Our tool explores the possibilities of content based image search supported by ontological reasoning. Our framework integrates information from both image processing algorithms and semantic knowledge bases to perform interesting queries that would otherwise be impossible. We describe a novel property reasoner that is able to translate low level image features into semantically relevant object properties. A unique multi-level structure of the proposed matrix provides flexibility in generating different code lengths and code rates for various applications such as WiMax, WLAN and DVB-S2. In addition, different combinations of permuted random sub-matrices are embedded in layers, to provide virtual randomness in the LDPC matrix. Simulation results show that the HQC matrices generated by using the proposed technique has bit error rate (BER) performance very close to that of unstructured random matrices. A prototype model of partially-parallel decoder architecture has been designed by using the various matrix configurations available in the proposed technique. The proposed protocol employs prioritized network coding, where the network coded packets belong to classes that represent packets of different priorities. For a receiver, the pull procedure begins with the reception of buffer vector messages from the senders, which bring information about the numbers and classes of available packets. The receiver node decides on the rate allocation of the different classes to be requested from each of the senders. The rate allocation is cast as a video quality maximization problem and solved using a hill-climbing algorithm. The algorithm yields below 5% error rate that outperforms the state-of-the-arts. Thirdly, a run-length-based algorithm optimization flow is introduced. Finally, specific hardware architecture is developed. The modified group delay function (MODGDF) is the main feature extraction method based on group delay function, generally used for robust speech recognition. The recognition tests indicate this feature does not provide notably better results in the presence of additive noise in comparison with MFCC. In the presence of convolutional noise, the performance of MODGDF is considerably lower than MFCC. The method proposed in this paper is simple and makes more efficient utilization of the high resolution property of GDF. It is formed from three main parts which are signal modeling, GDF computation based on extracted model, and compression. A tree structure called multi-section tree is introduced that allows creating a fully-balanced hierarchy with a desired branching factor for any arbitrary number of points. The proximity problem, the challenge of keeping close-by points together in equi-partitioning process, is addressed by applying an initial bottom-up point-grouping process that divides the 3D model surface into small, nearly equal-size groups of neighboring points. Each group is represented by a small multi-section subtree but treated as a single point in the main top-down equi-splitting process. The top-down process creates the main balanced multi-section tree which holds the whole structure together. Since the quality of synthesized virtual views highly depends on the quality of the depth map, we encode the depth map by lossless coding mode. However, context-based adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC) for the H.264/AVC standard does not guarantee the best coding performance for lossless depth map coding because CABAC was originally designed for lossy coding. In this paper, we propose an improved coding method of CABAC for lossless depth map coding considering the statistical properties of residual data from lossless depth map coding. We propose an effective combination of rateless coding with intraand inter-session network coding to efficiently exploit the path diversity in the streaming overlay. Network nodes can decide to forward rateless coded packets or to code them in intra- or inter-session mode before transmission. The transmission strategy is determined based on the availability of data sources and the demands of the children nodes. Each network node solves independently a simple flow maximization problem in order to determine the optimal coding policy. Most of the state-of-art particle-based tracking algorithms are challenged due to lacking of a reliable moving object detection and drastic scale along with perspective shift of the target. Therefore, pure intensity based algorithms usually miss the target gradually without other features for correcting target location. Our method learns and maintains a contour template of the target besides intensity. Taking into account both the evolution and sudden change of the pedestrian contour, the proposed tracking algorithm maintains several sets of profiles from different perspectives and evolves them incrementally.
