This research is classified as a descriptive qualitative method. The primary data source of this study is the novel The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. The collecting data process is a note-taking technique. This study is also categorized as library research. Based on the findings and discussion, the researcher draws the conclusion such follows. First, there are six elements or values which characterize someone as the one who has an optimistic view of life and these ones are reflected as the symbols used in this novel. They are the values of hope, faith, power, struggle, positive-thinking, and respect. Second, that there are twelve symbols used in The Alchemist, those symbols are divided into three groups which consist of four symbols of characters, two symbols of events or concepts and six symbols of things. The result of the study shows that the twelve symbols in The Alchemist are how the author addresses Optimistic through a story of self-quest of the author. According to the whole finding, the symbols lead the readers to understand the message of Paulo Coelho that everybody can find their happiness in themselves. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan simbol-simbol yang digunakan dalam novel dan menggambarkan nilai-nilai optimistis kehidupan yang tercermin dalam simbol-simbol yang digunakan dalam Coelho's The Alchemist. Penelitian ini diklasifikasikan sebagai metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data primer dari penelitian ini adalah novel The Alchemist karya Paulo Coelho. Proses pengumpulan data adalah teknik mencatat. Penelitian ini juga termasuk penelitian kepustakaan. Berdasarkan temuan dan diskusi, peneliti menarik kesimpulan sebagai berikut. Pertama, ada enam elemen atau nilai-nilai yang mencirikan seseorang sebagai orang yang memiliki pandangan hidup yang optimis dan yang tercermin sebagai simbol yang digunakan dalam novel ini. Mereka adalah nilai-nilai harapan, iman, kekuatan, perjuangan, pemikiran positif, dan rasa hormat. Kedua, bahwa ada dua belas simbol yang digunakan dalam The Alchemist, simbol-simbol itu dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok yang terdiri dari empat simbol karakter, dua simbol peristiwa atau konsep dan enam simbol benda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua belas simbol dalam The Alchemist adalah bagaimana penulis membahas Optimistic melalui kisah pencarian diri penulis. Menurut seluruh temuan itu, simbol-simbol itu mengarahkan para pembaca untuk memahami pesan Paulo Coelho bahwa setiap orang dapat menemukan kebahagiaan mereka dalam diri mereka sendiri. The relationship / influence will be carefully examined by the results of previous studies. This research uses a meta-analysis method. Meta analysis is the study of a number of research results in a similar problem. The unit of analysis in this study is written documents about the relationship of social support to the ability of ABK socialization in the form of journal articles and research reports taken by purposive sampling based on their compatibility with the research theme. The main instrument of this study is the researchers themselves assisted with documentation guidance. Analysis of the data used is the analysis of quantitative data with percentages and analysis of qualitative data for the data of the results of the narrative study of the researches that were found. The results showed that social support from both the family and the teacher could have a positive effect on the socialization ability of children with special needs.Keywords: Meta Analysis, Social support, Ability to socialize, ABK AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan sosial terhadap kemampuan sosialisasi anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK). Hubungan/ pengaruh tersebut akan penulis teliti dari hasil-hasil penelitian terdahulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode meta-analisis. Meta analisis merupakan kajian atas sejumlah hasil penelitian dalam masalah yang sejenis. Unit analisis dalam penelitian adalah dokumen-dokumen tertulis tentang penelitian hubungan dukungan sosial terhadap kemampaun sosialisasi ABK yang berupa artikel jurnal dan laporan penelitian yang diambil secara Purposive sampling berdasarkan kesesuaiannya dengan tema penelitian. Instrumen utama penelitian ini ada peneliti sendiri dibantu dengan panduan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kuantitatif dengan prosentase dan analisis data kualitatif untuk data-data hasil kajian naratif terhadap penelitian-penelitian yang ditemui. This classroom action research aims to describe the improvement of students’ learning activity and their learning result through cooperative learning in the form of Numbered-head Together (NHT). The study was done in two cycles, involving 34 students of grade III of MI Negeri Grogol in the first semester of 2016/2017 academic year. The results of the study are as follows: 1) There was an improvement on students’ learning activity score, starting from 2.51 (less engaged) to 3.83 (highly engaged) in cycle I, 2) students’ average score on their learning result improved, starting from 65.91 (with maximum score of 85 and 35.29% or 12 students reaching the passing grade) in the prior stage to 79.74 (with minimum score of 100 and minimum score of 55 and 82.35% or 28 students reaching the passing grade) in Cycle II.Keywords: learning activity, learning result, Numbered-head Together (NHT) Abstrak.Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, bertujuan mendeskripsikan peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered-Head Together (NHT), dilakukan 2 siklus. Siswa yang diteliti kelas III (Tiga) MI Negeri Grogol semester 1 TP 2016/2017 yang berjumlah 34 siswa. Hasil penelitian ;. 1) Nilai rerata aktivitas kondisi awal 2.51 (Kurang Aktif). Kondisi akhir siklus II nilai rerata 3,83 (Sangat Aktif) . 2) Hasil belajar Matematika kondisi awal nilai tertinggi 85, nilai rerata 65.91. Ketuntasan siswa 12 siswa (35.29%). This research was conducted in January - June at SD N Kadipiro No. 144 Surakarta in class IV students. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this study were students of Class IV, and teachers at SD N Kadipiro No. 144 Surakarta. While the method of collecting data in this study is through observation, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and open questionnaires. (1) The observation method is used to be able to observe and know directly the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects of students. (2) The interview method is used to get the information needed. (3) The documentation method is used to find out the school profile, learning tools, data of Class IV students in SD N Kadipiro No. 144 Surakarta, and cognitive problems that arise in thematic learning. (4) The open questionnaire method is used to obtain information from students who have not gotten the author from the results of the interview. The technique of checking the validity of qualitative data is done by using source triangulation and method triangulation. The data in this study were analyzed in the order of data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The results of this study are found problems in (1) cognitive domain (knowledge), namely students do not understand the material to the fullest, have not been able to make the core of learning, difficulty in differentiating work that produces goods and services, difficulty in determining characterizations in fiction, there are still who do not like thematic learning, there are still students who have not done the task or test independently, and students who do not enter due to permission or illness have difficulty understanding the material independently. (2) The affective domain (attitude) is found to be a problem, namely an attitude of confidence, activeness, independence, and honesty that still needs to be emphasized again to students. (3) Psychomotor domains (skills), namely the lack of ability of students to draw three-dimensional shapes well, lack of ability to speak in front of the class, making a custom home from stick ice cream firmly, and creativity to make three-dimensional objects from plasticine.Keywords: Thematic Learning, Cognitive Domains, Affective Domains, and Domains Psychomotor. The time of this research is early the first Semester of the 2018/2019 year academic. The subjects of this research are six class teachers (CT) and three subject teachers (ST). Technique of collecting data of this research is non test technique. The instruments of collecting data of this research are the sheets of self assessment, the sheets of observation and documentation. Technique of analyzing data of this research is comparative description. The procedure of this research is using Cycle Model. This research is going on two cycles. Waktu penelitian pada awal Semester II Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. Subjek penelitian adalah enam Guru Kelas (GK) dan tiga Guru Pelajaran (GP). Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini dengan teknik nontes. Alat pengumpulan data penelitian ini dengan lembar penilaian diri sendiri, lembar pengamatan dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini adalah deskriptif komparatif. Prosedur penelitian ini menggunakan Model Siklus. Penelitian selama dua siklus. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) kompetensi pedagogik merancang program pengayaan meningkat dari kategori kurang berkompeten (D) menjadi kategori berkompeten (B) dan 2) kompetensi pedagogik merancang program pengayaan yang termasuk kategori berkompeten (B) meningkat dari 0% pada Kondisi Awal menjadi 22,23% pada Siklus I dan 88,88% pada Siklus II. This research includes the type of R & D research and development (research and development) with the research procedure using the ADDIE model. The data collection in this research is done at Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Material and media validation was done by 3 lecturers in each field, and the product trial was conducted on the fourth grade students of SD Negeri Tegalarum 2 Mranggen with 30 students. The result of this research is qualitative data and quantitative data. The validation results by the media expert obtained a score of 92% (excellent criteria). Expert material validation results obtained a score of 83% (excellent criteria). Questionnaire teacher response to the media obtained a score of 91% (criteria excellent). The result of questionnaire of student response to the media obtained a score of 97% (very good criteria). Student evaluation result by using media MOONSTAR (super smart monopoly) get value of gain equal to 0,51 with medium category. Thus the development of learning media MOONSTAR (super smart monopoly) can be used as a medium of learning and otherwise feasible as a medium of learning . Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat validitas media MOONSTAR (monopoli super pintar) serta untuk mengetahui pembelajaran menggunakan media MOONSTAR (monopoli super pintar) berbantu model pembelajaran talking stick lebih efektif dari pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian dan pengembangan R&D (research and development) dengan prosedur penelitian menggunakan model ADDIE. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan pada tahap Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and, Evaluation. Validasi materi dan media dilakukan oleh dosen ahli bidang masing-masing sebanyak 3 orang, dan uji coba produk dilakukan pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Tegalarum 2 Mranggen sebanyak 30 siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif. Hasil validasi oleh ahli media memperoleh skor 92% (kriteria baik sekali). Hasil validasi ahli materi memperoleh skor 83% (kriteria baik sekali). Angket respon guru terhadap media memperoleh skor 91% (kriteria baik sekali). Hasil angket respon siswa terhadap media memperoleh skor 97% (kriteria baik sekali). Hasil evaluasi siswa dengan menggunakan media MOONSTAR (monopoli super pintar) memperoleh nilai gain sebesar 0,51 dengan kategori sedang. Dengan demikian pengembangan media pembelajaran MOONSTAR (monopoli super pintar) dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran dan dinyatakan layak sebagai media pembelajaran. As an educator, we must also be creative and innovative to find new innovations in learning. One of the innovations in learning is by utilizing the Google Docs application. This paper is based on classroom action research on the use of the Google Docs application to support the use of Peer-Review technique in writing for English department students of Widya Dharma University of Klaten. The results of the study show that the Peer-Review technique by utilizing the Google Docs application in writing can 1) train students to think critically, observantly, and thoroughly when reviewing their friends’ writing which can automatically improve their own writing skills; 2) increase the ability to collaborate and work together to have global competitiveness in the 21 st century; 3) motivate students to be active in completing writing assignments; 4) make learning in the classroom more meaningful by creating a more lively classroom situation; 5) make students feel more enjoying and active in writing; 6) save paper usage; 7) provide allowance to students for whenever and wherever they want to review the writing of their friends without having to be bound by time and place when learning to write in class; 8) can boost the sharpness of student analysis so that it can be used also in other fields of study. Sebagai seorang pendidik, kita juga harus selalu kreatif dan inovatif untuk mencari inovasi baru dalam pembelajaran. Salah satu inovasi dalam pembelajaran adalah dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Google Docs . Makalah ini berdasarkan penelitian tindakan kelas tentang pemanfaatan aplikasi Google Docs untuk mendukung penggunaan teknik Peer-Review dalam pembelajaran menulis mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Widya Dharma Klaten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan teknik Peer-Review dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Google Docs dalam pembelajaran menulis dapat 1) melatih mahasiswa untuk berfikir kritis, jeli, dan teliti saat menelaah tulisan temannya yang secara otomatis dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis mereka sendiri; 2) meningkatkan kemampuan berkolaborasi dan bekerja sama agar memiliki daya saing global di abad ke-21; 3) memotivasi mahasiswa untuk aktif dalam menyelesaikan tugas menulis; 4) membuat pembelajaran di kelas menjadi lebih berarti dengan menciptakan situasi di kelas lebih hidup; 5) membuat mahasiswa merasa lebih menikmati dan aktif pada pembelajaran menulis; 6) menghemat penggunaan kertas; 7) memberikan kelonggaran kepada mahasiswa untuk kapanpun dan dimanapun mereka ingin mereview tulisan temannya tanpa harus terikat waktu dan tempat saat pembelajaran menulis di kelas; serta 8) dapat mendongkrak ketajaman analisis mahasiswa sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan pula pada bidang-bidang kajian lain. Teachers are also required to improve the quality of learning through a variety of innovations, one of them through ethnoscience. Ethnoscience raised the culture and local wisdom to serve as an object of learning science so that makes learning more meaningful. This study aims to analyze the needs of students in learning science in elementary school. The analysis is used in designing learning models that can combine science and local wisdom values through ethnosciences. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling, with sample of 10 elementary school teachers in Banjarsari. Data were collected through literature study, documentation, and interview and analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded as follows: 1) The teacher can determine the local culture and sort the material to be integrated in the learning of science based on local culture, 2) Learning resources that can be used in learning ethnoscience is the environment, literature, audio visual, and internet, and 3) Teachers can use a variety of methods in learning ethnosciences. Keyword: Ethnoscience, Learning Quality, Local Wisdom. Abstrak Pembelajaran sains berbasis kearifan lokal di SD merupakan salah satu upaya untuk menanamkan nilai kearifan lokal pada anak sejak dini. Guru juga dituntut untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran melalui berbagai macam inovasi salah satunya melalui etnosains. Etnosains mengangkat budaya dan kearifan lokal untuk dijadikan sebagai objek pembelajaran sains sehingga membuat pembelajaran lebih bermakna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan siswa dalam belajar IPA di SD. Analisis tersebut digunakan dalam merancang model pembelajaran yang dapat memadukan antara sains dan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal melalui etnosains. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling, dengan sampel sebanyak 10 orang guru Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Banjarsari. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi pustaka, dokumentasi, dan wawancara serta dianalisis secara deskriptif. The type of this research is School Action Research (SAR). This research is taken place on Elementary School of Tasikagung, Sub District of Rembang, Regency of Rembang. The subjects of this research are the teachers of the class and the subject matters ones on the Elementary School of Tasikagung on the first semester of 2017/2018 year academic. The subjects of this research are consists of 9 civil officer teachers and 4 non regular teachers. Technique of collecting data of this research is non test technique, consist of observation and documentation. The instruments of collecting data of this research are the sheets of observation and the camera application on the hand phone. Technique of analyzing data of this research is comparative description. The procedure of this research is cycle model that consist of 4 steps that are plan, action, observation and reflection. The results of this research are 1) academic supervision with class visiting technique is a direct observation with ideal position on observing the learning, 2) academic supervision with class visiting technique is a direct observation with out interview and intervention to the teachers who implement the learning, 3) academic supervision with class visiting techniques are an individual by the head master according to the class visiting schedule and a group with the interested teachers as reference to implement the educative learning, 4) academic supervision with class visiting technique increases the teachers pedagogic competency in implementation educative learning. Abstrak Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan supervisi akademik teknik kunjungan kelas pada guru SDN Tasikagung dalam menyelenggarakan pembelajaran yang mendidik pada Semester I Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018 dan menganalisis supervisi akademik teknik kunjungan kelas pada Semester I Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018 terhadap kompetensi pedagogik guru SDN Tasikagung dalam menyelenggarakan pembelajaran yang mendidik.Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Sekolah (PTS). Penelitian ini dilakukan di SDN Tasikagung, Kecamatan Rembang, Kabupaten Rembang. Penelitian ini berlangsung pada awal Semester I Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018. Subyek penelitian ini adalah Guru Kelas dan Guru Mata Pelajaran SDN Tasikagung pada Semester I Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018.
