The diagnosis of cardiovascular involved in complex procedures whereas the analysis of blood vessels carried out. The image segmentation technique is used to eliminate such complexities in Ultrasound carotid image diagnosis. In this paper the implementation of segmented intima-media interface of the common carotid artery image has been proposed in real time Virtex Field Programmable Gate Array. The intima-media interface has been extracted using threshold segmentation technique. The pre-processing step is used to remove speckles present in the ultrasound carotid image and the morphological techniques can be used in segmentation algorithm with the aid of Aphelion Dev software. The resulting image has been implemented in Virtex which provides minimum hardware resources and low power consumption and is desirable for real time medical applications and analysis.","PeriodicalId":432479,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication Engineering Systems","volume":"116 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124058051","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is not possible to operate the CMOS based 6-Transistor (6T) SRAM cell bellow 600 mV. Hence, to mitigate the effect of process fluctuations a CNFET based 8T SRAM cell is proposed in this article. Different design metrics of an SRAM cell are accessed for the proposed cell and to show its effectiveness, the design metrics are compared with its conventional counterpart. The proposed cell consumes 2.06× less power during hold mode and it also offers improvement in write delay (read delay) by 5.23× (4.41×) @ 200 mV compared to conventional CMOS based 8T cell. It depicts its robustness against process fluctuations by showing narrower spread in write delay (95.17%), read delay (75.20%) and hold power consumption (87.34%) for the same supply voltage. The proposed CNFET based 8T cell shows 59.41% higher read stability @ 400 mV than the CMOS based 8T SRAM cell.","PeriodicalId":432479,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication Engineering Systems","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121707238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motion Estimation (ME) is a key component for high quality video compression, which is characterized by its high computation complexity and memory requirements. Motion Estimation has been conventionally used in the application of video encoding, but nowadays researchers from various fields other than video encoding are turning towards ME to solve various real time problems in their respective fields. The main aim of the survey paper is to analyze ME in video compression techniques for video processing, especially to estimate how much amount of data to be compressed, which technique is faster and so on. We also compare video compression techniques with conventional methods like ES, ARP, Run length, and Huffman coding. The existing conventional techniques will be implemented on the MATLAB platform and the performance of video compression technique is evaluated with Compression Ratio (CR), Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and search patterns.","PeriodicalId":432479,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication Engineering Systems","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123829753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Both of the parameters depend on the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) of the received signal. Improving the SNR of the received signal by using some signal processing techniques enhances the performance of the radar without any changes to the other subsystems of the Radar. There are various signal processing algorithms among which correlation and pulse integration are very popular and widely used. These algorithms should be implemented using suitable hardware to process the received signal in real time. The deadlines available for such processing are of the order one to two milli seconds. Therefore implementation of any signal-processing algorithm in real time is very critical and challenging. In this paper we propose design and implementation of an optimized correlation algorithm (correlator) with minimum computation time and hardware resources for a pulsed Continuous Wave (CW) radar using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). Improvement in the radar tracking performance using this correlator is also presented.","PeriodicalId":432479,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication Engineering Systems","volume":"154 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132170748","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

DA is an efficient technique for the computation of the dot product of two vectors. This is done by storing the pre-computed partial-products in memories which are then shift-accumulated for the computation of the output. DA can be used for the realization of the finite impulse response (FIR) filters, however, for the realization of the adaptive filters, the partial-products have to be updated from time to time. This is achieved by using a memory which stores the partial-products of the set of recent input samples. The proposed scheme has a convergence performance similar to that of the multiply-and-accumulate (MAC) based implementation. Results show that the throughput of the DA based implementation is better than the MAC based implementation. Further, it is observed that the throughput is almost a constant with respect to the filter order which makes it more suitable for implementing large filters.","PeriodicalId":432479,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Signal Processing and Communication Engineering Systems","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130032383","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
