The space environment with extreme vacuum and radiation conditions is one of the main reasons to implement AMR magnetometer as the space environment is highly hostile compared to the surface of the Earth. From the conventional satellites era to the nano-satellites concept, it seems to be that AMR magnetometer has a great response time characteristic compared to an old method of the magnetometer. Hence, making it crucial to develop an AMR magnetometer for nano-satellite that is invulnerable with radiation despite the use of its magnetic sensor for geomagnetic field mapping. By May 2018, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) will launch its own nano-satellite in space and the ground station installation is compulsory to observe the satellite. There are 6 missions involved in developing the UiTM Nano-Satellite Ground-Space Integrated Mission (G-SIM) and this project is classified as one of the missions which to comprehend the measurement ambient geomagnetic field. The similar features of AMR magnetometer will be installed at the ground station and space in order to study the coupling effect of the magnetic field from both ambients. The aim of this project is to collect H, D, Z, and F measurement data from the magnetometer sensor so that the microcontroller can process the information. Next, the measurement data will be stored in a micro SD memory card and will be displayed on a serial monitor for monitoring purpose. The measurement data of magnetic field retrieved from the sensor will be analyzed and compared with the World Magnetic Model (WMM) that demonstrates a prediction of magnetic field components throughout the globe.","PeriodicalId":433341,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and System Engineering (ICEESE)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125920658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The evolution of metamaterials starts from 2007 until 2017 was traced. The review indicates that Left handed metamaterial (LHM) lens when integrated with an antenna can improve focusing capabilities of the antenna used as an applicator to treat the cancerous area. However, current applicators have poor focal spot when directed towards the actual tumour area. Subsequently, a proposed modified applicator that integrates Left-Handed Metamaterial (LHM) lens with existing antenna is discussed. The proposed antenna termed LHMA is expected to have an improved focusing capabilities which could be used to kill cancerous tissues without severely affecting surrounding healthy tissues. The goal of the research is to reduce unwanted hot-spots developed using current available applicators. The focusing abilites of the proposed appicator will be evaluated using the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR).","PeriodicalId":433341,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and System Engineering (ICEESE)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117055772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The work is implemented using GPS and GSM technology. The overall system involved an integration of two systems which is coordinated by the GPS receiver controller and controlled by user using command interfaces through GSM module as a transmitter and receiver of data. The integration also is accomplished between GPS receiver, Arduino microcontroller and GSM module. This work is divided into two parts which are hardware and software development. The hardware development includes the GPS, microcontroller and GSM module with Arduino. The software development includes the development of the microcontroller source code. The results of the tracking is determined through the victim location of longitude and latitude which is displayed using the Google Map website to verify the accuracy of the data transfer and received through the GPS and GSM technology via mobile phone.","PeriodicalId":433341,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and System Engineering (ICEESE)","volume":"151 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114638625","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in some occurrences driving activity can cause disaster or death to human in daily life as they get fatigued while driving. Driving fatigue is one of the top contributor to the road crashes. Therefore this study is to develop a driving fatigue strain index (DFSI), to quantify the risk levels caused by driving activity, and to propose an appropriate solution in minimizing the number of road accidents caused by the driving fatigue. The development of DFSI is based on risk factors associated with driving activity such as muscle activity, heart rate, hand grip force, seat pressure distribution, whole-body vibration, and driving duration. All risk factors are assigned with multipliers, and the DFSI is the output or result of those multipliers. The development of DFSI is essential to analyze the risk factors that would contribute significantly to discomfort and fatigue associated with driving. Besides, in the future this index will have a capability to recommend alternative solutions to minimize fatigue while driving.","PeriodicalId":433341,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and System Engineering (ICEESE)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125225641","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
