The present study was carried out with the objective of analyzing the species composition and the horizontal structure at a recovered riparian forest with another native adjacent area in the municipality of Poço Fundo, Minas Gerais. A floristic and phytosociological survey of the arboreal sinusia was carried out in the areas. Were sampled 199 individuals and 24 species in the recovered area and 105 individuals and 23 species in the native area. Floristic similarity between areas was not verified. Shannon diversity was low in both areas. In the recovered area, there is a predominance of early species while in the native area there is a predominance of late ones. There was no floristic convergence between the two studied áreas. A structural convergence between the areas was verified 13 years after the beginning of the restoration.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-02-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49239761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although irrigation is also an essential practice for crop success, the deficit or excess of water can provide unfavorable conditions for the development of carrots. This work was carried out aiming at evaluating the effect of nitrogen fertilization on topdressing and soil water replacement levels on carrot yield. The experiment was conducted at Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of the Triângulo Mineiro (IFTM) – Uberaba Campus, MG, Brazil, in a 4 × 4 factorial and randomized blocks involving four nitrogen doses applied to the topdressing (0 kg ha-1, 42 kg ha-1, 84 kg ha-1, and 126 kg ha-1) and four water replacement levels (70 %, 100 %, 130 %, and 160 %) based on the estimated values of the ETc of the crop. The interaction was significant only for the root diameter variable. Among the results, we can see that the N dose for the 119.4 kg ha-1 topdressing was the one that provided the maximum number of commercial roots, while soil water replacement of 86.94 % induced maximum total productivity.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43629159","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This work aims to estimate crop failures. For that purpose, we conducted three experiments with a soybean crop at the IFSULDEMINAS school farm - Inconfidentes Campus, by carrying out an aerial survey with an RPA, which generated an orthophoto of the area of interest. To quantify the failures existing in the experiments, we carried out a supervised classification to distinguish the soybean plants of the exposed soil. After the classification, the kappa index was calculated to verify whether the classification was satisfactory. With this, it was possible to calculate the percentage of failures obtained in each plot of the experiment. Finally, we analyzed the variance to verify if the percentage of failures of each plot had significant differences between them. We observed that in two experiments, there was a statistical difference in the number of failures, and in one experiment there was no difference.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-01-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47052732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fires in Cerrado can occur both naturally and through anthropic influence. However, due to the latter, the occurrence of fires has been increasingly frequent, as well as its impact on biotic communities. Ants’ colonies are widely used in studies of environmental impacts because of their responsiveness to environmental changes and easiness for their data to be analyzed. Here, the structure of the ants’ community in Cerrado environments at different areas post-fire times (two and four months, and a control area) in Itumirim, Minas Gerais, Brazil, was evaluated. Attractive baits were used as sampling methods, and found 48 species of ants belonging to 18 genera. Species richness was the same in all areas, showing that both two and four months after the fire occurrences seem to be enough to recover the ant population of these areas. Regarding ant composition, there were important differences, especially between the control area and the four months post-fire area. Moreover, vegetal biomass and vegetation covers only influenced ant composition. Here, it was found that species composition seems to be a better indicator of the responses of ant communities to post-fire effects, and can be used as a tool in monitoring programs.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-01-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48517263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This leads to severe chemical imbalances in the soil and in the plants, which significantly reduces the longevity of the farms. The objective of the present work was to evaluate the growth and production of ‘Grand nain’ bananas over a production cycle in response to phosphate fertilization based on simple superphosphate and monoammonium phosphate (MAP) in a soil irrigated with calcareous water. The doses tested were 0, 5, 10, 20, and 30 g P2O5 from simple superphosphate (18 % P2O5) and MAP (48 % P2O5) fertilizers, for a total of nine treatments every three months. Ammonium sulfate and potassium chloride were used in the monthly fertilization, and boric acid, magnesium sulfate, zinc sulfate, and tanned cow dung common to all plants were used in the quarterly fertilization. The results show that the simple superphosphate fertilizer provides a greater productive response of ‘Grand nain’ bananas compared to MAP in most doses tested. Thus, the hypothetical chemical imbalance caused by irrigation with calcareous water and enhanced by the simple superphosphate fertilizer was not observed in the first cultivation cycle of the ‘Grand nain’ banana.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41798573","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This work carried out a floristic survey related to its diverse and characterized habit and dispersion, and also related to the origin of the species existing in four public squares within the municipality of Campestre, Minas Gerais. Thus, the floristic and ecological aspects of trees and shrubs were surveyed in four urban green areas of the municipality. All arboreal and shrubby individuals were marked and identified. Each identified species was classified according to habit, dispersion, and origin. In total, 313 tree individuals, shrubs, and palm trees were registered and distributed among 73 species, (62 genera and 30 botanical families). When considering all squares, Shannon’s diversity was 3.72, and Pielou’s evenness coefficient was 0.87. Lower values of diversity and evenness were observed for each public square. There was greater richness and number of individuals of native species compared to exotic ones. The yellow ipe (Handroanthus serratifolius) was the only species present in all studied squares. Sassafras (Ocotea odorifera) and pau-brasil (Paubrasilia echinata) are endangered species and underrepresented. The most represented forms of dispersion were zoochory and anemochory.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46502927","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Given the above, the objective of this study was to evaluate the yield of common beans subjected to different doses of nitrogen and water depths in the region of Uberaba – MG, Brazil. The experiment was conducted at IFTM – Campus Uberaba, in randomized blocks, consisting of four levels of irrigation (deficits of 15 %, 30 %, and 45 % and a factor without water deficit) and four doses of nitrogen (50 kg ha-1, 100 kg ha-1, 150 kg ha-1, and 200 kg ha-1) applied in stage V4 of beans. The cultivar used was BRSMG Majestoso. There was no interaction between irrigation levels and nitrogen doses for the variables studied. Nitrogen doses influenced linearly only leaf nitrogen content. The water deficit of 9.72 % was favorable to achieve maximum grain yields and favors the number of pods per plant. The plant mass in R6, a mass of 100 grains, hydration, and thermal sum declined linearly with increased water deficit.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42693087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This insect is one of the most relevant pests in pasture degradation. In order for the control of spittlebugs to be efficient, it is important to know the population behavior of the species of this insect, identify the period of greatest occurrence, as well as the climatic and environmental conditions that favor the development of the pest. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the population dynamics of spittlebugs, at a quantitative level, in Brachiaria decumbens and Panicum maximum pastures, associating the results with meteorological data from the municipality of Conceição do Araguaia, Southeast Pará. To study the population dynamics of spittlebugs, samples were taken every two weeks, in two types of pastures aged between 5 and 7 years, kept under rotational grazing, with a stocking of 1.5 animal units. The method of monitoring nymphs and adults of leafhoppers was adopted, through walking within the observation area. The level of infestation of spittlebugs in both forage species was evaluated and all results were submitted to analysis of variance by the F test. It was found that the species B. decumbens had a greater number of adults and nymphs when compared to the forage species P. maximum. The population dynamics of spittlebugs occur gradually according to climatic conditions, and the period with not-so-high temperatures (22 ºC to 34 ºC) and good rainfall provide an infestation of this insect pest in the pasture.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41418354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The chemical composition of the coffee bean depends on genetic and environmental factors and pre and post-harvest management conditions. The presentwork aimed to characterize the physical-chemical attributes of the different coffee patterns obtained during the post-harvest of the fruits. Thirteen patterns were obtained, being: mix of dried fruits in high wind, mix of dried fruits in low wind, more mature green, natural float, natural raisin, float, natural cane green, natural ripe, natural ripe fermenting in water, natural ripe dried fermented, peeled, ripe peeled and pulped, in three random repetitions. The evaluated attributes were: Brix, total titratable acidity, pH, and ash content. The Natural Mature (MN) treatment was the best processing evaluated, as it provided the highest Brix value and the lowest titratable acidity value. The mature peeled, pulped mature, and natural mature treatments showed better sensory values, so they are recommended for post-harvest management to obtain a good drink quality.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41799144","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it can be a viable alternative to replace the use of pesticides for pest control. The objective of this work was to evaluate the use of this ginger-based extract in hydroponic lettuce as an alternative to thrips control. The experiment was carried out in a randomized block design, with five treatments and four replications. The treatments used were the concentrations of 0 %, 20 %, 40 %, 60 %, and 80 % weight/volume of aqueous extract. After 45 days of sowing, the ginger plant extract was applied to the lettuce plants every seven days. A population of thrips was monitored using adhesive traps attached above each experimental plot once a week until harvest. In addition, fresh mass weight, shoot height, and incidence of direct damage to the crop were evaluated. Regarding thrips monitoring, no differences wereobserved indicating the uniformity of the population level among the lettuce parcels. For the evaluation of weight and fresh mass, no differences were observed regarding the treatments. However, from the concentration of 60 %, it was observed the lowest averages of plants with direct damage, showing that the higher the concentration of the solution the lesser insect feeding. Accordingly, the use of ginger plant extract in hydroponic lettuce becomes a promising alternative for reducing thrips feeding on lettuce.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47949228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
