The main fishing landing port of the municipality of Aracaju is the Aracaju Fishing Terminal (T.P. Aracaju), located in the city center and responsible for 85% of the fishing landings. Data on fishing landings are essential tools for fisheries management, including caught species, fleet size, fishing gear and marketing. Therefore, this study’s aim was to analyze the data collected in the monitoring years from 2010 until 2016 at the T.P. Aracaju observing the developments of fish landings. The Fisheries Landings Monitoring Project - PMPDP specifically monitored and recorded the data at the Terminal Pesqueiro de Aracaju. The results showed that during the monitoring years the landings of fish from 92 vessels, locally called “lancha”, were recorded, of which 50 vessels originated from T.P. Aracaju and the other 42 vessels from other municipalities of Sergipe and other states of Brazil. The total annual production of landed fish was 426t in 2010, 567t in 2011, 504t in 2012, 761t in 2013, 910t in 2014, 822 in 2015 and 737 in 2016. Annual revenue ranged from BRL 2,985,582.00 in 2010 to BRL 8,225,128.7 in 2016, demonstrating that the sale of fish varied little in the years monitored. The work’s results show the real production landed in T.P. Aracaju, on which public policies of fisheries management in the state of Sergipe are based.","PeriodicalId":433861,"journal":{"name":"ACTA OF FISHERIES AND AQUATIC RESOURCES","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134132228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study aimed to present information on the population structure of aratu. The catching was carried out by a professional fisherwoman using a fishing rod with a line and bait, capturing specimens of all sizes –not only those that could be sold. The results indicated that males and females showed no difference in carapace width. Comparing average weights, males were heavier than females. Among the 448 captured females, 88% were ovigera females with a tendency to decrease between February and April and then increase. The dimension of males and females regarding carapace width indicated a predominance of females in the range between 3.2 and 4.3 cm and of males in the smallest and largest ranges. The total weight/carapace width ratio for males was PT = 0.2675*LC^3.475, showing positive allometric growth, and for females PT = 0.8863*LC^2.5775, showing negative ALLOMETRIC growth. The condition factor of females was higher (approximately 1.5 times) than that of males. Data collection took place in a short period, further research is therefore required.","PeriodicalId":433861,"journal":{"name":"ACTA OF FISHERIES AND AQUATIC RESOURCES","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114932769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The record of M. tuberculata occurred in a stream located in the Rio dos Cacos microbasin (Primavera. Pará State) in the years 2019 and 2020. This is the eighth occurrence of the species in the state of Pará and the occurrence of M. tuberculata is evident. in the states of Mato Grosso and Tocantins. With this present record, the existence of more than one route of entry of the species in the Amazon region is evidenced, given the absence of connection between the water bodies where there are records of M. tuberculata. The absence of records of M. tuberculata in the other states of the Amazon region is probably due to the lack of studies and/or malacological surveys in the region. We emphasize the need to survey the mollusc fauna in the Amazon region with the aim of monitoring the invasion of exotic molluscs.","PeriodicalId":433861,"journal":{"name":"ACTA OF FISHERIES AND AQUATIC RESOURCES","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125160695","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering the historical and socioeconomic importance of the activity for the subsistence of many artisanal fishermen, there is a need to order the activity. In this context, the objective of this work was to propose guidelines for the ordering of fishing pens on the Brazilian coast, considering the installation, operation and deactivation phases. Currently, it is possible to observe traps without adequate signage, in areas held by the owners, even practicing the commercialization of the place without any documentation issued by regulatory bodies. Therefore, the installation must take place from the request for the assignment of public space by the Union for fishing purposes through a free declaratory act, online, with MAPA, under the supervision of an area technician. Subsequently, the environmental agency and the Brazilian Navy must be consulted about a 20-year authorization, renewable for another 20 years, granted by the SPU, based on Decree 10.576/2020 directed at aquaculture. In the operation and deactivation stage, the most important aspect is the inspection by the environmental agencies regarding construction issues, such as geographic location, size of structures, materials used in making, selectivity and signaling of the trap, as well as the removal of the art of fishing. Moreover, the expectation is that this legal norm will reduce the competition of conflicts for the multiple uses of water on the Brazilian coast, mainly in the reduction of accidents involving vessels and fishermen of other modalities, as well as promoting the organization of the activity.","PeriodicalId":433861,"journal":{"name":"ACTA OF FISHERIES AND AQUATIC RESOURCES","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128397855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sampling was conducted in first order streams in the microbasins of the Machado River, state of Rondônia, Brazil. In each stream, we selected two 150 m-long stretches on the main channel. The fish were sampled with different sizes of nets, stored in plastic bags, and taxonomically identified. At each site, the physiochemical parameters of the water (temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, and electrical conductivity) were measured. Thus, abundance, richness and Hill’s diversity were estimated. The Permutational Multivariate Analysis of Variance (Permanova) was applied to determine the effect in fish abundance, richness and diversity, considering microbasins, physio-chemical water and seasons as explanatory variables. A distance-based redundancy analysis (dbRDA)was performed to determine the influence of physio-chemical properties of the water across the three microbasins and their effect on fish composition. We sampled a total of 6,432 individuals belonging to 4 orders, 19 families, and 56 species. Aequidens tetramerus, Serrapinnus cff. microdon and Serrapinnus aff. notomelas were the most abundant species. Conductivity was the only explanatory variable in which a significant difference was detected for the three response variables. The dbRDA indicated that 44.57% of the total variance was explained by the variables used and were significantly correlated with the abundance and composition of the ichthyofauna (F = 1.88, p = 0.035), conductivity and pH were the most relevant factors. A significant association between fish communities and abiotic factors supports the hypothesis that broad-scale patterns in fish communities in Amazonian small streams are, at least in part, structured by abiotic conditions.","PeriodicalId":433861,"journal":{"name":"ACTA OF FISHERIES AND AQUATIC RESOURCES","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124106802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the increase in demand for fish in recent years, the expansion of productive areas of fish farms has been observed, resulting in greater territorial occupation, most of the time, in a disorganized way. The present work aimed to map the fish areas in the municipality of Santa Inês, Maranhão State. To identify the areas occupied by fish farms, the Photointerpretation Method and its recognition elements were used through the following software: Spring, QGis, Google Earth Pro and Arcview. To validate the information, on-site visits were carried out in fish farms according to the points identified using the software. According to the data obtained, the municipality of Santa Inês - MA showed an evolution in the territorial occupation of fish areas, from 22.99 hectares in 2003 to 46.84 hectares in 2011, 126.95 hectares in 2015 and 141 .86 hectares in 2017, with greater expansion in territorial occupation in the period from 2011 to 2015 (171%), with 81.25% of the mapped areas concentrated within a radius of 3 km from the municipal headquarters.
