Based on this limitation, the researchers sought to investigate this lacuna thereby bridging a knowledge gap. The study's priorities were to find out how system integration, agility and leanness of automation and supply chain strategy affect and enhance manufacturing firms' operational performance. In course of the study, data were obtained from 415 employees of manufacturing firms in Nigeria with the help of a structured questionnaire. Descriptive and inferential statistical approaches, as well as OLS estimation techniques, were used to evaluate the data. As a consequence of the studies, it was discovered that system integration of automation and autonomation supply chain strategies has a significant relationship with operational performance of manufacturing firms.","PeriodicalId":43149,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Value Chain Management","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136092816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In which planning and scheduling of preventive maintenance activities are considered to be a major issue in SMEs. This study is to propose the optimal framework of the preventive maintenance (PM) planning and scheduling process in SMEs. The optimal maintenance parameters (failure rate and repair rate), availability variations of the systems have been predicted through the utilisation of the Markov birth-death approach. To overcome the drawbacks associated with the existing optimal PM plan, a new approach is proposed in this study to develop an optimal preventive maintenance plan for electronic actuating switch manufacturers through the digital ecosystem. This proposed method integrates manufacturing subsystem failure into smart digital ecosystems and also to estimate the actual remaining useful life of the machines.","PeriodicalId":43149,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Value Chain Management","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135535119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite generally positive opinions of SCM careers, high levels of turnover among SCM professionals exist, and burnout has often been cited as a cause for turnover. Based on a survey of 104 US-based SCM professionals, and using person-environment fit as a theoretical background, this study found that burnout is increased when workers perceive a deficit in the amount of remote work permitted and when working overtime and non-traditional hours (OT/NT), whereas burnout is reduced by pay satisfaction and a perception of transformational leadership. There is also an interaction between pay satisfaction and OT/NT, with OT/NT taking precedence over pay satisfaction in driving feelings of burnout. Very few studies have addressed talent management among SCM professionals, and this study has identified insights that are relevant to managers and to future research on this subject.","PeriodicalId":43149,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Value Chain Management","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135535117","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We examined scaling and relations of morphology and locomotion in sidewinder rattlesnakes (Crotalus cerastes). During sidewinding locomotion, a snake lifts sections of its body up and forward while other sections maintain static ground contact. We used high-speed video to quantify whole-animal speed and acceleration; the height to which body sections are lifted; and the frequency, wavelength, amplitude and skew angle (degree of tilting) of the body wave. Kinematic variables were not sexually dimorphic, and most did not deviate from isometry, except wave amplitude. Larger sidewinders were not faster, contrary to many results from limbed terrestrial animals. Free from the need to maintain dynamic similarity (because their locomotion is dominated by friction rather than inertia), limbless species may have greater freedom to modulate speed independently of body size. Path analysis supported: (1) a hypothesized relationship between body width and wavelength, indicating that stouter sidewinders form looser curves; (2) a strong relationship between cycle frequency and whole-animal speed; and (3) weaker effects of wavelength (positive) and amplitude (negative) on speed. We suggest that sidewinding snakes may face a limit on stride length (to which amplitude and wavelength both contribute), beyond which they sacrifice stability. Thus, increasing frequency may be the best way to increase speed. Finally, frequency and skew angle were correlated, a result that deserves future study from the standpoint of both kinematics and physiology.</p>","PeriodicalId":43149,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Value Chain Management","volume":"3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9080748/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88933737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
