array which is intended to work at frequency of 9.3GHz for X-band application consists of 4 × 4 microstrip patch antenna on a grounded 0.508mm thick RT/Duroid® 5880 dielectric substrate. From the characterization, it shows that the use of non-uniform current distribution can suppress the SLL up to 18dB in which this is 5dB better than the patch antenna array fed by a uniform current distribution.","PeriodicalId":434972,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116511799","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Anisotropic binary structures with equidistant and non-equidistant arrangements of modules and impedance metasurface are considered. The block principle of construction of the binary coatings is proposed. RCS reduction of the binary structures in the form of anisotropic checkerboard and structures with block addressing of modules is compared.","PeriodicalId":434972,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123342477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Current high-end positioning systems used on multi-copters have an accuracy in the order of centimetres. This study investigates the extent of errors caused by uncertainties in planar positioning during a near-field scan on wide field of view (FoV) antennas. It is found that at planar positioning accuracies of 1 cm, an upper bound far-field error of 10% at 450 MHz to 30 % at 1450 MHz can be expected.","PeriodicalId":434972,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128365660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We also show that this recoverable energy can be maximized, that is, the maximum energy can be extracted from a certain electromagnetic field distribution by minimizing the radiative energy. This maximum recoverable energy obviously never is negative and it is totally coordinate independent. A loop antenna is employed to demonstrate the notions introduced.","PeriodicalId":434972,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA)","volume":"38 12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116801562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed structure exhibits excellent frequency response, which passband is ultra-wide with the half power bandwidth varies from 12.1GHz to 17.9GHz, with relative bandwidth of 40%. At the same time, the frequency response has the merits of sharp roll-off, wide out of band rejection, as well as insensitivity within 50 degrees for both TE and TM modes. Furthermore, the impaction of key parameters of the unit cell is investigated. The passband of designed 3D-FSS can be adjustable to various applications by changing mentioned key parameters. Such a 3D-FSS is a good candidate of dielectric filled radomes using in aircraft.","PeriodicalId":434972,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116705257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reflection coefficient, radiation efficiency and Q-factor have been reported using classical Hallén's-type integral equation, based on quantum mechanical conductivity. Contrary to the ordinary metal antennas with dimensions less than 0.01 m, the addition of parasitic elements in a Yagi-Uda antenna with carbon nanotubes does not lead to significant changes in the radiation characteristics as the induced current in the parasitic elements is small. The radiation efficiency of the Yagi-Uda antenna shows little change. The Q-factor limited by radiation efficiency was compared to the fundamental limits proposed by Chu and Thal. Although the Q-factor of modelled nanotube antennas is very small, it is still larger than the fundamental limits proposed by Chu and Thal.","PeriodicalId":434972,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133663773","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed antenna is constructed of a woven fabric substrate and a copper patch on the substrate aiming at 2.45 GHz band operation. The antenna is simulated and measured with and without human body phantom. The antenna shows magnetic characteristics by comparing the power field density between E- and H-field at near field region. Moreover, the measurement shows that the antenna is well suited with the simulation results, especially the reflection coefficient parameter.","PeriodicalId":434972,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131363210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
