Currently, radio frequency soil moisture meters are the most common. The technical documentation of these devices indicates that the measurement error in them can reach 1 %. However, as the results of known experimental measurements show, such a result is achieved only after calibration with respect to a specific type of soil. Calculations show that in the absence of such calibration, the error can grow up to 15 %. In this regard, spectral methods of measuring soil moisture are more advantageous. The wellknown results of the conducted studies show that in this method the main interfering factor is the content of organic substances in the soil and taking into account only the phosphorus content in the soil makes it possible to achieve a measurement error of 6.5 %. This circumstance emphasizes the prospects of exploring additional ways to increase the efficiency of spectral methods for measuring the moisture content in the soil. The question of the optimal construction of a soil moisture monitoring network based on contact dualband optical soil moisture sensors operating in the NIR and SWIR ranges is formulated and solved. It is shown that the use of the usual averaging of the measurement results obtained on two ranges of the sensor when measuring with a constant frequency can lead to an inaccurate result due to differences in the dynamic ranges of optical signals at the detector inputs caused by the non-identity of the humidification conditions of the sub-field. The possibility of choosing an adaptive measurement mode is shown when sub-stages with a large dynamic range of humidity changes should be measured with a higher frequency, proportional to the specified dynamic range, which is equivalent to the implementation of an adaptive measurement mode.","PeriodicalId":432853,"journal":{"name":"Kontrol'. The low strain impact testing allows us to estimate the pile length and the presence of defects in its body. This provides designers and builders with information on structures, which can be considered when planning the further operation of the foundation. Improving the reliability of test results for examining piles under cap is the issue of interest. On the example of field test results, the application of the multifrequency signal excitation during data collection and the wavelet analysis of signals during data processing are shown.","PeriodicalId":432853,"journal":{"name":"Kontrol'. Under thermal action, chemical and physical changes occur in polymers. The degree of thermal damage depends on the time and temperature of exposure [1]. The aim of the work was to establish the dependence of color characteristics in the RGB system on the temperature and time of exposure to PVC samples. A criterion for controlling the degree of thermal damage and a device for implementing the method are proposed. The device is based on the TCS3472 color sensor and a programmable logic controller. The data obtained can be used in the investigation of fires at objects with polymer finishes when detecting fire propagation paths, as well as monitoring the degree of thermal damage to polymers during various technological processes.","PeriodicalId":432853,"journal":{"name":"Kontrol'. Based on the results of numerical simulation, a comparative analysis of encircling addycurrent probes with different lengths of the exciting coil is carried out. A probe with a narrow exciting coil has a pronounced dependence of the ratio of signals from defects in different layers on the position of the measuring coils. The use of measuring coils located at different distances from the center of the exciting coil makes it possible to increase the signal-to-noise ratio due to the separation in the radial direction of the parts of the object that mainly form signals and noise in different measuring coils. The use of a system of surface measuring coils instead of encircling measuring coils makes it possible to increase the signal-to-noise ratio due to the separation in the azimuthal direction of the parts of the object that mainly form signals and noise in each of the surface measuring coils.","PeriodicalId":432853,"journal":{"name":"Kontrol'. Calculations of signals using an exciting pulse in the form of a voltage jump (step), in the form of half a sine wave and a rectangular shape have shown the feasibility of using rectangular pulses with a duration equal to half of the oscillation period at the nominal frequency of the probe. The maximum of the pulse envelope of the recorded bottom echo for the excitation pulse of a rectangular shape piezoelectric plate is approximately twice as high as the maximum of the envelope when the piezoelectric plate is excited by a pulse in the form of a jump and a quarter more than the maximum when excited by a semi sinusoidal pulse for the nominal frequencies of the probes 2.5 and 5.0 MHz.","PeriodicalId":432853,"journal":{"name":"Kontrol'.
