Implementation of certain managerial decisions at the industry-specific level is largely dependent on the market development specificities. The study theoretically substantiates and empirically tests the hypothesis that sustainable development of industry-specific markets implies effective competition present in them. The theoretical framework includes the concepts of sustainable development and competition. The research methods are dynamic, statistical and industry analyses. We developed a set of methodological tools that provides for a dynamic complementary assessment of the industry-specific market parameters, namely the sustainabile development and the presence of effective competition. The first parameter was examined using the industry average annual growth rate, the second one – by analyzing the indicators of absolute leadership in costs, tur bulence in market shares, and the Bain index. The empirical data of the work was retrieved from 10 industry-specific mechanical engineering markets in the Russian Federation for 2000–2020. The findings indicate a significant differentiation in the field in question: the hypothesis of the study was confirmed only for three industries of mechanical engineering; the rest of the markets are characterized by both unstable growth dynamics and a low level of effective competition. The proposed methodological approach is universal and can be used to analyze other industrial markets.","PeriodicalId":42955,"journal":{"name":"Upravlenets-The Manager","volume":"42 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75085678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the article, we develop stages and methods for assessing the formation of an ecosystem based on a scientific review. The theoretical framework of the study is institutional economics and the concept of ecosystem. The method of system logical analysis was used. The research data are retrieved from scientific papers indexed in the global databases Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus in 2015–2022. Having analyzed the existing literature, we formulated the definition of a firm’s sustainable ecosystem interpreted as the external environment of a business entity with a comprehensive set of infrastructure elements, stable network interactions, the extensive use of digital technologies, the essential institutional support, and optimal transaction costs. In the formation of a firm’s sustainable ecosystem, there are five stages providing for the development of infrastructural, network, digital, institutional, and financial parameters of this system. These factors ensure the benefits of a sustainable ecosystem consisting in diverse economic activities, strong relationships, fast decision-making, stable strategic development, and reduced costs for maintaining the ecosystem. The novelty of the study lies in the systematization of the stages and methods for the formation of a firm’s sustainable ecosystem based on institutional economics, which adds to the existing methods for assessing business ecosystems. We have highlighted the avenues for further studies on expanding the toolkit for evaluating various aspects of a firm’s ecosystem functioning.","PeriodicalId":42955,"journal":{"name":"Upravlenets-The Manager","volume":"32 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72405705","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research subject is the import substitution policy in Russia, as well as the conditions created by economic sanctions. Methodologically, the study relies on the theories of international trade and public administration that allowed determining the main types of import substitution and restrictions emerging when managing this process at the government level within a large-scale system, as well as establishing feedback in the implementation of macroeconomic policies counteracting import substitution, i.e., parallel imports and zero duties. The research methods are comparative and taxonomic analysis, and generalization of statistical estimates. Empirical evidence comes from the industry-specific import substitution programmes and orders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. The author proposes a pyramid of import substitution significance levels reflecting various scales of import substitution policy – starting from products and services, technologies, and institutions (rules) to regulatory methods and policy models, cultural imperatives, and economic doctrines. The generalized Russia’s experience shows that progress in import substitution is relative. This implies investing more efforts in the development of a national project that would link national design and implementation of sectoral programs at all levels with evidence-based substantiation of resources and priorities within the goals of import substitution.","PeriodicalId":42955,"journal":{"name":"Upravlenets-The Manager","volume":"142 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75519608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the study examines the relationship between internal green marketing and employees’ green motivation, attitude, and behaviour. The methodological basis includes the concept of social learning theory stating that behavioural patterns are adopted with the use of role models. The research methods are quantitative and sociometric analysis. The research data were obtained by survey method to 282 participants randomly selected among the ship employees of a maritime company in Turkey. Reliability and validity analysis were applied to the variables. The relationships between the variables were tested with the structural equation model. As a result, it was determined that internal green marketing significantly positively affected the employees’ motivation. It was concluded that motivation has a significant positive impact on attitude, and it has a positive effect on behaviour. In addition, it was found that motivation and attitude have a full mediating effect in this relationship.","PeriodicalId":42955,"journal":{"name":"Upravlenets-The Manager","volume":"1245 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86579547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
