The quality of nursing care is crucial as patients rely on nurses to address their complaints. This study aims to determine the relationship between nurse burnout and patient safety culture with the quality of nursing care. An analytical observational design with a cross-sectional study approach was conducted in two Type B Hospitals in Central Sulawesi Province with 235 nurse respondents in the inpatient room, using purposive sampling. Data analysis included the Pearson product-moment test and multivariate modeling. Results indicated a significant relationship between nurse burnout and nursing care quality (p-value <0.05), as well as between patient safety culture and nursing care quality. The dominant variable related to the quality of nursing care was patient safety culture (β = 0.723). The study highlights that nurse burnout negatively impacts the quality of nursing care, whereas a strong patient safety culture improves it. Theoretically, this research expands the understanding of the interplay between nurse burnout, patient safety culture, and nursing care quality, emphasizing the need for organizational support and effective communication. Practically, it suggests that hospital administrators should implement strategies to reduce nurse burnout and foster a positive patient safety culture, such as stress management programs and a supportive work environment, to enhance nursing care quality and improve patient outcomes.","PeriodicalId":431769,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Health Sains","volume":"55 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141350457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Triage errors can be dangerous and endanger patient safety, so nursing students should have a solid understanding of triage. This study investigates the impact of ESI triage learning media containing PowerPoint and animated films on knowledge, triage decision-making (TDM), and participant satisfaction. The research used a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental pretest-posttest method involving 36 5th semester Diploma Nursing students at the Makassar Ministry of Health Polytechnic. The study was divided into two groups, experimental (animated video learning) and control (PowerPoint learning), to evaluate the effect of treatment on knowledge, triage decision-making, and student satisfaction in ESI triage learning. The results of the data analysis show a significant increase in knowledge about ESI Triage and student satisfaction after the intervention, with significant values of 0.001 and 0.018, respectively (p-value < 0.05). Although there was no significant increase in Triage decision-making abilities between the groups that used animated videos and Microsoft PowerPoint (p = 0.440), the use of animated videos overall increased student responses and satisfaction. MANOVA analysis confirmed that the implementation of animated videos significantly influenced knowledge and satisfaction in students with a p-value <0.05. The use of animated videos increases student knowledge and satisfaction significantly compared to PowerPoint, although it does not affect triage decision-making.","PeriodicalId":431769,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Health Sains","volume":" 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141364698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Trauma assessment tools are crucial for reducing mortality rates and enhancing patient outcomes. While ISS focuses on anatomical factors, RTS integrates physiological parameters, and TRISS combines both for a comprehensive evaluation. Previous research suggests their effectiveness in mortality prediction, albeit with variations in performance. The absence of a dedicated trauma assessment system at the hospital underscores the urgency of this research. By evaluating the performance of ISS, RTS, and TRISS, this study aims to inform clinical practice and enhance trauma patient management, ultimately reducing mortality rates and improving outcomes in the emergency room setting. The study's methodology involves retrospective analysis of trauma patient data, including demographics, injury characteristics, and outcomes. Statistical analysis will compare the performance of the three scoring systems in predicting mortality with implications for trauma care protocols and resource allocation. Results will contribute to evidence-based decision-making in emergency room settings, facilitating more accurate triage and treatment strategies for trauma patients.","PeriodicalId":431769,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Health Sains","volume":" 24","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141000477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Exclusive breastfeeding entails providing only breast milk to infants from birth to 6 months old, excluding any other food or drinks except medications and vitamins. However, breastfeeding is not halted after exclusive breastfeeding; it continues until the child is two years old. Utilising the scoping review method, the research employed the Population, Concept, and Context (PCC) framework. Six articles meeting the inclusion criteria were identified from a pool of 1,553 articles from PubMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley, and Research Rabbit databases. These articles shed light on the challenges, experiences, barriers, and support systems related to breastfeeding and childcare encountered by women with physical disabilities. The research on breastfeeding experiences among women with physical disabilities reveals both facilitators and barriers. Facilitators include adaptations, peer support, and necessary equipment, while barriers encompass insufficient support, health considerations, and milk production and latching challenges. These findings underscore the importance of tailored support and access to information for women with physical disabilities who aim to breastfeed effectively. Implementing such support mechanisms can contribute to improving breastfeeding rates among this demographic, thus promoting the health and well-being of both mothers and infants while addressing societal attitudes toward disability issues.","PeriodicalId":431769,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Health Sains","volume":" 46","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140998355","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cianjur Hospital is one of the health facilities affected by the Cianjur earthquake; due to the earthquake, almost all parts of the hospital were damaged, so some health services were carried out in emergency tents. The purpose of this study was to obtain an analysis of the disaster logistics management system at RSUD Cianjur. The design used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The informants in this study were 5 employees of Cianjur Hospital. Data collection is carried out through in-depth interviews, document studies, and observations. Analysis data processing uses data reduction analysis, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that the disaster logistics management system at Cianjur Hospital had appropriate planning, but there was little difficulty meeting needs. At the time of procurement and/or receipt, there is a discrepancy in needs and an unclear identity of the sender. There are two logistics warehouses, namely inside the building and in the emergency tent, but the warehouse security in the emergency tent is less safe and the place is inadequate. In distribution, there is speed, accuracy, and the amount of distribution that is sometimes not right. It is recommended that hospitals optimize the performance of each human resource as well as write SOPs regarding disaster logistics management systems.","PeriodicalId":431769,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Health Sains","volume":"28 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141010654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
