The transformational and transactional leadership dimensions, as well as the ethical leadership behavioural dimensions were considered as the independent variables in the study. As the dependent variables, the dimensions of the PR department work quality were considered: Ethical and Responsible Action, Proactive and Quality Performance, Strategic and Effective Action, Media Relations and Internal Public Relations. The paper also analyzes the moderating effects of leaders’ gender and leaders’ age on the observed relationships. Motivation: Previous research linking leadership and public relations can generally be divided into two groups. One group of such studies addresses the impact of leadership on public relations (Topic, 2021; Meng & Neill, 2021). The other research group relates to examining and defining the characteristics of leadership in public relations (Martinelli & Erzikova, 2017; Killingsworth & Flynn, 2016; Hamrin, 2016). However, the impression gained is that there is a lack of research which focuses on measuring the direct impacts of individual leadership dimensions on individual public relations dimensions, especially at the organizational level. This is even more emphasized when examining the influence of the dimensions of transformational leadership and ethical leadership behaviour. Idea: The idea is leadership in organizations has an impact on a number of individual and organizational performance indicators, including public relations and effectiveness in public relations. The paper also analyzes the moderating effects of leaders’ gender and leaders’ age on the observed relationships. Data: The research was carried out in Serbian companies. The respondents included PR managers, PR practitioners and marketing professionals. A total of 236 questionnaires were collected from 78 companies. Tools: The descriptive statistics for all of the observed dimensions. The correlation coefficients between the leadership dimensions and the PR department work quality dimensions. Regression analysis the leadership dimensions on the PR department work quality dimensions. Leaders’ gender and age as a moderator of the observed relationships. Findings: Transformational leadership has a greater impact than transactional. The influence of the Contingent Punishment Behaviour dimension can be negative as can that of Intellectual Stimulation. Female and older leaders have a greater influence on the PR department work quality dimensions. The impression is that female and older leaders have a stricter, more decisive and emotional management style, so the results of the PR department are more aligned with such requirements. Contribution: Such research would create a theoretical basis for the practical action of leaders in the promotion of public relations, especially in terms of individual public relations dimensions.","PeriodicalId":429254,"journal":{"name":"Management:Journal of Sustainable Business and Management Solutions in Emerging Economies","volume":" 23","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141373099","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motivation: National testing represents an important segment of education in most countries. Considering that it involves a large number of stakeholders and activities, innovations based on the implementation of new technologies are complex and require significant efforts and resources for their implementation. The digitalization of national testing in Serbia, in addition to the development of software and organizational solutions, is accompanied by the development and implementation of a communication system aimed at facilitating the acceptance of innovations by all participants. This paper addresses the analysis of the efficiency of the elements of the communication system and satisfaction of stakeholders with them, at the final exam at the end of primary education in the Republic of Serbia. Idea: The paper aims to describe a successful communication system implemented to support the process of national testing digitalization. Effective communication is essential due to the large number of participants involved in the process and should ensure national testing effectiveness and transparency. Data: For the analysis of the satisfaction of two stakeholder groups with the highest interest and influence in the process of conducting the final exam, data obtained from surveys conducted in 2021, 2022, and 2023 were used. Each year, the questionnaire was completed by over 900 primary school principals and over 8,000 parents of final-grade pupils. Tools: In the research, a questionnaire specifically designed for two stakeholder groups - primary school principals and parents of final-grade pupils was used. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS software. Descriptive statistics and correlation analysis were employed. Findings: The research has found that high satisfaction among key stakeholders (primary school principals and parents) is achieved through a carefully designed and implemented communication system, which includes an internet portal, written and video instructions, as well as direct support from trained and expert individuals. The communication system element that has the greatest impact on principals' satisfaction is the administrative portal, while for parents, it comprises all instructions prepared for carrying out activities. Contribution: This paper expands on existing research related to the digitalization of national testing and highlights the key elements of the communication system to enhance participant satisfaction in the process.","PeriodicalId":429254,"journal":{"name":"Management:Journal of Sustainable Business and Management Solutions in Emerging Economies","volume":" 45","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141128639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motivation: The wide application of Industry 4.0 technologies has positively affected the economic aspects of conducting business. However, issues arise in the social and ecological aspects. Overcoming these challenges is not an easy task for both enterprises and countries as well. Multiple processes across multiple industries take place that pave the way towards a new business and social paradigm – Society 5.0. The main goal was to determine what processes characterize the transition to Society 5.0 and how managing some of these processes can affect the transition. Additionally, the role of managers in Society 5.0 is discussed. This is important, as the number of studies that address this subject in this manner is small. The motivation is to expand the existing body of literature in this domain. Idea: The main idea was to conduct a systematic review of studies regarding Society 5.0 from various aspects. Based on the findings, the role of managers is investigated. In addition, a theoretical model of the transition process is developed. Data: For this review study, 54 papers from credible sources were qualitatively analysed. The papers refer to Society 5.0 in various domains (sustainability, business, environment, ICTs, education, technology, data, Industry 4.0, Industry 5.0 etc.). Tools: The well-established PRISMA protocol was used for the review process. The findings were noted and labelled for easier development of the theoretical model. Findings: The findings and the developed model indicate the imperative role of managers across all industries for organic and sustainable results that come from the transition processes. Managers must embrace change and thrive towards the concept of Society 5.0 when it comes to conducting business. Contribution: The results of the review contribute to the existing body of literature, as there are few studies that address Society 5.0 in this manner.","PeriodicalId":429254,"journal":{"name":"Management:Journal of Sustainable Business and Management Solutions in Emerging Economies","volume":" 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139142485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motivation: Most of the published research in this field focuses on a general approach to the competitiveness, while the effect of the individual dimensions of tourist destination attractiveness, especially in case of urban tourist destinations, is still insufficiently explored. This study provides insights and recommendations for destination management that would result in a more effective management of urban tourist destinations and, consequently, increase competitiveness of the destination. Idea: The main idea of this study is to empirically evaluate the relationship between the perceived quality of tourists’ experiences and their expectations from urban tourist destinations, and to identify the most important dimensions of tourist destination attractiveness, taking into consideration different motivational factors. Based on the obtained results, it is possible to give recommendations that can contribute to increasing tourists’ satisfaction and competitiveness of the urban tourist destination. Data: The study was conducted on a sample of 312 respondents from Belgrade, a large outbound tourist centre, who met the pre-established set of criteria. Computer-aided web interviewing (CAWI) was used for data collection. Tools: The study was conducted using the Pearson correlation coefficient to determine the relationship between the perceived quality of experiences and expectations, and the SERVQUAL model for measuring quality of dimensions of tourist destination attractiveness by evaluating the differences between perceived quality and expectations, and descriptive statistics. Findings: Traditional understanding of tourists’ satisfaction that leads to tourist destination competitiveness is that the tourists’ expectations must be either met or exceeded. This study showed that tourists’ expectations from certain dimensions of tourist destination attractiveness may be higher than the quality of the experience with them, but tourists would still be satisfied if the perceived quality of their experiences was positive. Moreover, the study has identified three social and one physical dimension of tourist destination attractiveness as the most significant, regardless of tourists’ travel motivation. Contribution: The study contributes to the existing body of literature by introduction of the new data-driven approach to the strategic processes of managing urban tourist destination and its dimensions of tourist destination attractiveness.","PeriodicalId":429254,"journal":{"name":"Management:Journal of Sustainable Business and Management Solutions in Emerging Economies","volume":"105 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139147061","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motivation: The concept of circular economy has received the attention of the world public in recent years. The prosperity of economies and companies is manifested by the safe and efficient use of resources. The circular economy should also be introduced in the textile industry, as waste continues to accumulate year after year. After the oil industry, the textile industry is the second largest polluter of the environment. We will describe the purchase and disposal of textile products and the development of the circular economy concept. Idea: The idea of this paper was to find out how people in Slovenia and Serbia treat clothes, especially waste from clothes, and what their perception towards reusing old clothes redesigned by an app is. Data: The research was conducted in two separate surveys. One was conducted among respondents in Slovenia on the sample that counts 66 people, mostly youngsters, and the same survey was conducted later, on the respondents from Serbia, on the same sample of 66 youngsters. Tools: SPSS was used to apply descriptive statistics techniques on the samples. Findings: The results of the survey show differences in perception between Slovenian and Serbian youngsters towards sustainable use of clothing. There are differences in how they are equipped with knowledge about the circular economy. In the two countries they have different main reasons for buying clothes and throwing away old clothes, but they agree that they should contribute to the reduction of waste generation in similar ways. Contribution: This research contributes to better understanding of perception that people have in Slovenia and Serbia towards a sustainable use of clothing and the circular economy concept.","PeriodicalId":429254,"journal":{"name":"Management:Journal of Sustainable Business and Management Solutions in Emerging Economies","volume":"159 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139153832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the gender wage gap remains significant. This paper uses data from the Survey on Income and Living Conditions to examine the gender wage gap in Serbia. Methods: The estimates of the stochastic frontier model were obtained using the maximum likelihood estimation method. Results: The results indicate a statistically significant gender wage gap, showing that women on average have a log hourly wage 0.109 and 0.098 lower than men in 2019 and 2020, respectively. The labour market shows similar efficiency of employees. Conclusion: It is predicted that women are paid less than men, even after controlling for the observed factors. Comparing this with the results of previous studies, it can be concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic has contributed to a slight worsening of gender inequalities in the Serbian labour market. Implications and research limitation: Women's financial vulnerability can be exacerbated by leaving the workforce, taking up part-time employment or working in a job with lower benefits. The latter position of women in the labour market or their recognition as potential beneficiaries by pension and social security systems are two ways in which this has practical implications for the public policy. Similar research using data from the post-COVID-19 period would be of great value in assessing changes in women's position in the labour market.","PeriodicalId":429254,"journal":{"name":"Management:Journal of Sustainable Business and Management Solutions in Emerging Economies","volume":"52 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139153684","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motivation: The paper is inspired by an evident lack of research of factors that possibly cause differences in the employees` work-related attitudes, work-life balance and employee well-being especially in the Covid Era. In this paper, we search for a better understanding of the relationship between working from home, work-related attitudes, work-life balance and employee well-being. Idea: The paper aims to identify factors that make a difference in certain work-related attitudes (job satisfaction and organizational commitment), work-life balance and employee well-being in working from home environment in order to provide for better understanding of employees` behaviour in the Covid Era and the implications for more effective Human Resource Management of working from home employees in Post-Covid time. Data: Primary data were collected through a questionnaire with 2,171 employees, over the period from the end of March till the beginning of May 2021. The sample included only respondents who have experienced working from home from the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic in Serbia. Tools: Statistical analysis was performed (using descriptive stats, t-test for testing equality of means, chi-square test and ANOVA, and some non-parametrical tests). Findings: Preliminary findings signify a lack of previous experience in applying the working from home practice; an increase in the length of working hours; some resistance to working from home; most employees would choose a balance in which office work dominates, but there is also work from home, at least one day a week; the dominant majority of employees report feeling cheerful and moody, calm and relaxed and active and energetic when working from home, while slightly different results are recorded in the field of physical well-being; overall work-life balance is not interrupted. Contribution: This paper contributes to the research of factors of work-related attitudes, work-life balance and employee well-being while working from home by bringing original field data from Serbia. From the standpoint of HR policies and practices, it offers valuable implications for managers working in post-Covid Era.","PeriodicalId":429254,"journal":{"name":"Management:Journal of Sustainable Business and Management Solutions in Emerging Economies","volume":" 15","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113950148","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
