In this report, we propose to use an integrated system called xPrint platform to seamlessly combine digital design with prototype fabrication for producing shape changing interfaces. This platform with pre-programming transformation interfaces design is applicable for micron-level deposition of a wide range of materials regardless of its viscosity and other physical properties, and it provides features including high-throughput, improved accuracy, and high flexibility.","PeriodicalId":432851,"journal":{"name":"SIGGRAPH Asia 2015 Posters","volume":"193 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115629058","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We developed BITAIKA with visual feedback as a first step and found out it may be effective to correct a user's posture with visual assistance [Ishimatsu and Ueoka 2014]. However in order to correct its posture by refining its muscle structure, it is necessary to use it for long term. In that sense, it is not sure if visual feedback is adequate because we usually do computer or paper work while sitting and as we concentrate on the work we easily ignore the notification action from the system. So in order to find the right feedback for BITAIKA, we implemented a system to give stimuli to a user's back to notify the timing to correct its posture. We conducted the experiment to compare the effectiveness between visual and back-stimuli feedback.","PeriodicalId":432851,"journal":{"name":"SIGGRAPH Asia 2015 Posters","volume":"31 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114021234","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since the markers are automatically embedded on a projection surface with mechanical accuracy, precise geometric registration is achieved(Figure 2). However, the shape of markers printed on a nonplanar surface is possibly deformed, which potentially decreases the performance of vision-based marker recognition. In addition, the marker itself is visually salient, and consequently, disturbs a user's sense of immersion. To solve the former issue, we apply a marker whose shape is topologically robust when being deformed. For the latter issue, we carefully decide the reflectance of the marker so that it can be visually diminished by projection while being detectable by cameras. We also proposed a novel marker placement method, which decides the positions of markers so that the position/pose of the object is accurately estimated from various viewpoints.","PeriodicalId":432851,"journal":{"name":"SIGGRAPH Asia 2015 Posters","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114360752","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Then, the range of observation, which is a common field of views from a lot of cameras, is narrow in general. Allowing the cameras to be mobile, it expects a wide range of observation but needs to know pose of cameras anytime. We propose a novel calibration technique for a mobile camera, where an image from mobile camera matches with a panoramic background image. Once the cameras are calibrated, fitting a human body model to multi-view images and tracking the body establish a wide-range motion capture system.","PeriodicalId":432851,"journal":{"name":"SIGGRAPH Asia 2015 Posters","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124989836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We introduce an event--driven method to dynamically change color rendition in such rendering scenarios. Changes can happen over time or over space and are triggered by pre-defined events. Such events cause the selection of a particular color palette and node--based \"strategy trees\" help artists to plan and to visualize resulting look changes interactively. As an optimization, we rely on dynamic shading language code generation to prepare colors before rendering, avoiding the limits of render--time methods.","PeriodicalId":432851,"journal":{"name":"SIGGRAPH Asia 2015 Posters","volume":"os-14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127764333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Augmented reality (AR) allows on-site workers to understand operational procedures visually and instantly. However, conventional work support AR systems are problematic in work efficiency or can only be applied to routine tasks. For such systems, emergency situations are the most difficult to deal with. The contribution of this paper is to propose a system that meets all the requirements for supporting tasks in emergencies as shown in Table 1.","PeriodicalId":432851,"journal":{"name":"SIGGRAPH Asia 2015 Posters","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125275252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is significant research of fluids interacting with porous materials in applied physics. However, only a few research studies have been conducted for the dynamics of liquid transportation between porous materials with wetting effects. [Huber, et al. 2014] presented a two-way coupling method between fluid and infinitesimally thin cloth. However, their approach cannot handle porous solids or oversaturated piece. [Patkar and Chaudhuri 2013] proposed a three-stage method to support liquid diffusion in volumetric objects. However, fluid transport between porous materials which is tightly close to each other was not considered.","PeriodicalId":432851,"journal":{"name":"SIGGRAPH Asia 2015 Posters","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116871164","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is because floating images by aerial projection system can attract viewers. In particular, floating 3D motion pictures make impressions on viewers. Although there are many techniques to project floating 3D motion pictures, they require multiple projectors or mechanical rotating and scanning processing to project floating 3D images. Then we proposed and demonstrated an aerial projection system based on electroholography which can reconstruct 3D images without multiple projectors and mechanical processing [Kakue et al. 2015]. Although we achieved real-time reconstruction of 3D images in previous study, we only focused on acceleration of calculation. In this work, we aim to realize interactive reconstruction of floating 3D motion pictures by the electro-holographic display.","PeriodicalId":432851,"journal":{"name":"SIGGRAPH Asia 2015 Posters","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125714019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
