In this work the context adaptation is considered as a set of rules on the following parameters: connectivity, user availability and user location. These rules anticipate the changes that may occur on the environment parameters in order to provide an adaptable service. A decision tree-based approach is used to help extracting generalized rules from a variety of contextual information. A collaborative mobile telediagnosis application illustrates the suggested approach and its implementation.","PeriodicalId":431237,"journal":{"name":"2010 10th Annual International Conference on New Technologies of Distributed Systems (NOTERE)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115413798","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This computing technology can he used potentially to compose new distributed collaborative applications and make easy the development of more complex Web processes. In this context, other representatives computing technologies, such as peer-to-peer (P2P), have also adopted the service-oriented approach and exposed functionalities as services. Recently, Web services based on P2P computing require special attention from collaboration and interoperability in a distributed computing environment. In this paper, we present a distributed architecture for semantic Web services automatic composition through a P2P network This architecture implements a pure distributed solution based on epidemic discovery algorithms to discover semantic Web services in unstructured Peer-to-Peer networks. However, a centralized base in this solution contains ontologies r fields helping different peers to develop semantic descriptions for their Web services.","PeriodicalId":431237,"journal":{"name":"2010 10th Annual International Conference on New Technologies of Distributed Systems (NOTERE)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126328856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, we focus on the case where the partner Web services are also orchestrated. For such services, we employ an Aspect oriented approach based on checkpoint/rollback mechanisms which enables the orchestration process to migrate to another host and resume its execution starting from the last captured checkpoint. Thus, we handle the migration of both the main and partner orchestration processes independently or at the same time. In addition, we employ a low cost rollback mechanism where the partner orchestrated services don't need to be re-executed. They will directly return the result, if their execution was finished before the main orchestration process interruption. Otherwise, they will resume their execution starting from the last captured checkpoint. An experimentation has been performed on a Travel agency case study deployed on the AO4BPEL engine. It shows the efficiency and the usability of our approach.","PeriodicalId":431237,"journal":{"name":"2010 10th Annual International Conference on New Technologies of Distributed Systems (NOTERE)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128019887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a matter of fact, it offers better performances in terms of resource management and automatic allocation. Furthermore, when an overload occurs in one of the Virtual Machine (VM), live migration is needed. This latter has to take into account the resource availability in the host VM and tend to load balance the nodes and connections. In this paper, we will present the challenges and techniques of live migration in VNE.","PeriodicalId":431237,"journal":{"name":"2010 10th Annual International Conference on New Technologies of Distributed Systems (NOTERE)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126849056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We start from the design proposed by the Real-time Specification for Java to handle asynchronous events and we extend and generalize it to form an event manager component. This component manages the relations between the triggering of distributed events, the events handlers and the resource allocations (servers and processors). The allocation process consists of setting individual event handlers to servers and servers to processors. The component uses the description of the events relations to generate a state automaton used to release their handlers. The feasibility analysis is processed at a component level and takes into account the events relations and the association of the servers with the processors (affinity).","PeriodicalId":431237,"journal":{"name":"2010 10th Annual International Conference on New Technologies of Distributed Systems (NOTERE)","volume":"54 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133651452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
