Since the scientific, technical, industrial, business, and social worlds have changed from physically isolated systems to electronically interconnected system-of-systems (SoS), the functioning of such a SoS depends critically on its operational robustness and security. In the previous physically-isolated world, robust static security for selected matched problems was often sufficient. Today, we need a new approach to providing security, because even adaptive security is insufficient. This new approach is termed here a cognitive security system. The talk will cover three major issues. First, the talk starts from a review of the existing security systems, with their problems and required solutions, as well as their vulnerabilities, attacks, and defences. Second, it provides a review of decision-making systems, including dynamic and dynamical systems, complex systems, adaptive systems, autonomic systems and their attributes, symbiotic systems, and finally special attention is given to cognitive dynamic systems as defined by Wang's cognitive informatics [1-4], Kinsner cognitive machines, [5], Haikonen conscious machines [6], and Haykin cognitive dynamic systems [7]. This review ends with a model of cognitive security system. This model has a feature based on polyscale analysis and synthesis never reported before. The formalization of the main components of the pedagogic discourse takes into account the imaginary formations, languages and discursive process of teaching and learning, which allow us to orient ourselves towards producing a more diverse model. Finally technological artifacts created (new technological tools in education, virtual classrooms and new materials) become powerful tools daily in mediating our communication and our activities. Thus new forms of code -according to some communication models- seem to take on increasing significance. The static and dynamic geologic data of fractured well and fracturing treatment parameters obtained from 51 fractured wells in sand reservoirs of Zhongyuan oilfield are analyzed by applying the grey correlation method. Ten parameters are screened, including penetrability, porosity, net thickness, oil saturation, water cut, average daily production, and injection rate, amount cementing front spacer, amount sand-carrying agent and amount sand. With the novel Radial Basis Function neural network model based on immune principles, 13 parameters of 42 wells out of 51 are used as the input samples and the stimulation ratios as the output samples. The nonlinear interrelationship between the input samples and output samples are investigated, and a productivity prediction model of optimizing fracture design is established. The data of the rest 7 wells are used to test the model. The aim of this paper is to model the first phase of a three-phase mechanism of bottom-up visual attention. This phase considers feature-based saliency for attentional deployment. Feature-based saliency is computed by combining two saliences: the first saliency considers simple visual attributes: intensity, color and orientation; the second one takes into account object's shape. The stimulus with the greatest feature-based saliency is attended by making an eye movement to bring it to the center of gaze or by improving its contrast sensitivity. To develop such study we have used ROSA Analyser tool which generates the Labelled Transition System, LTS, corresponding to a process specified in the Markovian Process Algebra ROSA. ROSA Analyser takes as input the syntactical representation of the process and once its syntactical structure has been properly layered represented -internally- by the tool, it applies the Operational Semantics of ROSA, so producing the corresponding LTS, which shows all the possible behaviours of the system we are interested in. Color and tone adjustments are among the most frequent fabric design operations. Color and tone style adjustments are part of a generic process of cognition involved in the creation of new fabric designs. A challenging problem in this process is given a s et of natural images associated with a subject or a theme, the problem is to discover the underlying cognitive relationships that connect textures and color tones that are perceived by an observer or in our case, a fabric designer. These relationships culminate in optimal combinations of colors and tones that resemble the original theme in which a template of colors is defined with respect to an associated verbal description. We formulate the fabric design process as a cognitive process that simultaneously considers multiple color tones to form a desired theme as well as texture characteristics in the fabric. In this paper, we incorporate color assembly and texture knowledge in the fabric design process in order to automatically produce the color combinations learnt from a given natural or abstract theme. We demonstrate that the use of color theme associations can automatically generate new fabric designs that rival complex commercial designs that are otherwise difficult to generate even by experienced designers. Most algorithms for obtaining Büchi automata from LTL formulas involve intermediate forms, and perform simplifications on the intermediate or the final translation product. In this paper an improved tableau-based algorithm is proposed, which generates transition-based Büchi automata for given LTL formulas directly, by applying an efficient on-the-fly degeneralization. The algorithm circumvents the intermediate steps and the simplification process that follows, and therefore performs more efficiently. On-the-fly simplifications as well as BDD presentations are adopted in the algorithm to gain significant reduction both on the size of result automata and on the computational complexity. With some experimental results, a comparison between our method and previous work is given. If a player joins or leaves a group, the matching must be calculated from scratch. In this paper, we propose a changeable two-sided matching problem for two-sided problems in changing environments where a player can join or leave groups. We also propose an algorithm, called the continuation algorithm, for this problem, which calculates matching using not only the preferences of the players of the two groups, but also the matching result of the original two-sided matching problem before changes occur. A prediction method based on fuzzy information granulation and support vector machine (FIG-SVM) for alumina concentration is proposed to solve the problem that prediction model can not be established accurately while there were strong correlations in many factors of aluminum reduction cells. In the proposed approach, Theory of fuzzy information granulation is used to granulate time-series data of alumina cell. Granulated data can not only reflect the characteristics of original but also reduce redundant information. Support vector machine can be used to forecast short-term alumina concentration.
