Methods A combination of treatment including chuna manual therapy, pharmacopuncture at the lumbar facet joints, acupuncture, cupping, and herbal medicine was provided for 1 month. Progress was assessed using the Numeric Rating Scale, Oswestry Disability Index, EuroQol-5Dimension, and Hot Flush Score before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the symptoms were reduced and the quality of life was enhanced, although there was no improvement in the abnormal sensation in the anterior part of the thigh. No adverse events were observed. Conclusions The findings indicate that a combination of Korean medical treatment can be a safe and effective alternative treatment in reducing LBP and hot flushes after hysterectomy.","PeriodicalId":430318,"journal":{"name":"Korean Society of Chuna Manual Medicine Spine and Nerves","volume":"128 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133178824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods Hospitalization treatment was performed on a 13-year-old Osgood-Schlatter patient who visited Woosuk University Korean Medicine Hospital. The patient complained of pain in both the tibial tuberosity and restriction on the range of knee joint movement. The results were evaluated using the visual analogue scale, knee injury and osteoarthritis outcome score, and range of motion. Results After treatment, knee pain decreased and range of movement angle improved. Conclusions This study suggests that complex Korean medicine therapy, including myofascial Chuna therapy, are effective in improving the range of motion and improving pain in early Osgood-Schlatter disease. The limitation of this study is that the subject of the study was limited to one case. Methods Complex Korean medicine treatments including Chuna manual therapy were provided to patients with SIJ widening due to a traffic accident trauma. Measurement of range of motion and manual muscle test to evaluate functional activities of daily living was conducted before and after treatment. Moreover, outcome estimates were performed using the numeric rating scale, pain disability index, and EuroQol 5-dimension five-level questionnaire. Results After complex treatment, functional activities of daily living improved. Sacroiliac joint pain decreased and the quality-of-life score improved. Methods We searched recent clinical studies regarding herbal medicine fumigation in traditional Chinese medical journals on plantar fasciitis through the China Academic Journal (CAJ). Clinical articles published from 2012 to July 2022 were analyzed. This study examined the types of study, periods, herbal medicine, assessment, and risk of bias and conducted a comparative evaluation of herbal medicine fumigation added to other treatments. Results Ten studies were selected from 52 studies. Eight studies were classified as randomized controlled trial. Various assessment scales were used. Most treatments were administered for approximately 20 to 30 min once daily. Most studies revealed that herbal medicine fumigation is effective for plantar fasciitis. Conclusions Most studies showed that herbal medicine fumigation is effective for plantar fasciitis.
