Within the scope of this aim, cyberloafing levels of middle school students were examined in terms of various variables. For this research; which was modelled with explanatory sequential mixed pattern, one of the mixed methods, 355 middle school students were selected through the convenient sampling method that is one of the purposive sampling methods. 24 students were interviewed for the qualitative part of the study. Quantitative data were collected via Personal Information Form, Cyberloafing Activities Scale; and qualitative data were collected via Semi-Structured İnterview Form. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 program and content analysis. When the findings were examined, it was observed that the cyberloafing levels of middle school students were low. However, it was determined that students perform moderate cyberloafing in the \"accessing content\" and \"sharing\" sub-dimensions within the scope of the sub-dimensions of cyberloafing. It was observed that the cyberloafing behaviors of the students vary significantly in terms of their age, gender, and grade level. It was observed that middle school students mostly watch videos, listen to music, download applications, text their friends, etc., and perform cyberloafing on music websites, TV series websites, movie websites, YouTube, Instagram, and social media. In order to decrease the cyberloafing behaviors of middle school students, various suggestions were made, including the cooperation of parents and teachers.","PeriodicalId":432949,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Educational Technology and Online Learning","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121564455","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has come to life in applications in different forms, from the years when education was seen as a mere transfer of knowledge, to the years when technological developments accelerated and transnational classes could be formed. Due to the mandatory pandemic conditions experienced in 2020 and whose effects were observed at the global level, discussions and studies on distance education in the field of educational sciences gained momentum and became one of the important concepts. This situation has also guided the scale development studies on distance education and it is aimed to measure the concept of distance education by associating it with many factors such as attitude, satisfaction and perception. However, in the literature review, no content analysis was found regarding the scales developed/adapted for distance education. The aim of this study; The aim of this study is to examine the distance education scales developed in Turkish and adapted to Turkish for higher education students. In this context, scale development and adaptation studies related to the concept of distance education in Turkish with higher education students in the study group were scanned through Google Scholar, TOAD and ResaarchGate databases, and the scales developed/adapted were examined in terms of sub-dimensions, distribution by years, scale types, number of items and scale types analyzed. The research is a qualitative study in which document analysis method is used. In the research, 22 scale development/adaptation studies were examined by scanning model method. According to the results, it was seen that the scale development/adaptation studies were carried out mostly in 2021 (6), the development studies (17) were dominant, the number of items in the scales was in the range of 21-30 items (8), and it was developed in a 5-point Likert type (20). It has been shown that / is adapted.","PeriodicalId":432949,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Educational Technology and Online Learning","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130142137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
