This agribusiness segment stands out in the economy of small cities in southern Minas Gerais, as it involves family farming and the permanence of the rural population in the countryside. This study aimed to contribute and adapt geotechnology-based methods for the remote mapping of coffee and the strengthening of the permanence of this population, providing an online platform to simulate coffee trading. The municipality of Inconfidentes/MG was the study area. Orbital images of the Sentinel-2A satellite were used in the development of the study. Images were classified in a supervised way with the random forest classifier in Google Earth Engine (GEE) and later used as a data source in the online platform developed in the Application Programming Interface (API) Leaflet to simulate coffee trading involving the cryptocurrency Coffee Coin. Results allowed the identification and mapping of coffee growing areas by remote sensing and, also, to demonstrate that the online platform can help in the planning of new investments in coffee production, in addition to presenting an overview of the economic importance of coffee to the municipality.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47065475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Eighty-one ewes aged between one and five years were used. At the end of April 2021, ewes’ reproductive control was carried out, using a short progestagen treatment (five days) + equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG). Cervical artificial insemination (AI) was performed at fixed-time (55 hours after the end of the hormonal treatment), with cooled semen. All ewes were inseminated by the same inseminator: 39 ewes with the DARIO tip on the end of the sheath and 42 without this tip. The pregnancy diagnosis was made by ultrasonography 41 days after AI. Age and body condition (BC) did not affect the ewes’ response to the applied hormonal treatment or the fertility rate. Approximately 95.1% of the ewes responded to the progestagen + eCG treatment. Forty-one days after AI, 86.4% of the ewes were pregnant. The use of the DARIO tip did not affect the fertility rate.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42077309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the bird community in an urban landscape in the southwest Amazonian region within an area in the arc of deforestation was investigated. The observations were performed through linear transects, during the wet and dry seasons of 2013. Records were obtained using binoculars and cameras. A total of 191 species of birds were recorded. The species accumulation curve was not reaching the asymptote, showing that new species can be recorded with a sampling effort increase. The community has low richness as a result of pressure on Amazonian environments and a high degree of anthropization. However, there is relevant composition, because nectarivores, insectivorous, carnivores, omnivores, and granivores were found in all environments, as well as endemic and threatened species. Then, the goal of this work was to consider the most favorable and unfavorable months over the years for the arabica and robusta coffee trading in the physical market and arabica coffee in the future market. The work was carried out using historical data on the price of coffee in Brazil, stratifying it into periods and listing for each year of evaluation the percentage of months with the first and second highest and lowest prices. Arabica and Robusta coffee were assessed respectively from 2018 to 1981 and from 2018 to 1995. Arabica coffee in the futures market was analyzed from 2018 to 1980. The evaluation was performed using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis among the modalities of coffee trading in Brazil. Great instability was observed between the months of high and low prices for coffee trading. This shows the uncertainties existing in the market; however, it is possible to observe a trend of the most favorable and unfavorable months for commercialization. It is determined that for arabica coffee, December and January are the most favorable and unfavorable months for trading, respectively. For robusta coffee, the most favorable and unfavorable sales months were June and January. Arabica coffee in the futures market January was the best month for trading and February in the opposite condition, in alternate years, the least favorable month.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2023-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45146915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We aimed to detect serial patterns in precipitation like trend and seasonality and make predictions for the 2019 year. The idea was to understand water shortage events that occur in Viçosa as well as the challenges regarding water supply for human consumption and agricultural production faced by urban and rural citizens. We used time series and SARIMA (1,0,0) x (0,1,1) model approaches selected based on Bayesian and Akaike Information criteria values (BIC and AIC, respectively). In addition, the ARCH (2) model, selected through AIC, was used to fit SARIMA (1,0,0) x (0,1,1) residues with heteroscedasticity. Our results reveal no changes in precipitation for Viçosa, MG, Brazil, with large variations observed only for specific periods.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41958475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present work aims to inventory the social wasp fauna in an agrosystem in the Cerrado, Minas Gerais and identify species with potential to be used in biological control. Through active search, 478 wasps of 8 genera and 17 species were collected. The dominance of some species such as Protopolybia sedula, Polybia ignobilis, Polybia paulista, Polybia fastidiosuscula and Polybia occidentalis reinforces the importance of these species in agricultural environments and their potential use in biological pest control. In addition, this work confirms that some species of social wasps benefit from the anthropized environment, such as Polistes versicolor, which uses human constructions for nesting.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-09-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44592279","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a major postharvest disease and is mainly controlled by the use of fungicides. As the search for healthy foods free of chemical residues has increased among consumers, the objective of this study was to evaluate the in vitro antifungal efficacy of different concentrations of essential oils on mycelial growth of Colletotrichum musae, the causal agent of anthracnose in banana fruits. The essential oils used were citronella grass (Cymbopogon nardus), lemongrass (Cymbopogon citrates), clove (Syzygium aromaticum), and basil (Ocimum basilicum). The essential oils were added to a potato dextrose agar medium at concentrations of 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0,and 2.5 μLmL−1 and distributed in 90 mm diameter Petri dishes. Mycelium discs from the fungal colony, grown for seven days, were transferred to Petri dishes containing the oils and incubated at 25°C with a photoperiod of 12 h (light/dark) cycle for eight days. Colony growth was monitored daily to determine the percentage, index of inhibition of mycelial growth, and average diameter of the colonies. The experimental design consisted of randomized blocks with six different extract concentrations with replicates (n = 4). Each oil extract was then evaluated separately. The essential oils from citronellagrass, lemongrass, and basil inhibited mycelial growth to the proportion that the oil concentration increased. The total inhibition of the pathogen occurred at a concentration of 1.5 µLmL−1 using citronellagrass and lemongrass and 2.5 µLmL−1 using basil. However, essential oils from clove completely inhibited the mycelial growth of C. musae at a concentration of 0.5 µLmL−1. The tested essential oils showed in vitro antifungal activity against C. musae at different concentrations. However, essential oils from clove are unique in exhibiting a better inhibitory effect on mycelial growth at lower concentrations.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-09-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44457305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The investigation used landscape metrics after extracting those fragments from the shapefile of soil use and occupation of the state of Mato Grosso and their application on the file of a negative buffer of 50.00. Forest and cerrado fragments were grouped into size classes in hectares. The quantified and specialized landscape metrics were area (mean perimeter/area ratio, core areas index, edge density), shape (mean shape indicator) and proximity (distance from the nearest neighbor in meters and the proximity index). The northeast of the state of Mato Grosso is occupied by 34.81% and 27.22% of the forest and cerrado fragments, respectively. The sum of the areas of the larger area size classes (classes >10,000 to 30,000 ha and >30,000 ha) is higher for forest fragments, which is indicative of the more expressive presence of the Amazon biome in that region and evidence of a more significant anthropic pressure on the fragmentation of the cerrado. In the northeast of the state of Mato Grosso, larger areas of forest and cerrado fragments are more protected than the smaller areas, as they have a smaller internal/external area ratio, higher percentage of central area, and less participatory border in relation to the total area.","PeriodicalId":43096,"journal":{"name":"Revista Agrogeoambiental","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2022-09-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41719601","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
